Felix spent the entire night writing an operating system and studying CAD, realizing that these were truly extraordinary tools.
His mind was constantly evolving, and this relentless progress only fueled his curiosity further. Once he finished his work, he placed the CAD into his inventory.
Right now, one thought occupied Felix's mind—creating a magical Arc Reactor and integrating it into his first suit.
As he was lost in thought, a message appeared on his screen.
[??? : Felix, we need to talk. Come to the top of Wayne Tower. 🦇🦇]
Seeing this, Felix frowned. It was obvious—this had to be Batman.
Without hesitation, he prepared his gear and set off.
Wayne Tower – Rooftop
(Batman's POV)
"Felix Bloodhound... This name echoes in my mind."
"This kid has a tragic past, and for some reason, I sympathize with him. But there's always the risk of him going astray. That's why I'm preparing a contingency plan just in case."
"Justice League has just been formed. He's a potential candidate. I would like to bring him into our ranks... Perhaps I should even adopt him. After all, he's an orphan. If he stays by my side, I can keep him under control."
As these thoughts crossed Batman's mind, Felix appeared before him, fully equipped.
Batman spoke in a serious tone: "Bloodhound, we need to talk."
Felix raised an eyebrow. "I'm listening."
Looking straight into Felix's eyes, Batman continued: "I'm inviting you to join the Justice League."
Felix didn't seem too pleased with the offer.
Batman pressed on: "Listen, no matter how much of a mercenary you are, there's always a chance to change. Believe me, you won't regret it."
Felix let out a sigh. "Fine. But I have conditions."
Batman hadn't expected that. "I'm listening."
Felix's requests were simple—an advanced laboratory equipped with the latest technology and a few secret safe houses.
But the last thing he said caught Batman off guard.
Felix smirked. "Bruce, I appreciate what you're trying to do. You're trying to help me, and I have no problem joining you. But tell me—why are you like this? Why not follow in your father's footsteps and take over Gotham's city government? Maybe you could have already cleaned up the corruption. And don't worry, your identity is safe with me. I won't tell anyone."
Batman's expression hardened. Felix knowing his identity proved how dangerous and intelligent he really was. But at the same time, it also showed why he was a valuable candidate for the Justice League.
Batman clenched his fists beneath his cape, locking eyes with Felix.
Batman:"I know you've analyzed me, but let me ask you this, Bloodhound… Why are you like this? Why be a mercenary? Your skills, intelligence, and power—you could use them for something greater."
Felix tilted his head slightly and let out a short chuckle.
Felix:"A purpose? My purpose is survival, Bruce. I don't have a legacy like you, or a sacred war to fight. I just want to be on the winning side."
Batman didn't break eye contact.
Batman:"Justice isn't a side, Bloodhound. But I understand—you have your own rules. I'll agree to your conditions."
Felix nodded.
Felix:"Great. Then we have a deal."
Batman nodded in return, but deep down, he knew Felix was dangerous. He needed a plan to keep him in check.
Just as Felix was about to turn and leave, Batman's voice stopped him.
Batman:"And one more thing… I can save Gotham from behind my mask, not from behind a desk. You don't win wars with bureaucracy."
Felix smirked slightly.
Felix:"I expected you to say that. But one day, you might realize that a different path is necessary."
Felix looked up at the sky before vanishing into the night, leaving the rooftop. Batman watched him go for a moment.
Batman (inner monologue):"This kid… he's more dangerous than I thought. But maybe, just maybe, I can steer him in the right direction."
Batcave – Shortly After
Batman had returned to the Batcave after leaving Wayne Tower. Sitting at the Batcomputer, he pulled up Felix Bloodhound's file.
Alfred:"Is there a problem, sir?"
Bruce took a deep breath.
Batman:"Felix Bloodhound… He's far more intelligent and dangerous than I expected. He knows my identity, Alfred."
Alfred raised an eyebrow but remained calm.
Alfred:"Then are you planning to neutralize him or recruit him?"
Bruce studied the data on the screen—Felix's abilities, fighting style, history… He continued analyzing every detail.
Batman:"Eliminating him is not an option. But trusting him completely is impossible. He could be a great asset to the Justice League, but he's also a major risk."
Alfred remained silent for a moment before speaking calmly.
Alfred:"Then perhaps observation is the wisest course of action, sir. After all, some of the best allies start as adversaries."
Bruce nodded.
Batman:"You're right. I'll keep a close watch on him. If he shows any sign of being a threat…"
He didn't finish the sentence.
Just then, the Batcomputer issued an alert.
Batcomputer:"Unusual energy levels detected in Metropolis. Source unknown."
Bruce immediately brought up the satellite footage. A large building had exploded, and red lights were glowing in the sky.
Batman:"This… looks like Kryptonian technology."
Alfred took a step closer.
Alfred:"Could this be another one of Lex Luthor's schemes?"
Batman pondered for a moment before making a decision.
Batman:"This could be serious. I'll inform the Justice League. And I'll also notify Felix. If he truly intends to stand with us, now's the time to prove it."
He quickly sent an encrypted message to Felix.
[Batman: "There's an incident in Metropolis. If you're really part of this alliance, now's your time to show it."]
Felix (inner monologue):"So, Batman is testing me… Alright, Bruce. Let's play this game."
Without hesitation, Felix geared up and set off for Metropolis.
