Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

Rohmir stepped away from her.

"What do you mean... Rohmir, I didn't ask for this." Evie said exasperatedly. "I have all my things back at my place, please... I really can't accept this place." Though it was her dream apartment, she wanted to work for what she wanted—not just have it handed to her for doing nothing.

"Well, you don't have a choice. Tomorrow you can go back and get what you need from your apartment," Rohmir said matter-of-factly.

"Rohmir, the bookstore was more than enough... this is too much."

"Don't worry about it," he said in a tone that said he was already bored with this conversation. Then suddenly, his eyes lit up mischievously. "And plus, you're going to need the best rest of your life tonight if you want to make it to work well-rejuvenated tomorrow."

"And I couldn't do that at my own apartment?" Evie raised an eyebrow.

"Well, with the way I'm going to make you cum tonight, you're going to be thankful for that new mattress." He smirked.

Evie's stomach clenched. She decided to ignore that comment.

"What about all this fiancée business with the employees downstairs?" Evie asked. She still wasn't too happy about the apartment situation... but the prospect of Rohmir making her cum? Now that was too tempting to keep arguing about it.

Rohmir shrugged, the smirk never leaving his face. "Well, it was easier to explain that I was your fiancé as opposed to what we really are... and plus, I didn't want any other women approaching me. As long as they know I'm not available, they will back off. Also, I wouldn't want some idiot trying to seduce you while we live here."

His reasoning was nuts to her.

"Those are your reasons?" She shook her head in disbelief, to which he just shrugged.

"Let me show you to your room... I'm sure you want to have a nice shower after the long day you've had." He turned on his heel and headed down a corridor. She followed.

The room exuded elegance and modern sophistication. A plush bed, adorned with a tufted headboard and a medley of pillows, took center stage against a textured chevron-patterned accent wall. On either side, sleek nightstands stood adorned with contemporary lamps casting a warm glow. A chaise lounge nestled to the right of the bed, paired with a modest side table, offered an inviting corner of relaxation. Light poured in through floor-to-ceiling windows, their sheer curtains gently filtering the sunshine. By the window sill, a comfortable place to read. The room's wooden floors were softened by a light area rug underfoot, while built-in shelving and a dresser displayed curated decorative pieces, lending personality without clutter. The ceiling's modern track lighting added a final touch of refinement. It was a sanctuary—a perfect blend of comfort and chic design.

She swooned.

"I take it you like it?" Rohmir asked, observing her. She nodded vigorously.

"This is so nice, Rohmir," she said softly. "Thank you."

"Good." He was pleased with himself. "The bathroom is through that door." He pointed to a door on the side of the room. "Don't touch yourself thinking of me in there." He smirked and then left her to her own devices.

Evie sighed. This place was perfect... and it was hers? That was crazy to her. Everything was going too fast.

She stepped into the bathroom, and by just the look of it, she knew she would be spending a lot of time here.

The bathroom radiated serene luxury, merging modern aesthetics with natural elements. Marble walls and floors gleamed softly, reflecting the abundance of natural light that she knew would streaming through the tall windows adorned with wooden blinds. At the heart of the space, a freestanding bathtub (she had a bathtub finally!) sat on a soft mat, inviting relaxation. Above it, pendant lights dangled gracefully, casting a gentle glow. Nearby, a wooden stool with a small potted plant added a touch of warmth.

A double-sink vanity made of wood stood against the wall, complemented by round mirrors with built-in lighting. Below the sinks, open shelving housed neatly rolled towels, showcasing an organized yet cozy design. To the side, a wooden ladder served as a minimalist towel rack, blending functionality with charm.

On the far side of the room, a glass-enclosed shower with sleek black metal frames held a modern rain shower head, epitomizing contemporary elegance. The combination of natural materials like wood and stone, paired with stylish fixtures, created a bathroom that was both calming and sophisticated.

She stripped and opted to use the shower instead of the tub. The pressure of the water, the alluring body wash, the temperature—everything was perfect. She sighed in contentment as the steaming water roved all over her body. She was definitely grateful for this after today.

And she owed Rohmir too much already. In only a few days, he had turned her life around completely.

I can feel you thinking about me. His silky voice sounded in her mind.

Why would I be thinking about you? Evie smirked.

Because you want me. There was that bluntness. I want you too, little pet.

She huffed out. Glad that he didn't say anything after that. She took her time to shower, washing off all the tension of the day, then headed back to her room.

She hadn't thought about clothes, but as she looked into the wardrobes for a robe, she found it full... with beautiful clothes... all her size, and to her taste. How did this man even know what she would like?

She would have to thank him. She thought as heat pooled through her. Thank him properly.

She blushed as she found the drawer that was full of underwear and lingerie. He picked these out for her... She couldn't help thinking of the similarity—how she had made him from her fantasies... and now he got these sexy things for her to wear... for his fantasies. She shuddered and chose to wear a black silky lacy bra and panties, glad that she was waxed down and devoid of any hair from her nose down to her toes. She wore a thick, soft grey robe over that, put on some perfume, and headed back to the living room.

Rohmir sat on the sofa, his damp hair evidence that he had just come from the shower as well. He was sipping on a golden liquid, watching her as she entered the room.

"Rohmir, we need to talk." She sighed as she sat on the sofa next to him.

"What about?" He cocked his head to the side, eyes never leaving hers.

"About the whole of today... about this meeting I'm having tomorrow... about all this." She gestured all around her. "I need you to understand that I don't require you to do these things for me... though I am very grateful for it. I know I am in a tight spot in life right now, but it's not an excuse to look for charity. But I'm so very thankful. Please don't ever forget that. Please don't feel compelled to give me things just because I'm willing to work on setting you free from your bond."

"That's exactly why I need to give you things." He focused solely on her lips as he replied. "The least I can do is take care of your problems while you take care of mine."

He suddenly reached over and slid her to him with one swift move. "Want some whiskey?" he smiled, raising his glass to her lips. She took a taste, the smooth burning liquid something that she didn't even know she needed tonight.

"Mmmm, this is good," Evie murmured.

"I bet it tastes even better on your lips." Rohmir's voice was like silk laced with sin, his dark eyes locked onto her as he brought his mouth down to hers.

The kiss was slow, deliberate—designed to unravel her. His lips moved against hers with the kind of skill that left no room for hesitation. Whiskey and heat. Power and possession. He tasted like everything she shouldn't want, yet here she was, tilting her head back, letting him take whatever he pleased. His fingers slid into her damp hair, gripping just enough to make her shiver.

When he finally pulled away, leaving her breathless and aching, he smirked. "Do you still want to talk about today?" His voice was dark amusement and raw challenge, his thumb tracing her swollen lower lip.

Evie barely registered the words, too lost in the way he watched her—as if he was deciding whether to devour her whole. Her body pulsed with heat, her skin electric under his gaze. She licked her lips, knowing exactly what she wanted.

"No." Her voice came out sultry, more of a breath than a word. She pushed herself up from the couch, her every movement slow and intentional, knowing he was watching, waiting.

His gaze darkened as she sank to her knees in front of him, sliding her hands up his powerful thighs. Her fingers traced lazy circles over the fabric of his pants, teasing. Testing. She looked up at him through her lashes, her lips curling into a wicked smile.

"Right now," she murmured, her nails lightly scraping along his inner thigh, "I want to finish what I started at the bookstore."

His breath hitched.
