6 years.
It has been 6 long years since I got reincarnated in this world and I'm now 6 years old, almost 7.
Nothing much really happened in that timespan but I guess a good news is that I'm now able to function properly as well as talk.
My Mother stills pampers me way too much, and even sometimes tries to baby me.
Ofcourse I never entertained that thought after all I feel immense guilt and embarrassment every time I get babied by her, I have some conscience too.
I mean I've noticed that my Mother seems much more doting to me, her child. Compared to other Mothers out there, I think that if I did a comparison, then my Mother might be one of the most doting Mother out there.
I don't really know if I was in a great time or if this was the start of a hellish future.
My Dad on the other hand seems more keen on trying to influence me to become a swordsman, guessing from how much he shows me colored books about heroes fighting with swords and all.
Really subtle Dad.
My Mother is a housewife and my Father is an Adventurer that goes out to fight earn mora.
My Mother seems like the energetic type and my Father on the other hand seems more like a battle junkie who is pretty calm in person.
Anyway, my Parents seems like a weird pair but somehow they get along very well.
I guess that love truly works in mysterious ways. I wonder if I will ever experience that? (Died a virgin)
Anyway, in this year. I have been able to see more and more about the outside world. Mostly because I often get brought over to visit Nilou and her family when my Parents have free time or day offs.
But that's beside the point. In this year I've been able to found out more about this world from gathering informations from the gossiping of housewives or just some casual conversations of people. I mostly found out more information about Sumeru since that's where I currently live in after all.
First of all, let me first talk about the elements of this world.
Remember that time when I saw my Dad create fire from his bare hands infront of me? Yeah, it seems like my Dad has been recognized by a God and that they bestowed him his Vision and gave him the ability to use and create fire.
In this world, only people who has been recognized by the Gods could acquire Visions and use a certain element. And once you obtained one, it would only be usable by you and you cannot earn anymore Vision of the other elements.
I wonder if there is a basis of what vision you could get..?
Anyway, let me discuss all the elements of this world.
Pyro, the one my Dad showed me basically lets you create and use the power of fire.
Anemo, is the power to create and use the power of Wind.
Hydro, it basically lets you create and use Water.
Geo, it allows you to use or create earth.
Cryo, it allows the user to create Ice.
Dendro, allows the user to use or create plants or anything related to Nature though it is quite limited.
And finally, Electro. It allows you to create streaks of lightnings.
Now, why is this important? Well, we'll get to that later. For now, let me explain more about this world.
This World- Teyvat, despite having a mix of old civilization but also modern, weirdly only has 7 Nations in it.
If this world was pretty modern then I would've guessed that there was more Nations in it but it seems not.
In this world there are only 7 Nations and in each of these 7 Nations has a God or is also called Archons that protects or leads their Nations.
The nations has some unique traits that differs them from each other.
Also, each Nation's Archons is also tied down to a certain element.
Basically, it goes like this.
Mondstadt is a Nation in the far East from Sumeru and its Archon is bound to Anemo, and the unique trait of this Nation is that it values freedom more than anything.
Next is Liyue, just a little East from us. It is a Nation of Contracts or whatever it meant. Its Archon is bound to Geo.
Inazuma, my informants (Housewives) information about it is quite lacking but I know that it is led by the Archon who is tied to Electro.
Fontaine, it is led by the Hydro Archon. It seems like that Nation is all about Justice. It seems like the technology there is also quite advanced from what I've heard.
Now, 2 Nations have been quite hard to find informations about since it seems like their Nation is quite enclosed from the outside world.
Natlan, I don't know anything much about it other than it is led by the Pyro Archon, the same for Snezhnaya which is led by the Cryo Archon.
I wanted to find out more about those two Nations but I can't exactly do that yet since I'm still pretty much a brat who still can't take care of himself.
Anyway, Sumeru. It is the Nation I'm in and it is a Nation led by...
The Dendro Archon..?
