Chapter 31 - The Cult’s Last Struggle

The city slept, unaware of the decisive battle unfolding in its shadows. Su Chen stood atop a quiet rooftop, looking down at an old, rusted warehouse—one of the final hiding places of the cult. His expression was calm, but his mana simmered like a rising tide.

"All scouts report confirmed. This is their last bastion," Ye Meng said beside him, her eyes sharp with focus.

Su Chen gave a nod. "One day. That's all we need. After tonight, the cult will be nothing but ash."

Elite troops took position around the building like shadows, ready to strike. Inside, dozens of desperate cultists knelt in front of a crude altar glowing with corrupted divine energy. Their leader, a gaunt man with hollow eyes, raised his hands high.

"We are the chosen! Sacrifice yourselves, and the gods shall lift our souls into salvation!"

Even in their broken state, many followers hesitated. Fear had begun to overcome faith.

Then—

BOOM!

The warehouse doors were blasted off their hinges in a shockwave of golden light. Su Chen stepped through the smoke, his presence like a blade cutting through the tension.

"I've come to end your delusion," he said coldly.

The cult leader snarled. "You don't understand! The gods are coming to cleanse this world. We welcomed them—you fight the inevitable!"

"They'll find no followers left to welcome them," Su Chen replied. "Only a graveyard."

The moment his words fell, battle erupted.

Ye Meng and the elite force charged in from all sides. Explosions of elemental power clashed with divine-imbued spells. The cult had some dangerous rituals and corrupted artifacts, but they were no match for Su Chen's prepared forces.

In the center of the chaos, the cult leader activated his final rite—sacrificing ten followers to summon a malformed avatar of divine corruption. The abomination roared, its twisted form rising like a demonic beast, tendrils whipping across the ground.

Su Chen calmly raised his hand.

Boom—

A single golden spear, formed from his Legendary Tier 11 mana, ripped through the monster's heart. It disintegrated in a blinding burst of energy. Silence fell.

The cultists who remained dropped their weapons, stunned. They had believed their god's power was absolute.

Su Chen walked up to the leader, now gasping on his knees.

"Any last words?" he asked.

"The gods… will make you suffer."

Su Chen didn't blink. "Let them try."

He finished the man in one blow.

Outside, the night felt eerily quiet.

But then the skies began to shimmer.

A deep, resounding voice echoed from above, not through sound, but directly into the minds of every awakened person on Blue Star.

"You've eliminated our last toys, Su Chen. Interesting. Since you like rushing so much… we'll oblige. Let the game begin sooner."

The clouds twisted unnaturally.

"Fourteen days. That's all you have left."

The pressure vanished, but the entire world seemed to freeze.

Su Chen stood still for a moment, his fists clenched.

"Fourteen days," he repeated under his breath. "Then let them come."
