Chapter 47: Capturing a Snake Girl Slave
"What did you do to me?!" Yue Mei screamed in horror, her voice trembling. She could feel a mark imprinted on her soul, something she couldn't expel no matter how hard she tried.
"A Soul Fire Seal, that's all." Lu Bu chuckled lightly and said, "Now, whenever I want, your soul will burn to ashes, turning into nothingness. So, little snake girl, you'd better behave~."
Hearing this, Yue Mei's face turned ashen. This bastard really intended to enslave her!
"You scum! I'll kill you!" Yue Mei shrieked in rage, her snake tail whipping as her poisonous fangs extended. She lunged at Lu Bu like a bolt of lightning.
Snap!
With just a snap of his fingers, Lu Bu made Yue Mei's body stiffen mid attack. She clutched her head and collapsed to the ground, rolling in pain as a searing agony erupted in her soul.
"Ahhh!!!"
The pain of a burning soul was unbearable. With a mere thought, Lu Bu had her entirely at his mercy.
"Stop it, you bastard... Ahh!!" Yue Mei screamed.
"You'd better call me master, little snake girl!" Lu Bu snorted.
"Ahh... Damn it, this pain is killing me!" Yue Mei cried out, her slender body writhing uncontrollably on the sand. Dust and grit flew everywhere as her movements carved deep grooves into the ground.
Lu Bu watched her coldly, unmoved by her cries. Despite her beauty, he felt no pity. A great man like Lu Bu had no time for weakness, and he certainly wasn't some fool who would let his plans be derailed by a pretty face.
"Master! Master, please stop! I was wrong... Master!" Yue Mei finally gave in, unable to endure the torment any longer. She lowered her head in submission.
Hearing this, Lu Bu nodded in satisfaction. With another snap of his fingers, the spiritual fire of the Soul Fire Seal receded. Yue Mei lay on the sand, her body drenched in cold sweat as she gasped for air.
"How does it feel?" Lu Bu asked with a slight smile.
"You..." Yue Mei opened her mouth to retort, but the sharp look in his eyes made her swallow her words.
"Here, eat this." Lu Bu casually tossed a jade bottle at her.
Yue Mei's hands trembled as she caught the bottle. She didn't want to comply, but the thought of the Soul Fire Seal's torment made her think twice. Looking at Lu Bu's calm yet threatening expression, she reluctantly uncorked the bottle.
A rich medicinal fragrance wafted out, surprising Yue Mei. It was a pill a high grade one at that!
"What... What kind of pill is this?" Yue Mei asked cautiously as she swallowed it. Moments later, a refreshing coolness spread through her soul, soothing the lingering pain.
"It's a soul nourishing pill," Lu Bu replied casually, dusting off his sleeves. Using the Soul Fire Seal consumed energy, so he had prepared several pills to restore his spiritual strength. Giving one to Yue Mei wouldn't hurt.
"You..." Yue Mei's expression became conflicted. She couldn't understand why he would give her such a precious pill after enslaving her.
"Master," Yue Mei finally mustered the courage to speak, carefully choosing her words. "May I ask, what is your purpose in coming to the desert?"
Lu Bu smirked. She was adapting quickly to her new role, but was this genuine submission or the beginning of Stockholm Syndrome? "I'm looking for a Heavenly Flame."
"A Heavenly Flame? Then why did you capture me?" Yue Mei was momentarily stunned. What did his search for a Heavenly Flame have to do with her?
"You were the one who tried to capture me first!" Lu Bu's face darkened.
"Was I...? Ahaha, I guess I did," Yue Mei laughed awkwardly, scratching her head. She had wanted to enslave a handsome man and completely forgot about that.
Yue Mei felt a sense of relief. At least she wouldn't die, for now.
"Take me to your Holy City," Lu Bu ordered, gesturing with his chin.
"What are you planning to do there?" Yue Mei's expression instantly became guarded.
"The Heavenly Flame is in your queen's possession." Lu Bu pulled out two multicolored snake scales and waved them with a smirk. "Why else do you think I enslaved you?"
Yue Mei clenched her teeth, her face dark with anger. She wanted to curse him but didn't dare to speak out.
"Let's go." Lu Bu chuckled, pushing her forward with one hand. Then, without warning, he sat down on her snake tail as if it were a cushion.
"You...!"
Yue Mei's eyes widened in fury. This bastard was treating her like a mount! And to think she had just felt touched by his earlier gesture of giving her a pill.
What a waste of emotions!
"Move it!" Lu Bu snorted, his tone dripping with mockery.
Yue Mei shivered involuntarily. She was powerless to resist. If he wanted the Heavenly Flame, she could take him to it. But if he tried to harm the Queen, she would fight him to the death!
With that resolve in mind, Yue Mei reluctantly extended her Dou Qi wings. She was just about to take flight toward the Snake People's Holy City when Lu Bu suddenly slammed his palm onto the sand.
Boom!
The ground beneath them collapsed with a loud crash, creating a deep pit that swallowed them both.
"What happened?!" Yue Mei yelped in alarm, fearing an enemy ambush. But she quickly realized that Lu Bu had caused the collapse.
"Master, what's going on?" Yue Mei asked timidly as a layer of sand slowly covered the pit, sealing them inside.
"Someone's coming. And they're strong," Lu Bu replied with a frown. He had sensed several powerful auras approaching, two of which were at the Dou Emperor level.
He expanded his soul power, enveloping both himself and Yue Mei. Yue Mei's bright eyes flickered nervously as she tried to guess what he was planning.
Above the sand dune, four figures flew swiftly through the air. Three of them had Dou Qi wings, while the fourth sat atop a flying magical beast, cloaked in black.
"Old He, you said there was a battle here?" a booming voice asked. Lu Bu raised an eyebrow. Was that Gu He and his group?
Judging by the timing, it seemed about right. But... where was Xiao Yan? Why hadn't he arrived at the Tagore Desert yet?
"Can't you see the traces on the ground, you blind lion?" another voice retorted.
"It looks like we're too late. The fight's already over..."
The black cloaked figure scanned the area briefly before withdrawing their gaze.
"Did you find anything, Sect Leader Yun?" asked a middle aged man in blue robes. He was none other than Gu He, known as the Dan King of the Jia Ma Empire and the leader of the group.
"Nothing," Yun Yun replied softly, shaking her head. "All I can tell is that one of the parties involved was from the Snake People Tribe. Beyond that, it's unclear. We arrived too late."
Gu He remained silent for a moment, sensing the area carefully before saying, "Let's move on. This isn't important."
With that, the four figures flapped their wings and disappeared into the horizon like streaks of light.
"Send a message to your tribe. There are intruders," Lu Bu instructed Yue Mei. "Let's go straight to your Holy City."
"…" Yue Mei cursed silently. Gu He, the Dan King, combined with what Lu Bu had said earlier about the Heavenly Flame, made it clear that Lu Bu was an enemy of her people.
Still, she didn't dare to disobey. With a tremor of her Dou Qi wings, she soared out of the sandpit, carrying Lu Bu as they sped toward the Snake People's Holy City.
