Chapter 7 - Ignition Weapons

When they reach the resting area, not even a minute passes when Rodoj appears:

Rodoj: "Alright, you cowards! It's time for training!"

All the Ignition fighters hurry to follow Rodoj. They arrive at their training ground.

Rodoj: "You know your positions... to the statues!!"

Everyone stands at their designated spot.

Rodoj: "One... Two... Three—Strike them!"

As each one prepares and hits the statue, it shatters on the very first strike. They cheer for each other, and Rogan glances toward Himari.

Rogan: "What is that on your forehead?"

Himari: "What do you mean?"

Rogan: "A mark…I don't know…"

Himari: "And what about you? What is that?"

Rodoj laughs loudly.

Rodoj: "That mark, resembling flames on each of your foreheads, is the beginning of your mastery of Cyan in the Ignition Technique. And now, it's white—but it will evolve later. I'll leave that as a surprise for you… Now, behold the finest moment of your training: you will be introduced to your Ignition weapons!"

He enters a room and comes out carrying two weapons.

Rodoj: "This is the Raki Sword – the very one that saved you inside the pit, though you have yet to master fighting with it – and this is the Ghaiyan, which I favor!"

"Now, in this room, each of you is to enter and take one Raki Sword and one Ghaiyan! Come on!"

The fighters enter the room and find thousands of Raki Swords hanging with their sheaths—and thousands of Ghaiyan!

Each of them takes their arms and exits.

Rodoj: "Now, follow me…"

They reach a vast room of statues arranged in a single long horizontal row.

Rodoj: "The sword is for close combat, and the Ghaiyan is for both close and long-range… Now!"

He grabs the Ghaiyan and hurls it in the blink of an eye so that it smashes the statue, shattering it. Then, he draws his own Raki Sword and, as fast as lightning, attacks a statue and splits it in half.

Rodoj: "Everyone, grab your sword and get ready—remember how you felt when you struck it with your hands… Feel that power within your mighty Raki Sword… NOW!"

Some of them strike it fruitlessly, while some succeed. Rogan drives his sword into the statue's chest, and it hangs there…

Himari: "What's happening to you?"

Rogan: "It's stuck…"

He then refocuses on his sword, flames igniting it, and splits the statue in half.

Rogan: "Yes!! I did it."

Himari: "That's awesome!! But exhausting."

Rogan: "Yes, indeed."

Rodoj: "Oh, oh… Well done! Now, each of you, grab your own Ghaiyan and get ready to hurl it at the statue… Everyone, to your positions… NOW!!"

Some manage to merely touch the statue without effect, and some don't even get their Ghaiyan to reach it. Rogan looks at Himari and laughs at her because her Ghaiyan didn't hit the statue.

Himari: "Are you laughing at me? As if your Ghaiyan didn't even affect the statue…"

Rogan: "At least mine hit it!"

They both burst into laughter.

Rodoj: "What is this? Weaklings… cowards… What's wrong with you all?"

Rogan closes his eyes and suddenly remembers the first scorpion he saw in front of his house—as if it were coming right at him. He firmly grips his Ghaiyan and hurls it toward the statue. When he opens his eyes, he sees his Ghaiyan piercing through the statue's chest and lodging into the wall behind it. He then glances at the statue in front of Himari, its head lying on the ground, while many fighters succeed—and some are still trying…
