Chapter 16 - Bicycle vs. Cullinan

When Chen Zishi heard Chu Bai's plan to switch seats with Wen Jing, his sullen expression instantly brightened.

He'd gotten his 1,000 yuan back from Chu Bai and planned to use it to repay Wen Jing. But he'd struggled to find a chance to speak to her directly. If Chu Bai could swap seats with her, it'd be perfect.

Of course, Chen Zishi was too naive.

Chu Bai's real goal was sitting beside Xu Muyan—helping Chen Zishi was just a convenient excuse.

Naturally, Chu Bai would never admit that.

Under Chen Zishi's hopeful gaze, Chu Bai grabbed a few test papers and strode to Wen Jing's desk.

"Wen Jing, mind swapping seats? I need to ask Xu Muyan about some problems," he said with a forced smile.

Wen Jing, absorbed in her homework, frowned at the interruption. Her annoyance doubled when she saw Chu Bai's deskmate was *that* Chen Zishi.

She couldn't stand the guy.

"No," she snapped.

Wang Haoran's earlier instructions were complete, and without new orders, she had zero interest in humoring Chen Zishi.

"I've got tons of questions—studying's important! We're classmates; can't you do me a solid? You can study anywhere!" Chu Bai argued.

"Stop guilt-tripping me. This is *my* seat. Now leave me alone!" Wen Jing shot back.

Chu Bai clenched his fists but swallowed his anger. With Xu Muyan watching and Chen Zishi ready to white-knight, he had no choice but to slink back to his seat.

Chen Zishi's hopeful expression crumbled into disappointment. He glared at Chu Bai before turning away.

Chu Bai fumed silently.

Then—

Wang Haoran stood up.

"Wen Jing, mind switching seats?"

Though Wen Jing's eyes flashed with resentment, she obediently stood. As they passed each other, Wang Haoran subtly brushed her hand—a silent reassurance that sweetened her mood instantly.

Wang Haoran spent a few minutes discussing coursework with Xu Muyan before pausing.

"The teacher praised your essay today. Writing's my weak point—mind if I borrow yours for reference?"

"Yours isn't bad either," Xu Muyan smiled, handing him her notebook.

"I'll return it tomorrow."

"Sure."

Every person's handwriting had unique quirks. Mimicking it perfectly was nearly impossible—unless you had **Grandmaster-Level Replication Skills**.

This was just step one of Wang Haoran's plan.

Meanwhile, Chu Bai's Meltdown**

Chu Bai seethed in his seat.

*That bitch Wen Jing! Ignores me but jumps for Wang Haoran?*

"Who the hell are you calling a bitch?!" Chen Zishi roared, drawing the entire class's attention.

Chu Bai shut his mouth, humiliation burning his ears.

It was clear: with Wang Haoran around, his "study sessions" with Xu Muyan were over. So was his flirting plan.

His mind drifted to another target—Song Zhenyu.

Compared to a schoolgirl like Xu Muyan, the mature teacher was far more enticing.

*And her place is on my way home…*

A new scheme took shape.

With under 100 days until college entrance exams, Chu Bai had no intention of studying. His X-ray vision guaranteed he'd cheat his way into a top university anyway.

---

### **After Evening Classes**

Chu Bai lingered, packing his bag slowly while watching the faculty office.

When Song Zhenyu finally emerged, he hurried to the bike shed and pedaled his rusty bicycle to the school gates—timing it perfectly to "accidentally" meet her.

"Song Teacher! What a coincidence!" He braked beside her.

"Chu Bai?" She blinked. "Classes ended ages ago. Why are you still here?"

The campus was nearly empty.

"I'm behind on studies. Gotta put in extra hours," he lied, scratching his head like a model student.

"Your grades *have* improved. Keep it up!" she encouraged.

"Thanks, Teacher!" He grinned, then pivoted:

"You're walking? Let me give you a ride!"

Song Zhenyu hesitated.

"It's past 10 PM—a pretty woman alone isn't safe. I'll take you home! It's on my way anyway."

Heart racing, he wiped his bike's rear seat.

"Hop on!"

Just then—

A Rolls-Royce Cullinan glided to a stop beside them.

The door opened.

Wang Haoran stepped out.
