Everyone was warning Wayne, not to fight him, even The Path. Inside Wayne's head, he saw millions of notifications, not to fight this guy, but Wayne still kept walking towards him.
Wayne grabbed his sword. While the man tried to budge through this bubble, he saw a boy walking towards him.
"Does he want to die?" The man laughed at Wayne, thinking he was dumb.
Kael sighed in the background, "So I guess he really wants this. You're an idiot." Kael sat on a rock behind him.
"We're not going anywhere, we'll watch you die... Wayne."
Wayne walked up to the man, staring him down.
"Hey. To be honest, I don't feel like fighting you. I just have this uncontrollable feeling that makes me wanna kill more. I just need to show the judges that I'm worthy enough to join and make one of the houses."
The man in the bubble was surprised. He's just like me, who can't control his feelings to kill. The man smiled.
"This ought to be an interesting fight."
The man placed his hand on the bubble. The bubble suddenly turned dark and gloomy. It began to wilt, deforming. The man stepped out of the deformed bubble, that had lost all the air inside it.
"Let's begin."
Wayne rushed toward the man at full speed, trying to slash the man with his sword. The man suddenly pulled out a pen, transforming into a black cane, deflecting Wayne's sword. Wayne was surprised, as his sword was way sharper and bigger than the man's cane, but it had no scratches on it. Wayne thought to himself...
"I need to find a way to summon my essence, or else I'm losing this fight."
"Sable Gaze."
A globe appeared in a man's hands.
"Ma'am, it appears that there is conflict happening in the forest right now with an unknown person."
All the attention in the room goes to a young lady, sitting in one of the five grand chairs, with four other people sitting next to her. Her face was fair, with a slight golden undertone, and her lithe body. Her hair was very long and silky, with deep auburn-colored strands with slight golden hints. It was none other than the ruler of House Elowen, Lysira Elowen. Her soft-toned voice projected to everyone.
"Yes, I'm well aware. He's back, Lucien Elowen, my older brother."
Everyone in the room was shocked. Someone in the room asked...
"Could it really be?"
Lucien Elowen was Lysira's elder brother, part of the Elowen bloodline. Lucien was supposed to be the next ruler of the house instead of Lysira, but the previous ruler, their father, decided to keep Lysira as his heir to the throne, even though everyone knew Lucien was far stronger than his dad and sister. Filled with rage, Lucien killed his own dad, causing him to be banished from the Kingdom of Eldora, never to be seen or heard from again...
Until now.
Everyone saw Lysira's deep emerald eyes, glistening at them.
Lysira leaned in a little bit, thinking of something.
"We have to find a way to neutralize him, or else he's gonna kill everyone in the forest. But how?"
The ruler next to Lysira, Varka Drakmor, suggested an idea to her.
"Why don't you go fight him yourself? After all, he is your blood-related sibling."
"I would if I could, but he's... too powerful. You don't know the capabilities he has."
Suddenly, the man projecting the globe noticed something.
"Ma'am, you might want to see what's going on right now."
Lysira kept ignoring him, too focused on thinking about how to stop her brother. The man repeated this a few times, trying to get her attention, until she finally noticed him.
"WHAT! Can't you see I'm trying to focus!"
"No Lysira, I think you should really look at this."
Lysira glanced at the globe, and she saw Wayne.
"No way. A recruit... is actually keeping up with my brother's attacks."
Wayne and Lucien kept attacking and deflecting each other but still hadn't landed a hit on each. Both Wayne and Lucien's weapons were scared degrading from all the sparks and attacks the two inflicted. It felt like the fight was never going to end.
The people watching the fight, including Kael, all admired and gazed at the two, impressed by how fast they were moving. It was like they were looking at streaks of light moving at all max speeds.
Wayne and Lucien bounced off each other's attacks, causing them to go airborne, they were fighting midair.
"It's time to finish this."
Lucien opened his palm, forcing his essence to travel to his palm. There was a black glowing light radiating out of Lucien's hand. His hand was aimed directly at Wayne, and a swift black ball appeared out of Lucien's hand.
"Withering Pulse!"
A swift black ball was headed directly to Wayne, but despite that, Wayne had a smirk on his face. He felt a sharp pain in his heart, the same feeling he had when fighting the Cyclops from before. The Path alerted Wayne, "Added one new move to the human database."
"I understand it now."
Lucien was confused. Understand?I shot a spell at him, and he doesn't react? Lucien glanced at Wayne, but he wasn't there, he disappeared. Lucien was surprised on how Wayne disappeared that fast. But then he saw a shadow moving at the edge of his peripheral vision.
"Shadow Step."
Wayne appeared right behind Lucien, with his sword ready to attack.
"No way. How did you-"
"Next time, don't let your guard down while fighting me."
Wayne winded up his sword, and slashed Lucien in the back, causing him to fall downwards, crashing into the ground, creating a huge crater. Dust flew around the crater, covering that whole area.
Kael and the others were shocked. Kael stood up from the rock, and he glanced up, viewing Wayne, floating in the air for a few seconds, before he also fell down into the ground, landing on his feet.
"No way, he really landed a hit on him."
Lysira and the others in the room viewed the globe, realizing that Wayne landed a hit on Lucien, sending the whole room into silence. Everyone's faces were pale and shocked. The immense essence and power radiated from the scene, causing the guys globe to break and stop projecting. Lysira looked down at the empty table.
"He really... slashed my brother into the ground."
Everyone stared into Lysira's eyes, shimmering with shock and surprise.
"Amazing."
"Unbelievable."
"What the."
They were all trying to process what just happened.
Wayne looked down at his hands, confirming that he really got a hit on Lucien. Suddenly, he heard a quiet rustle in the area of the crater. He saw a silhouette of a man coming out of the dust.
"Bind Roots."
Wayne's arms and feet suddenly get tied together, making him paralyzed, even though he couldn't see anything tying him down. His limbs started to become numb, as he tried to break through the invisible ropes.
Lucien walked out of the dust, surprising Wayne. Even thought Wayne did all that, Lucien was still unfathomed and had no injuries or scratches on his body. Lucien swiftly flickered his way, in front of Wayne.
"Not bad kid, you managed to get a hit on me, something I didn't expect. It's been a while since someone has managed to do that. But next time, don't underestimate the person your fighting. But since you did manage to hit me, I'll let you and the others live... for now. Bye."
Lucien flickered away from the scene, disappearing and leaving no trace of any evidence there. The invisible things tying him down had vanished, allowing Wayne to move freely again. His clothes were all ripped and sluggish, and he glanced up at the others, having all shocked and scared looks on their faces.
Kael walked up to Wayne, staring at him, and suddenly slapped him.
"Idiot, you could have got yourself killed. Next time, think before you act."
Kael signaled Wayne to follow him, but he stood still there.
"You guys go without me. I don't want to put you guys in danger anymore."
"Then promise me that you'll reach the end and meet us all there."
"Deal."
The rulers went back to watching the other recruits fight through the forest, while Lysira still thought about her brother and why he came back. Another ruler was also thinking about something. Caelen Vaelthorne, the ruler of House Vaelthorne, with an intrigued look on his face, had a suspicion about Wayne. He leaned forward, with his silver eyes shining.
"Very interesting. Just who are you, kid."
