Mirelah;
"Kelaith, you are not the people before you. You're Kealith Varkaine. My husband. You're the Divine king. Not a mad king. You carry a curse, I will help you break even if it's the last thing I do. I'm not an outsider. I'm on your side. It's me and you against all the odds. That's what marriage means. And you're a married man now. Your wife is swearing to you tonight that she will never let you fight alone again." I try to assure him, and he blinks in silence.
"Do you understand me, Kealith?"
He's staring at me like he's hearing my words, but doesn't quite understand them. I need him to. I need him to know that I know and mean everything I'm saying.
I don't know how he's been holding up before now, but it's clear to see that he's been going through a lot. I want to help him, however, I can. I only hope he lets me in… I can't help him if he doesn't.
"Kealith…" I whisper as I take my hand to his face, and I watch tears fill his eyes.
