Chapter 29 - The Shadow War Begins

The Hellion outpost burned.

Smoke curled into the night sky, the scent of blood and scorched metal thick in the air. The resistance moved fast, stripping the base of everything useful—ammo, armor, data from Hellion terminals.

But Ryo?

Ryo was already thinking ahead.

Because this wasn't just a hit-and-run.

This was the first move in a war.

War Needs Weapons

Serra stood over a stolen Hellion data terminal, her cybernetic eye scanning the interface.

> "Their inventory is intact. We've got rifles, explosives, even some prototype gear."

Karin grinned. "Hellion's gonna love getting shot with their own weapons."

Vos checked a crate of stolen ammo. "This gives us firepower, but not an army."

Ryo folded his arms. "Then we build one."

The Next Target

Serra pulled up a holographic map.

Three red markers glowed.

> "Hellion controls everything because they control information. Their patrol routes, supply chains, troop deployments—all of it runs through their main data hubs."

She pointed to the closest marker.

> "There's a relay station 50 miles east. If we take it, we cut off Hellion's ability to track resistance movements in this sector."

Vos nodded. "That means we can move without them seeing us coming."

Karin smirked. "And ambush them however we want."

Ryo studied the map.

Hellion was powerful, but they weren't invincible.

Cut their supply lines. Jam their communications. Strike where they don't expect.

Turn their own technology against them.

> "Yeah, rookie. This is how you start a real war."

Ryo's grip tightened.

"Then we hit the relay station next."

Serra smiled. "Then let's make Hellion blind."

Marching to War

The resistance geared up.

Weapons were checked. Blades sharpened.

The stolen Hellion transport rumbled to life.

Ryo climbed onto the roof, looking over his new army.

They weren't just survivors anymore.

They were soldiers.

And this?

This was just the beginning.
