Chapter 2: The Encounter with Kaela**
Kaden walked hesitantly, his hands pressed into the pockets of his coat holed. He still felt the electricity running under his skin, as a constant reminder of what had happened to him. The three forces in him - the lightning of Zeus, the regeneration of Osiris, and the shadow of Hel - seemed to calm down, but they were still there, waiting, watching.
He had left the ruins after killing the monster, his mind boiling. He didn't know where to go or what to do. All he knew was that he couldn't stay there.
A sound of footsteps behind him startled him. He turned round abruptly, his eyes searching in the dark. A figure emerged from the shadow, a woman dressed in a military uniform, her silver hair cut short and her icy eyes fixed on him.
"You're lucky I got there in time," she said in a calm but firm voice. "These things don't die so easily."
Kaden took a step back, ready to flee." Who are you?"
"Kaela," she simply replied. "And you are the one who awakened three gifts in one night. Not bad for a kid from the ruins."
Kaden felt his heart racing. How did she know? He hadn't talked to anyone, he hadn't even had time to think about what had happened to him.
"Don't worry," said Kaela, raising a hand to appease him. "I'm not here to hurt you. On the contrary, I'm here to help you. But you have to come with me. Now."
Kaden hesitated. He didn't know if he could trust her, but he didn't really have a choice. He nodded slowly.
Kaela motioned for her to follow her, and they set out through the dark streets of the mega-pole. Kaden noticed that she was carrying a strange weapon, a blade of ice that seemed to float in the air next to her.
"You are an Awakened One," he said at last, breaking the silence.
Kaela nodded." Just like you now. But three gifts... it's something I've never seen."
They arrived in front of an imposing building, guarded by soldiers in heavy armor. Kaela nodded at them, and they stepped aside to let them pass.
"Where are we?" asked Kaden, his eyes running through the dark and austere corridors.
"Awakened Academy," Kaela replied. "This is where you will learn to master your powers." And where you will discover what it really means to be an Awakened One."
Kaden felt a mixture of excitement and fear invade him. He didn't know what to expect, but one thing was certain: his life would never be the same.
