Although Zhou Yi said that everyone was given a quarter of an hour to change clothes, in reality, the slowest person took less than ten minutes, and all the students quickly dressed neatly and sat in the classroom.
A quarter of an hour later, Zhou Yi arrived in the classroom on time. Looking at the hundred students below her, she nodded and said, "Let's begin class now. I'm generally satisfied with your test results, and most of you have completed this simple assessment. Huo Yuhao, stand up."
"Yes, Teacher Zhou." Huo Yuhao stood up quickly, his back straight.
Zhou Yi said coldly, "Tell me your soul power level."
"Yes. My soul power is at level eleven," Huo Yuhao replied respectfully. He already knew, from the moment Teacher Zhou mentioned his name, that although she appeared harsh, she actually knew her students very well. He was afraid he wouldn't be able to hide his cultivation level from others.
When the words "level eleven" were spoken, all the students present showed doubt in their eyes.
"Yes, Huo Yuhao's soul power is only level eleven. I know you're all curious how he passed the academy's assessment and became a freshman. I will only answer this question once. From now on, no one is allowed to question him on this matter unless he is eliminated."
"He is a specially invited student of the academy and didn't need to pass the entrance test. However, this is the only exception for special invitation students. If you fail to complete the learning tasks given by the academy, you will also be eliminated. Alright, Huo Yuhao, sit down."
"Thank you, Teacher." Huo Yuhao sat back down, though he couldn't help but feel surprised. Clearly, Teacher Zhou was protecting him! By explaining the reason he was accepted despite his low soul power, no one would dare make trouble for him in the future.
Zhou Yi didn't seem to care about the students' reactions. She turned around and wrote two large characters on the blackboard: "Attack" and "Defense."
Wang Feng listened to the class absentmindedly, hearing Teacher Zhou praise soul tools. In fact, Wang Feng had studied soul tools before, but he didn't seem to have any outstanding talent in that area. It was better for him to focus on cultivation!
So, after studying for a while, Wang Feng gave up. It couldn't be forced. His cultivation speed was already very slow, and he couldn't afford to be distracted by other things.
"That's the end of this morning's class. Don't say I didn't remind you to eat well at noon. You'll be doing physical training starting this afternoon. Okay, class dismissed. Huo Yuhao, come with me to the office."
After saying this, Zhou Yi turned and left without hesitation. Of course, the bell signaling the end of class hadn't even rung yet.
Huo Yuhao stood up and followed Zhou Yi out. Wang Feng was delighted to hear that class ended early.
After Zhou Yi and Huo Yuhao left the classroom, he went straight to the cafeteria to eat.
When he arrived, he headed directly to the food window to place his order. Near the window, he saw a familiar figure—it was Wang Dong.
Out of curiosity, Wang Feng approached Wang Dong.
"Why are you just standing here?" Wang Feng asked.
Wang Dong snorted softly and glanced at Wang Feng with a reluctant expression. "None of your business," he said haughtily, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
Wang Feng raised an eyebrow. "Oh? So you're just standing here alone for no reason?"
Wang Dong clicked his tongue, then glanced at the food line with a nearly invisible look. He actually wanted to eat in the cafeteria, but… he had just realized that he forgot to bring money. However, admitting something like that was clearly not his style.
Wang Feng studied his expression for a moment before smiling. "Don't tell me you came here but forgot to bring money?" he teased.
Wang Dong flinched, then quickly put on an angry face. "Of course not! I just… just haven't decided what to eat yet!" he said a bit louder than necessary.
Wang Feng held back a laugh. He could already guess what had actually happened but didn't want to embarrass Wang Dong. "In that case, I'll go ahead and eat," he said casually and walked toward the cashier.
However, when he reached the food window, he pretended to think hard. "Hmm… if I order too much, it'd be a waste if no one helped me finish it…" he muttered loud enough for Wang Dong to hear.
Wang Dong glanced at him out of the corner of his eye but remained silent.
Wang Feng then deliberately turned to him. "Hey, you. Since you haven't decided what to eat, how about eating with me? I don't mind sharing."
Wang Dong stared at him sharply, wanting to refuse, but his stomach growled quietly before he could speak. His face instantly turned red.
Wang Feng pretended not to hear and smiled even wider. "Alright then, I'll order more," he said without waiting for Wang Dong's response.
Wang Dong clenched his fists, wanting to argue, but in the end, he just snorted and turned away. "…Whatever," he said in a haughty tone, but quietly followed him to the dining table.
Wang Feng chuckled inwardly. 'This kid is really stubborn.'
They sat down together, and although Wang Dong tried to act like he didn't care, he quickly started enjoying the meal.
After finishing lunch, they took a short walk to help digest the food. Their relationship began to improve quickly—as expected, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.
Afterwards, they returned to the room and found Huo Yuhao meditating.
Wang Dong stared at Huo Yuhao for a moment, then asked curiously, "Wang Feng, do you know what Yuhao's martial soul is? I've never seen it."
