Chapter 78: The Hunyuan Bone Molding Pill... I Think I Can Use This Too!
Inside the mountain manor, in one of the rooms, Lu Bu sat cross legged, his eyes closed as faint, colorless light flickered around him, and his soul power fluctuated intermittently. He was meditating in preparation for what was to come: refining a Hunyuan Bone Molding Pill for Jia Xingtian. In exchange, Jia Xingtian and the Nether Sea Python Beast would accompany Lu Bu on his trip to Yunlan Mountain.
Nearby, Qing Lin held a jade vial and carefully used a small jade dropper to extract a few drops of Amethyst Source Liquid. She placed them before the Seven Colored Heaven Swallowing Python. The small python, hiding under a blanket, peeked its little head out to glance at Qing Lin, its crystalline eyes revealing a determined glint. In a flash, it darted out, licked up the Amethyst Source Liquid, and then sprang into Lu Bu's arms.
Satisfied, it let out a contented burp, coiled its soft, slender body into a comfortable position, and promptly fell asleep.
Feeling the movement, Lu Bu opened his eyes and helplessly tapped the python's small head. This little creature was getting bolder and more mischievous by the day.
"Lu Bu, are you ready? Jia Xingtian has arrived," came Hai Bodong's voice from outside. Though he spoke casually, there was an underlying tension. After all, even with his current six star Dou Huang strength, the thought of facing Yun Shan, a Dou Zong, still left him uneasy.
"Coming," Lu Bu replied, standing up and preparing to leave. "Qing Lin, focus on your cultivation. I need to go refine a pill."
"Mm, I know," Qing Lin nodded obediently, though her emerald green eyes dimmed slightly as she watched Lu Bu's departing figure. She felt increasingly disheartened she couldn't help him with anything and could only play the role of a maid.
In the training hall, four figures were seated. Aside from Hai Bodong, there was Jia Xingtian, Princess Yaoye a graceful and regal young woman wearing a crown and Xiao Yan, who had stopped by for a visit.
With the secret technique in hand, Xiao Yan was confident about the Three Year Agreement. All that remained was to win the Alchemist Conference and fulfill his transaction. Hearing that Lu Bu was about to refine a pill, he decided to come and observe.
As Lu Bu entered the hall, he glanced at the gathered group and raised an eyebrow in surprise. "You're all here?"
Princess Yaoye's beautiful eyes lifted slightly to examine Lu Bu as he walked in. His face was plain, and apart from the faint unique aura he exuded, there was nothing particularly noteworthy about his appearance. Was this man truly capable of refining a sixth tier pill?
Jia Xingtian's expression remained neutral, but he too was skeptical. Although he had personally witnessed Hai Bodong's strength soar and felt the oppressive aura Lu Bu exuded, the saying "youth is unreliable" lingered in his mind. Could this young man truly be as skilled as he claimed?
"The ingredients and the recipe?" Lu Bu asked, breaking the silence.
Jia Xingtian waved his hand, and a white storage ring flew toward Lu Bu. Catching it, Lu Bu quickly scanned its contents: a scroll containing the pill recipe and three sets of materials for refining the Hunyuan Bone Molding Pill.
"Purple Ginseng, Dragonhorn Lotus, Bone Cleansing Flower… All these are robust, aggressive healing herbs," Lu Bu thought with some astonishment. "As expected of a formula intended for magical beasts these ingredients are as intense as they come."
Then a thought struck him: Wait, could I use this too?
Raising an eyebrow, Lu Bu considered the possibility. With his physique rivaling that of magical beasts, having a powerful healing pill on hand could prove invaluable.
With a flick of his wrist, Lu Bu sent out several formation flags. Instantly, the space around the hall was sealed.
"Hai Bodong, guard the formation's core. The rest of you, leave," Lu Bu instructed as a gleaming cauldron thudded onto the ground.
Jia Xingtian, Princess Yaoye, and Xiao Yan all exited through the designated gap in the formation, standing just outside the hall. From there, they fixed their gazes on Lu Bu.
For Jia Xingtian and Princess Yaoye, this was their first time witnessing a sixth tier alchemist in action. Even Xiao Yan, though more experienced, was eager to observe Lu Bu's skills. Despite his confidence in his own abilities, he recognized that Lu Bu's soul power was leagues ahead of his own.
Inside the formation, Lu Bu remained composed, his expression calm as two or three dozen medicinal herbs floated into the air.
Under Lu Bu's meticulous control, the Dragonhorn Lotus was the first to enter the cauldron. The moment it did, surging blue flames engulfed it. In mere seconds, the herb was reduced to a fine black powder. The entire process took less than five breaths.
One after another, the remaining ingredients followed, entering the cauldron like dumplings dropped into boiling water.
Xiao Yan's gaze sharpened. Not only was Lu Bu's soul power formidable, but his alchemical techniques were also exceptional. From what Xiao Yan could tell, there was little difference between Lu Bu's methods and those of his teacher, Yao Lao.
"This guy… Just how did he reach this level?" Xiao Yan wondered, a twitch pulling at the corner of his mouth. Lu Bu's precise control over his soul power was nothing short of terrifying.
"Grandfather…" Princess Yaoye murmured, her long, slender neck moving slightly as she swallowed nervously. "This… this man is extraordinary!"
Although she had seen others refine pills before, the grace and fluidity of Lu Bu's actions were a stark contrast to the clumsy efforts she was used to.
"This is good news," Jia Xingtian said, relaxing slightly. With the Nether Sea Python Beast's recovery assured, the royal family's strength would no longer rest solely on his shoulders.
But a flicker of concern clouded Jia Xingtian's eyes. Yun Shan had already broken through to Dou Zong, adding significant pressure on him.
Inside the formation, Lu Bu's focus was unwavering as he controlled the flames within the cauldron. Refining the ingredients according to the recipe was the simplest step. The next stage involved fusing the extracted essences in precise proportions.
"This Hunyuan Bone Molding Pill is surprisingly straightforward…" Lu Bu mused. Compared to the complexity of the Restoration Violet Pill, which required nearly a hundred different ingredients, or the Imperial Pill, which demanded precise balancing of potent energies, this pill was refreshingly simple.
"It's more like a brute force remedy no concern for side effects, just raw, aggressive healing power."
A faint smile crossed Lu Bu's lips as he swiftly fused the medicinal liquids. Under the immense pressure of his soul power, the typically volatile ingredients merged seamlessly.
Within three hours, a rough, spherical pill began to take shape amidst the blue flames. A faintly greenish hue emanated from it, accompanied by a soft medicinal fragrance that filled the hall.
Outside, Jia Xingtian and Princess Yaoye exchanged a glance, their expressions lighting up with joy. In just five or six hours, using only a single set of ingredients, the pill was already nearing completion.
"Lu Bu's skills are incredible!" Princess Yaoye exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement. With the Nether Sea Python Beast's recovery imminent, the royal family's stability was guaranteed.
"Haha, this trade was worth it!" Jia Xingtian chuckled, stroking his beard. Whether for the pill or for Lu Bu himself, cooperating with him was a decision he had no regrets about.
Xiao Yan, meanwhile, clenched his fists as determination flickered in his eyes. The praise and admiration he had received recently had begun to cloud his focus, but witnessing Lu Bu's prowess served as a wake up call.
Just as the trio believed the session was over, they noticed Lu Bu stroking his chin thoughtfully, glancing between the newly formed pill and the cauldron before him.
Without hesitation, Lu Bu reignited the flames and began preparing a second batch.
"What… is he doing?" Jia Xingtian and the others were stunned. Was he making another pill?
