Chapter 23 - CHAPTER 23

If you can use medical ninjutsu to participate in Orochimaru's research on forbidden techniques, then the thousands of people who dream of power can wake up laughing.

Looking at the sky, it was very late, and after returning home, Chao YanQian

took a hot bath to wash away the exhaustion of training. Lying on the bed, he began to recall the entire process of his encounter with Orochimaru.

The appearance of Orochimaru was indeed a surprise, but he did not express any interest in recruiting him, which also disappointed Chao YanQian

Furthermore, Orochimaru never revealed the purpose of meeting him, which puzzled Chao YanQian

even more.

Perhaps Orochimaru felt that Chao YanQian

wasn't valuable enough yet!

After ruling out several possibilities,Chao YanQian finally thought of this one. After all, he hadn't fully matured yet. If he were to die on the battlefield one day, Orochimaru recruiting him now would be pointless.

After thinking about Orochimaru, he carefully planned his future path toward Tsunade and eventually fell asleep.

Early the next morning, Chao YanQian

arrived at the meeting place on time and began his mission career.

Spring passed, and autumn arrived, as time flew by. Through daily missions and training, two years had passed in the blink of an eye. It had been ten years since Chao YanQian arrived in the Naruto world.

It was Konoha's 43rd year.

After two years of ninja service, life was both thrilling and mundane. Every day consisted of missions or training in the village, with no real entertainment.

But for Chao YanQian, training was his greatest pleasure, feeling his strength grow day by day. Defeating powerful enemies gave him the feeling of leveling up and defeating bosses, much like in his previous life.

It's worth noting that at the end of last year, Chao YanQian was promoted to Chūnin because of his outstanding mission performance and the recommendation of his teacher, Ueno. In the same year, his classmates from the Academy, Uchiha Obito, Nohara Rin, Yūhi Kurenai, Shizune, and Sarutobi Asuma, graduated and became Genin of the village.

When they graduated, they invited Chao YanQian to their celebration. After all, they were classmates, and now they were all ninjas. This was probably the last time they would gather together.

As for Kakashi Hatake, who often had difficulties with his teammates and was sometimes excluded from the group, he finally met his fated teammates, Uchiha Obito and Nohara Rin. Under Minato Namikaze's leadership, they began to carry out simple missions.

These newly graduated Genin couldn't be expected to undertake espionage missions like Chao YanQian did when he first became a ninja. Their tasks mostly remained within the village, often requested by Konoha's citizens.

Chao YanQian often wondered what kind of low-level missions Kakashi was assigned and what expression he wore.

Speaking of which, over the past two years, Chao YanQian and Kakashi had crossed paths a few times, but they didn't speak to each other—just nodded in passing.

YanQian, are you heading to the Konoha Hospital again?" asked Hoshinohara as she looked at him.

That morning, their team had just assembled and was about to accept a mission. But Ueno had received an order to report to the Hokage Building alone, so the three of them went their separate ways for individual training.

"Yeah! Want to come along?" Cha YanQian asked.

"Nah, you know I'm not really into medical ninjutsu," Hoshinohara said with a laugh.

"I'm heading back home as well!" Keita Hyuga said.

"Geez!" Hoshinohara sighed, "One of you is going home, and the other is heading to the hospital. It's been so long since our team trained together."

Thinking about the time, Chao YanQian

felt that something important was happening in the village, likely signaling the onset of war.

"It has been a while since we've gathered,"Chao YanQian said. "Let's grab some barbecue tonight!"

Then he turned to Hoshinohara and said, "If you're free, could you go to the Hokage Building and inform Ueno-sensei?"

"Sure! Let's meet at six, and no backing out!" Hoshinohara waved before leaving.

"See you tonight!" After bidding farewell to Keita, Chao YanQian headed toward Konoha Hospital.

"Chao YanQian, here to help again?"

"Aren't you on a mission today? How come you're here?"

As soon as Chao YanQian entered the hospital, people started greeting him.

Over the past two years, Chao YanQian had learned much about medical ninjuts .Even difficult techniques like the Mystical Palm Technique were now mastered. Because of this, the staff at Konoha Hospital treated him warmly.

He had encountered Tsunade several times in the past two years, but despite his best efforts, he couldn't establish a deeper connection with her. Still, she occasionally gave him pointers, but nothing beyond that.

"Ueno-sensei had something urgent come up, so our team disbanded for the day. Anything I can help with?" Chao YanQian asked.

"A few injured just arrived. Come help, will you?" a medical ninja said.

"Of course!"

By around five o'clock, Chao YanQian finished his duties at Konoha Hospital and headed to the barbecue restaurant.

When he arrived, Ueno, Hoshinohara, and Keita were already there, waiting for him.

The moment he stepped inside,Chao YanQian noticed Ueno's troubled expression. Something big was definitely happening.

"Ueno-sensei, is something going on?" Chao YanQian asked as soon as he sat down.

"Why do you ask?" Ueno replied, curiously.

"Your expression gives it away," Chao YanQian smiled slightly. "Shouldn't a ninja hide their emotions better? You've written yours all over your face. Something big must be happening."

"You're as sharp as ever. It seems the village might be going to war," Ueno sighed.

"What? War?" Hoshinohara gasped.

"Keep your voice down!" Ueno scolded.

"What's happening?" Keita asked, looking serious.

Ueno sighed again. "I suppose it's fine to let you know since it concerns you. Several months ago, the Third Kazekage of Sunagakure disappeared. They suspect that we, Konoha, are behind it and are demanding we hand over the culprit."
