'That was my second fight, and it's only going to get worse from now on' Kakashi looked up at the sky; the sun shone so brightly, so he used his hand to shield his eyes. "And I don't know what they want from me," He said absent-mindedly.
"KAKASHI!!!, HIBIKI!!!"
They both turned around and saw the crowd cheering for them.
"YOU BOTH DID GREAT, THAT WAS AWESOME, WHY NOT COME LET'S TREAT YOU!!"
They were all saying stuff so randomly that Kakashi could barely understand them, but at least now the girls notice him. Kakashi turned to walk to them, but his body was too heavy to move. He turned to Hibiki and saw he was facing the same difficulty.
Kakashi breathing became heavy as he fell into the water.
# HIBIKI'S FLASHBACK
"I told you, I'm not ready to take care of a child!"
"What the hell are you saying!?. He's your son, our son, what kind of mother wouldn't want to take care of her own child?!"
"He's not even our son to begin with!?"
"And so?!, We promised to take care of him. So why the sudden change of heart!?"
"Can't you see?, Our lives has been harder since he came into our home!. Before then, we were happy, but now... I can't take it anymore. I'm leaving!"
"Where do you think you're going?!"
"Anywhere!, Anywhere away from you, you can keep the child if you want. I can't take it anymore"
A little boy sat silently on the stairway as he listened to his parents argument, it wasn't the first time it was happening, it was something that happens almost all the time. They never argued in front of him, instead they go into the kitchen, but, he could still hear them from his room.
Each time they argue, he comes out of his room, sat on the stairway and listen to them.
His mother storms out of the kitchen, barely paying any attention to him, soon he father came out and stopped by the door as he saw him. His father eyes widened with shock as he asked.
"Henry, how much did you hear?"
The boy didn't reply, he just sat on the stair with his face towards the floor. His father kneeled in front of him and patted his head.
"Don't think too much about it, your mom is just angry, okay?"
"Why?. Why did you lie to me?" Henry asked as he covered his face with his hands. "I thought you loved me, if she isn't my real mother, does that mean you're not my real father?"
His father was taken aback by his questions, in that moment, the woman who has pretended to be his mother carried her luggage and walked past them without saying a word.
.
.
.
"I promise. I'll be back in three days, or maybe sooner and when I do, you'll meet your mother" His father said and waved before walking away.
Henry sat at the front yard as he watched his father leave, but he didn't say anything. He didn't know what to say, but he was looking forward to seeing his real mother.
.
.
.
"His body was found frozen, and it was known that someone killed him, but no one knew who"
It's only been a day since his father left when he heard a knock on the door, Henry hurriedly answered and opened the door expecting to see his father and his real mother but he opened the door to see a lady in suit accompanied by a middle-aged man in the same attire.
"Is this the Jackson's residents?" The lady asked.
"Yes..." Henry answered. "But my dad's not home"
"We know, and we're here to inform you that he's dead"
"HUH!?" Henry eyes widened as he heard the news. "its a lie, he can't be dead, I saw him yesterday. He left, he said he was going to come back"
As Henry remembers watching his father smiling and waving at him, he wished he would waved back or at least say something, but now he was gone. His eyes were slowly filling up with tears as he wish he had spent more time with him instead of blaming him for everything, in the end, it was all his fault.
"His body was found frozen, and it was known that someone killed him, but no one knew who"
"H-how can you say you don't know who?!!!, Weren't you with him?!!!"
"Your father was running a secret experiment and he was alone" the lady said and cleared her throat. "Under the authority of the ASE, we're here to take you.
"I'm sorry but I can't go with you" Henry bowed his head.
.
.
.
"Mom!"
"Oh, my baby. How was school today?"
"It was great; we did sports exercises. I got second place in the girl's race."
Henry stood not far away as he watched the girl who was in his class talking to her mother, he felt empty inside. It been three years since he father died and since he had never knew any of his relative, he was forced to live alone.
"Henry, aren't your parents coming?" A boy in his class asked him as he walked to Henry.
Henry didn't answer, he just stood still watching the girl as they both walked away, holding each other's hand.
"Henry!!!" The boy yelled.
"Unh!, what?" He responded and turned to him. "You scared me, jace. Why are you yelling?, I'm right next to you"
"You were but your mind wasn't" Jace said with a smile.
"Your parents aren't coming?" Henry asked.
"You know are they are, it's always work, work, work. They barely have time for me" Jace replied as both of them walked home. "What about you?. It's been three years since I saw your dad and you never let me come over, what's up?"
"It's nothing... Actually, my dad has also been on missions so he's hardly at home"
Even though Henry father has been dead for three years he had never told anyone. The people from the ASE never came back since he haven't awakened his technique.
'And to be honest, I glad that I don't have a technique. If not, the Academy would have forced me to join'
"Let's talk about something else" Jace suggested.
"Like what?"
"Like what you were doing?. I saw you staring at May, don't tell me you like her" Jace said and poked Henry.
"What!!?, No!!" Henry said. Actually, he was just wishing if he would be able to experience something like that ever again. His father used to pick him up from school and his mother was always at home, now everything was a mess.
"But you were staring at her."
"So?"
"Why don't you tell her tomorrow?"
"What??"
"Come on, it's going to be fine. She is nice and cute. I would strongly recommend you go for it." Jace was trying to convince him to ask her out.
"I said I don't like her" I answered.
"But you..." Jace was about to say something.
"Jace!!!" That was his mom calling.
"Okay, Henry. Tell me if she agrees, okay," he said, running to his mother.
Henry look at the sky; it's going to be sunset soon. He better start heading home.
