Chapter 43 - chapter 43

Blue Star.

On the playground of Chicago University, the teachers remained gathered, their attention unwavering. The reason? The difference in time flow between the Spirit Realm and Blue Star was extraordinary.

No matter how long someone spent inside the Spirit Realm, only one hour would pass in the real world.

At this moment, the Vice-Principal stood on the playground, his expression dark, his eyes fixed on Teacher Adore and Teacher Shen with clear disapproval.

He never expected these two to make such a reckless decision—allowing Leo, a student with exceptional talent, to team up with someone deemed a poor performer with a weak ability, and then sending them into the dangerous Spirit Realm as a two-person team.

They didn't even fill the remaining team slots.

It was pure madness!

Chicago University had done everything possible to secure Leo's enrollment. The school even went as far as to change its admission standards, making an exception by admitting an additional student with subpar talent, just to accommodate Leo.

Naturally, this decision had drawn some negative attention.

News had already spread online, and many uninformed netizens were mocking Chicago University, accusing it of having loose management and accepting students through favoritism.

These rumors had already begun to affect the school's reputation.

But despite the backlash, Chicago University never regretted its choice.

Because if Leo could be nurtured into a top-tier powerhouse, the benefits to the university would far outweigh the criticism.

Before the Principal had left on a business trip, he had repeatedly instructed the Vice-Principal to ensure Leo's well-being.

Yet, in just the short span of an hour…

Everything had gone off the rails.

(Perhaps this was the Vice-Principal's own negligence—he had never imagined that Leo would act so impulsively.)

For the past hour, the Vice-Principal had been berating Teacher Shen and Teacher Adore nonstop, furious at their irresponsibility.

"If anything happens to Leo in the Spirit Realm," he had warned, "you two will be held fully accountable!"

The Countdown Ends

"Time's up! Last 30 seconds!"

A teacher in charge of timing called out.

Hearing this, the Vice-Principal was forced to halt his reprimands. He exhaled sharply and turned to address the assembled staff:

"Everyone, prepare to welcome them back."

All the teachers straightened up, positioning themselves in a formal stance to greet the returning students.

This was a special tradition—one reserved exclusively for freshmen.

A moment later, time was up.

In an instant, over two hundred figures materialized on the playground.

Their Return

Clap, clap…

The Vice-Principal took the lead in applauding, and the other teachers quickly followed suit.

"Students, welcome back!" he announced loudly.

The freshmen who had returned stood there in confusion.

Their memories were blank.

They couldn't recall anything that had happened in the Spirit Realm.

Their bodies bore no wounds, their clothes remained spotless, even their hairstyles were unchanged.

They looked exactly as they had before stepping into the Spirit Realm.

Many students even felt a strange illusion—had they actually left the playground at all?

This was the bizarre effect of the Amnesia Spirit Realm!

Suddenly, a teacher approached the Vice-Principal, speaking in a hushed tone:

"Sir, out of 300 students, 247 have returned. The remaining 53... have not."

He didn't need to finish his sentence—the implication was clear.

Since the Spirit Realm's teleportation function always recalled students at the exact same time, those who didn't return... never would.

The Vice-Principal's expression darkened.

A one-sixth attrition rate?

For an ordinary academy, this might be acceptable.

But for Chicago University—one of the most prestigious institutions, with students of high talent—this was excessive.

"Immediately notify the parents of the deceased students and proceed with the necessary arrangements," he ordered.

The reporting teacher nodded and set off to complete the task.

Fortunately, handling these cases wasn't difficult.

Because, according to national regulations, schools were not responsible for student deaths within the Spirit Realm.

This rule had been accepted for years, and it was rare for grieving parents to cause a scene at a Super University.

After all, the Spirit Realm was inherently dangerous.

Even top-ranked powerhouses couldn't guarantee survival.

For freshmen, the risks were even greater.

From the very beginning, every Spirit Realm trip had always been a matter of life and death.

Leo is Safe

Once the Vice-Principal finished giving his orders, his eyes searched the crowd anxiously.

When he spotted Leo standing unharmed among the students, he let out a breath of relief, his expression easing slightly.

Then, stepping forward, he addressed the freshmen through a microphone:

"Students, please remain here for a moment. The school cafeteria has prepared a special feast for you all. Once the Spirit Realm finalizes your performance records, you may head over to eat and rest."

Because the first ten floors of the Spirit Realm were mandatory, and many students were involved, the realm required time to process their performance data.

Thus, upon exiting, students did not immediately receive their rankings or rewards.

Within the next thirty minutes, however, each freshman's results would be gradually announced.

For floors beyond the eleventh, things worked differently—results and rewards were settled instantly upon mission completion.

The Vice-Principal continued, "Students who have received their results should immediately report them to their assigned teachers."

This was necessary because the university needed to document student performance.

These records would later influence class placements, resource allocations, and training programs.

The First Results Are In

Soon enough, the first batch of students received their results.

Four students raised their hands, signaling to their teacher.

"Teacher, we've received our performance rewards."

The four belonged to the same team, meaning they had completed their Spirit Realm journey together.

All eyes turned toward them.

These students were from Class A, one of the elite groups.

Teacher Shen immediately stepped forward.

"Display your reward panel in your left eye," she instructed.

A Superhuman's left-eye attribute panel was private, invisible to others.

But the reward panel—which contained Spirit Realm performance results—could be shared at will.

Hearing her request, the four students concentrated, activating their panels mentally.

Even so, their results remained hidden from everyone else.

Teacher Shen then pointed to one of the students, a girl, and lightly tapped her forehead.

Instantly—

The student's reward panel transferred into Teacher Shen's left eye.

It was like using a card reader to extract data.

A truly magical ability!

The Spirit Realm and the Holy Land—both were mysterious, super-dimensional entities far beyond human comprehension.

Of course, only Superhumans had the power to read another's reward panel.

Ordinary humans couldn't do this.

After scanning the data, Teacher Shen began reading aloud:

Then, she announced their performance results:Enemies Defeated: 37Overall Rating: B-LevelGlobal Freshman Ranking: 179th placeBasic Reward: 97 Spirit Energy PointsSince all four belonged to the same team, their rewards were identical.

Many students gasped in admiration.

A global ranking of 179 was impressive, proving that these four had performed exceptionally well.

A nearby teacher swiftly recorded their results in the school's database.

Meanwhile, Teacher Shen smiled at them.

"Well done," she praised.