Wang Feng casually replied, "His martial soul is his eyes."
Wang Dong's eyes widened. "His eyes?" he repeated in disbelief.
"Yes," Wang Feng confirmed again.
"That's pretty rare, isn't it?" Wang Dong asked, still surprised.
"But your martial soul is even rarer, isn't it?" Wang Feng asked in return with a slight smile. "If I'm not wrong, it's called the Bright Butterfly Goddess."
Wang Dong immediately tensed up. "W-What else do you know besides that?" he asked a little nervously.
"Hmm, not much. I just know that the Bright Butterfly Goddess is the most beautiful butterfly-type martial soul on the continent," Wang Feng answered casually.
Wang Dong sighed in relief after hearing that answer and quickly changed the subject.
"By the way, what's your martial soul? I'm quite curious about that," Wang Dong asked, trying to find another topic to talk about.
Wang Feng gave a mysterious smile. "My martial soul is a bit strange. This isn't the right time to reveal it."
Seeing Wang Feng reluctant to answer, Wang Dong didn't press further. They continued chatting while waiting for Huo Yuhao to finish meditating.
A moment later, Huo Yuhao opened his eyes. In front of him, Wang Feng and Wang Dong were chatting quite comfortably.
Seeing how close they seemed, Huo Yuhao felt a slight tightness in his chest. However, he quickly pushed the feeling aside and cleared his throat to get their attention.
Wang Feng and Wang Dong turned toward the sound and realized Huo Yuhao had finished meditating.
Without wasting time, Wang Feng and Wang Dong invited him to head to class, as their afternoon lesson was about to start.
On the way, Wang Dong turned to Huo Yuhao and asked, "By the way, what's your first soul skill?"
Huo Yuhao gave a slight smile. "It's better if I just show you."
Without much explanation, he activated his soul skill and let Wang Dong experience the effect directly.
Everything within a thirty-meter radius suddenly became crystal clear, and the data-based feedback left Wang Dong a little dazed. It was like a blind person suddenly being able to see the world clearly—this kind of shock was something every soul master experienced the first time they encountered Huo Yuhao's spiritual detection sharing.
Wang Dong stared in awe. He never expected a ten-year-old soul ring to grant such an amazing ability.
As he focused his attention, Huo Yuhao didn't notice that the light gold color in his eyes had deepened significantly, and the mental fluctuations he released had become much stronger. The initially all-encompassing mental detection slowly began to concentrate forward.
Wang Dong also noticed a change in the detection. He found that the three-dimensional images on his left, right, and behind had disappeared. Only the image in front remained, and its range gradually expanded.
A few seconds felt longer to Huo Yuhao than the previous fifteen minutes of full-range detection. He could only feel his soul power being rapidly converted into mental power and then vanishing. In a short moment, a wave of weakness washed over him.
Seeing this, Wang Feng quickly caught and held onto Huo Yuhao.
"Yuhao, what's wrong with you?" Wang Feng asked in confusion. Previously, when Huo Yuhao had used his ability on Wang Feng and Bei Bei, this hadn't happened.
Huo Yuhao's face was pale, sweat beading on his forehead. He looked very weak.
Wang Feng stared at him, slightly dazed by his current appearance. But he quickly shook his head. No! What am I thinking? Why am I having thoughts like this at a time like this?
Still in Wang Feng's arms, Huo Yuhao waved his hand and said, "I'm fine. I just ran out of mental power. Wang Dong, when you looked straight ahead, how far was my detection range?"
After thinking for a moment, Wang Dong replied, "I didn't pay close attention, but it seemed like around fifty or sixty meters. There was no detection behind or to the sides. Just forward, and the distance had almost doubled."
Hearing that, Huo Yuhao instantly felt invigorated, and his fatigue lessened greatly. "Great. It really worked. But the mental energy consumption is a bit too much."
"What do you mean, Yuhao?" Wang Feng asked with a hint of curiosity upon seeing his expression.
Huo Yuhao smiled, then recounted his experience with Zhou Yi. Teacher Zhou Yi had taken him to meet a teacher named Fan Yu.
"Teacher Fan Yu once said that if my spiritual detection range could reach a hundred meters, I would be accepted as his disciple."
After Huo Yuhao finished sharing, Wang Feng and Wang Dong exchanged glances. They could see the burning spirit in Huo Yuhao's eyes, even though his body still appeared weak from mental exhaustion.
"In that case, you have to be more careful when using it," Wang Feng said, patting Huo Yuhao's shoulder. "Don't go fainting in the middle of the road."
Huo Yuhao gave a small smile and nodded. "I understand. I just need to train more so I can control it better."
Wang Dong folded his arms and said, "Either way, you should take better care of your body. Don't overexert yourself just to improve your detection range."
Huo Yuhao smiled again, feeling warmth from his friends' concern.