My uncertainty stems from the fact that despite our Nation being supposedly led by the Dendro Archon or is also known as lesser lord kusanali, it doesn't seem like anyone mentions them, and it doesn't seem like they even exist at all.
Though, my parents are one of the few people who worship the lesser lord kusanali, they seem to pray to them every day. And even when I ask, they seem to avoid mentioning anything about it. Just mentioning that the lesser lord kusanli is our kind God.
By now, I'm certain that something bullshit is happening in this Nation and their Archon but until I'm all grown up then I'm not getting any more information about it. Not like even if I knew, I would be doing anything and get involved in their affairs.
I mean, what could a Normal guy even do against the rulers of this Nation?
And I'm not really the heroistic type.
Another thing is that this Nation is all about Wisdom and only a select few could enter the Akademiya, the main feature of this Nation. An Institution for Knowledge.
It is apparently full of Scholars from and out of this Nation, the Akademiya is pretty much the Harvard of this world.
Despite that, it seems like the Akademiya's rulers, The Sages manages the Nation too.
Another thing is that the people of Sumeru uses an ornament in their left ear in the shape of tear-drop shape.
This ornament is called the Akasha Terminal, people receive one at the coming of age or in this world is 16. It is basically Chat GPT but 100x better.
It basically stores knowledge and if you have any Question regarding anything then just think about it and then poof, the answer would immediately be inside your brain, as if you studied it for centuries.
Ofcourse it has certain limitations and the Akademiya controls what can and can't be known but it is still quite useful.
Yet, I don't think I ever will want to wear one.
It just seems suspicious and very unnerving to know that informations can immediately be ingrained in your brain. Call me skeptical but I wouldn't trust anything of that sorts.
What if it can also mind control us?
The thought just spikes all of my senses.
Just hell no.
Anyway, hat's pretty much all I know about the Nations of Teyvat.
Moving on to my eyes.
It honestly surprised me when I first saw my eyes in a mirror. It was gold in color, it was almost like it was glowing.
It almost looked divine.
But that what was even weirder was that. Even though it was faint, I could see some sorts of circular patterns outside my irises and my iris is oval in shape with some spike on the sides.
Honestly, it was very weird. I would have chalked it up into a norms in this world but that wasn't the case at all.
My Parents have normal eyes and my Father has red eyes while my Mother has green.
It honestly doesn't make sense that I would have Gold eyes.
So, what did I think when I realized the oddness of it?
Well, I thought that I finally got a cheat.
I thought that I had some special powers which honestly excited me as much as I don't want to admit it. And so I tried everything in my years of knowledge to try to see this supposed power.
Sharingan! Nothing..
Byakugan.! None...
Geass..! Nada.
Limitless...! Nope. I was honestly looking forward for this one.
But no matter how hard I focused and tried, nothing really happened.
I mean, I already knew that getting powers with some unknown reason was bullshit but I still hoped for something.
But it was all for naught, so I just guessed that it had something to do with my reincarnation.
I mean, there wouldn't really be any other explanations about it.
Not like something else transpired before my reincarnation.
Anyway that's pretty much everything.
"Lux!"
A sudden voice rang and the door to my room burst open showing a certain red haired girl.
It was Nilou.
My Parents and her Parents as close as they are always let me and Nilou meet, whether it was her coming over to my house or the other way around.
Because of me and Nilou being together since birth. Just like what anyone would expect, we were close. Just like what siblings are.
Honestly, it has been pretty fun being with this energetic girl. As much as I want to admit, if it weren't for her then I would probably be always stuck in this house lazing around.
"Came to drag me again to another one of your shenanigans Nilou?" I asked teasingly looking at her smiling face.
Hearing my teasing words Nilou showed an awkward smile before she looked at me with a shy gaze twirling in her place with her heels.
"Hehe... Well, yes. But this time it's really important!"
Important? The last time she said something like that, she made me watch and dance with her in her house with our Parents watching us with an interested look.
