Caught off guard, Anran was knocked to the ground, followed by a wet sensation on her face.
"Hahaha… that tickles!"
When she saw the black creature with golden eyes on top of her, Anran exclaimed in delight, "Adam! It's you!"
She quickly sat up and wrapped her arms around Adam's neck. His fur was warm and soft, so comforting that she couldn't help but nuzzle her face against it.
"Sweetheart, you're back!"
As Grandpa An stepped out of the house, he saw his granddaughter hugging a large animal. Curious, he asked, "Huh, sweetheart, do you know this big dog?"
Big dog…
How unobservant must Grandpa be to mistake a leopard for a large dog?
No wonder he hadn't noticed anything unusual about Roseville, even after being here for so long.
Anran decided not to correct him, simply saying, "Yes, Grandpa. His name is Adam, and he's a pet from one of my classmates."
Hearing this, Grandpa An looked a bit sad. The big dog didn't have a collar, and he had hoped it was a stray.
At that moment, Adam, with his almost human-like intelligence, let out a soft growl toward Grandpa An. Anran seized the opportunity to change the subject, "Grandpa, is dinner ready? I'm a little hungry."
The feeling of being needed instantly brightened Grandpa An's mood. "Your grandpa went fishing with Old Zhang today and caught a lot! I made fish soup. This big dog even ate half a fish earlier!"
Anran laughed. She figured her optimistic nature must have been inherited from her grandfather.
After Grandpa An went back into the kitchen, Anran looked at Adam and softly asked, "Adam, did Richard send you to protect me?"
Adam rubbed his head against Anran's cheek and let out a soft meow in response.
In that moment, a wave of happiness washed over Anran, bringing her nearly to tears. She stroked Adam's head and murmured, "Adam, I think I've fallen for your master…"

The next morning.
Anran opened the door with anticipation, and the handsome young man was there as expected.
"Good morning, Anran," Richard greeted her.
"Good morning, Richard," Anran replied with a smile.
Neither of them mentioned Adam, maintaining an unspoken understanding. While Anran wasn't looking, Richard quietly practiced again. He was so close this time, but just as he was about to touch her, the power of the cross repelled his hand. Still, he was gradually getting used to the pain.
On their way to school, they exchanged only a few casual words.
Oh, right! Mr. Sheffield found out about what Jason had done to Aiselle and gave him a thorough scolding. Rumor had it that Jason had been dealt with quite severely. Thinking about how arrogant that guy used to be, it was truly satisfying.
The day passed peacefully, and soon it was time to leave school.
Richard and Anran stood together, with a petite girl named Zhangning by their side.
Zhangning was extremely uncomfortable, but her timid nature made it impossible for her to disobey Lord Morris.
"Today, there's someone else joining us on the way home," Richard said with a mysterious smile.
Anran was puzzled by Richard's actions. Was he serious about what he said to Aning yesterday? Did he really arrange for someone to accompany her home?
Just as she was about to say something, a punk-style boy approached from a distance. He walked as if the wind was at his back.
From afar, he called out, "My dear Richard, I hear you have something urgent for me…"
Seeing the person's face, both Anran and Zhangning were shocked. The striking young man walking toward them was none other than Dylan Morris.
This campus prince was the person Richard had arranged? But he seemed completely unaware! What on earth was going on?
