Jesse stood rooted to the spot, completely and utterly dumbfounded.

He hadn't prepared himself mentally for the painful shock of not being accepted into the academy.
In fact, he hadn't expected it at all.
How did he not make the cut? Why was he rejected despite doing so well in every test thrown at him?
He wanted to scream, he wanted to lash out, but instead, he just found himself standing there blankly, unable to even move.
He just couldn't fully register it into his head. How did this make any sense? How could he not be selected?!
Even Ibrahim's name had made it into the list, so how was his not there? How was that even possible? Was there some sort of mistake?
