Chapter 60 - God's Control

The gods gathered once more, the weight of their decision settling upon Olympus. The Status System had been approved, but now came the question of implementation.

Zeus leaned forward, his gaze sharp.

Zeus: "Hephaestus, you proposed this system. Now tell us—how will it work?"

All eyes turned to the god of the forge. Hephaestus, ever the craftsman, simply smirked and reached into the air. A ripple of divine energy spread from his palm as he summoned an artifact of his own creation.

It was a floating golden disk covered in intricate runes, its surface shifting like molten metal. Embedded at its center was a pulsating gem, a core of pure divine energy. The artifact radiated power, humming softly as if alive.

Hephaestus: "This is the Eye of Aion."

Gasps and murmurs filled the chamber. Even the older gods could feel the depth of its magic.

Hephaestus: "The Eye of Aion has one purpose—it observes. It detects the very essence of a being. Strength, speed, magical affinity, even the state of their soul. Everything about a person is recorded within its sight."

Athena studied the artifact with a critical gaze.

Athena: "An artifact that can perceive all aspects of a mortal… that is powerful indeed. But how do you plan to apply it across the world?"

Hephaestus grinned.

Hephaestus: "That is where the second artifact comes in."

He raised his hand once more, summoning another creation. This one was far larger—an ethereal silver web that stretched and shimmered in the air like woven starlight. Each thread glowed with an otherworldly radiance, pulsing in rhythm with the heavens.

Hephaestus: "This is the Heaven's Net. It is a divine construct that can connect with anything, binding information across all realms."

Poseidon leaned forward, intrigued.

Poseidon: "You mean to link all mortals through this?"

Hephaestus nodded.

Hephaestus: "Exactly. The Heaven's Net will act as the bridge. The Eye of Aion will detect the condition of a mortal, but in order for them to access this knowledge, they must connect to the Heaven's Net. That is where the temples and churches come into play."

Zeus stroked his beard thoughtfully.

Zeus: "Explain."

Hephaestus: "When a mortal prays at a church, their soul will momentarily connect to the Heaven's Net. This connection will allow them to receive information about themselves, drawn directly from the Eye of Aion."

The gods considered his words carefully.

Hestia, ever the gentle guide of mortals, spoke next.

Hestia: "So they must seek divine guidance to understand themselves."

Hephaestus: "Yes. It ensures that the temples become places of importance. If they want to understand their abilities, they must turn to us."

Apollo, standing beside Artemis, examined the shimmering web of the Heaven's Net.

Apollo: "This artifact… for it to function on a worldwide scale, it will need a power source beyond anything we have."

Artemis nodded.

Artemis: "You intend to use the stars, don't you?"

Hephaestus grinned.

Hephaestus: "Exactly. The stars are ever-present, untouchable by mortals. If we weave the Heaven's Net into the constellations, it will become an omnipresent force, reaching every corner of the world."

Zeus turned to Apollo and Artemis.

Zeus: "Then it is your task. You two shall weave the Heaven's Net into the stars, making it an eternal part of the sky."

Apollo smirked.

Apollo: "Finally, something worthy of our power."

Artemis remained silent but nodded in agreement.

Zeus looked over the gathering.

Zeus: "It is decided. The Heaven's Net shall be connected to the stars. The Eye of Aion will perceive all. And mortals shall pray to us for guidance, strengthening their faith."

Ares grinned wickedly.

Ares: "And if any defy us… we shall remind them of their place with divine curses."

Hades spoke last, his voice calm but final.

Hades: "Then it is settled. The Status System will shape the future of this world."

With their decision made, the gods set their plan into motion.

The stars above began to shimmer brighter than ever before as Apollo and Artemis ascended to weave the divine web. New churches of the gods were built, their altars humming with divine energy. And the mortals, unaware of the divine hands guiding their fate, would soon come to understand a new truth—

The Status System had become reality.