"More important than that time you made me wear those Clothes which is pretty revealing by the way, and made me dance with you?"
She puffed up her cheeks, "That was because you were being so cooped up in your room!" She added. "Besides, it was practice for the both of us! It was also very fun watching you awkwardly dance hehe.."
"It was very cute." She added looking at me with a straight face.
Cute...? Who is?
"Stop with the lies."
"It wasn't a lie though..?" She tilted her head slightly looking at me confused.
"..."
Seriously this girl is way too honest..
I awkwardly cleared my throat. "...Anyway, enough teasing, what is it this time?" I asked laced with curiosity.
She perked up at my question as if remembering her purpose of visiting and came closer to me excitedly and explained. "Did you forget already? Today is the start of the preparation for Sabzerus Festival! You definitely have to come. Mom is already at the theater!
"The Sabzerus Festival..?" I muttered. "That was today?"
"Yup, and I already asked Uncle and Aunty for permission to bring you at the theater so you can't escape!"
My brows twitched, "This little girl..."
The Sabzerus Festival is a festival that happens to celebrate the birthday of the lesser lord kusanali, our Archon.
Remember what I told you about it being not talked about by people? Well, in this Festival, everyone in the theater under the plaza of Sumeru City worships and celebrates her birthday every time.
The theater is called the Zubayr Theater, it is where Nilou and her Mother is always at. It is where Nilou is the most happiest.
It is a pretty fun Festival overall but...
"Won't those retarded bookworms from the Akademiya come and shut down the Festival again like last year?" I asked.
Last year, the Akademiya suddenly cut off any fundings for the theater, making the theater not be able to prepare for the Sabzerus Festival.
The theater ofcourse didn't give up and used their own Mora's to fund the festival but before we could even finish up the preparation, the retarded bookworms from the Akademiya showed up and directly shut off any works for it.
We couldn't go against them or risk getting arrested and put to jail for going against their orders.
And so, the Sabzerus was forced to be shut down. Which greatly saddened Nilou and everyone at the theater.
I couldn't forget Nilou's crying face that day.
Anyway..
High ranking officials in the Akademiya hates the theater and for what they do, which is all about arts.
It seems like they hate everything related to art and favors only those that values knowledge more than anything.
They have been causing more uproar and is becoming more and more annoying nowadays not just at the theater but also to some of the Scholars in the Akademiya.
Nilou showed a smug smile. "Hehe... That's not gonna happen this year. Uncle Zubayr told me that the Festival would be an unofficial one so those people from the Akademiya can't do anything about it."
"Besides, we're keeping it really quiet this time and only the ones from the theater knows that the festival will happen. So we can definitely do the festival!"
That's a pretty good plan as long as no one snitches to the Sages that is. But, the people in the theater seems like the genuine bunch so that might not be a problem.
But... Well, who knows really.
"Unless someone snitches us to the sages that is."
"That won't happen, everyone at the theater is trustworthy! So, will you come?"
I sighed in resignation. "Alright, I'll come. Mom would nag me too if I didn't come and help for the festival."
Nilou beamed. "Yes! You definitely won't regret it! Now come on, let's go, our dancing practice today is going to be super important for the festival!"
I stretched and got off my bed, yawning as I followed her to the door. "Yeah, yeah, let's go and practi-" My words cut short before I realized something, "Wait, hold on a second. Practice?"
She froze mid-step hearing my words.
"…Uh…" Nilou turned to me slowly with a sheepish smile, hands behind her back like she just got caught stealing sweets.
"Nilou." I narrowed my eyes.
She began nervously rocking on her heels, giving me the most suspiciously innocent look she could muster. "W-Well… you see… um…"
"Nilou." I repeated, my voice growing with dread with realization.
"H-Hehe… surprise?" she said weakly, and then made a dash for it and ran out of the door.
"You signed me up to dance in the Sabzerus Festival again, didn't you!?" I rushed after her.
She quickly ran out to the stairs giggling lightly as I fumingly rushed after her.
