After a few minutes of intense breathing, he finally got up, picked up the antler, and then plucked out the last antler from the mangled head of the dear. Then half walked, half stumbled his way back to the camp, vowing to himself to figure out a way to bring the jaguar and the deer back to camp. After putting the deer's antlers next to the rock, he went and sat on the rock.
"Ok, time to go take a look at my status window."
"Open status"
Name: Krova Astris
Lost: 1
Soul shape: 0/8
Soul brightness: Dim
Soul essence: 0/500
Skills: Water manipulation-locked, soul fire-locked, Gate to the infinite ignotus-locked, shadow walker-copied.
Even though I killed the jaguar, I got no soul essence. Maybe it is because I got a Lost; I have to check later by killing something else if I can.
Huh!
Shadow Walker, what an interesting name! I wonder how it works.
"Close system window"
"Open Shadow Walker skill description"
Skill description: Shadow Walker allows the user to use his shadow or any shadow the user creates as storage, but if the object was ones already in the user's shadow it can go back in the user's shadow storage. By using it own shadow. Storage increases when soul shape increases. Your shadow can hold about 2 Shadow Jaguars in width and two Shadow Jaguars in height. Also, you can go into your shadow and teleport to another shadow. This is a copied skill, so its duration lasts for as long as you have soul energy in yourself. Also, it uses soul energy to activate, but little of it. The amount of energy directly relates to the level of the user's soul brightness.
That's interesting, so for my normal skills from my legacy, when I unlock them, I don't need soul energy. Nothing I can do now; I will test that skill later, maybe to retrieve the jaguar and the deer.
"Close skill, description."
"Open the Lost"
Lost: Shadow Jaguar
Lost description: You can summon the creature you took the soul from, called Lost. To summon a Lost, you have to use soul energy but not to maintain. Also, if you recall, you're lost back; it will slowly heal from any injuries that are inflicted. You also can turn into that creature, but it takes soul energy to activate and maintain. For partial transformation, it only needs soul energy to activate and not to maintain.
So I can turn into a half-shadow jaguar; that's so cool.
Now that I have a way to store things and hide, I will go back to the jaguar.
Kastis says
"Close Lost description"
"Shadow Jaguar partial transformation"
His silver hair turned pitch black, he grew a black tail, and his ears disappeared, then turned into black cat ears that appeared on his head, and his eyes turned into cat-like slits also turned, as black as a starless night sky.
Cool, I feel as if I were a bit stronger; I should run a little to see if I got faster. After a little bit of getting used to the new form and with his speed greatly enhanced and his strength moderately enhanced, he was ready to go.
The previous 40 minutes of a cautious walk. 10 minutes to the end of the creek, and then 30 to the corpses turned into a 5 to 10-minute dash through the trees, but when he saw extremely big and terrifying beasts, he went into his shadow and he thought how lucky he was to not have encountered them previously with no way to escape. He went as far as he could in that incorporeal form, then went back on the treetops and ran as fast as he could.
After he made it, he commanded his shadow to take the Shadow Jaguar. Kastis's shadow, which was already touching the jaguar, completely engulfed the jaguar, and then the jaguar disappeared.
Then Kastis walked to the deer and did the same.
Now that he has possession of both the deer and the jaguar, he decides to hurry back to camp.
A few minutes past
Finally, I got back to the camp.
I should go make bottles and fill water in them, then go clean myself off.
Kastis went around the outskirts of the clearing to get thick branches.
After a Little bit, he finally found a good piece of thick branch
Finally, I'm so happy I found it, but it would be useless to me if I didn't do Boy Scouts when I was younger. I should start carving.
I can't believe I'm stuck in this wilderness and all alone. Maybe I should kill myself and see if that can reverse reincarnation.
No, no.
Stop! I can't die. If I kill myself and don't go back, then it's all for naught. I have to find a sure way out of this world.
Oh, I'm done carving, and the 10 bottles are well crafted if I do say so myself.
Kastis went up to the pond to fill it, and then he noticed he forgot to go back to his normal form.
Man, my partial transformation really looks like my old self. My eyes and hair are black again, but my face never changed.
When I was in my youth, probably mid-twenties all the girls would swarm me. They say I had a unique, otherworldly beauty or some garbage like that.
What was I doing again, OH RIGHT!
I have to fill the bottles up, but this is strange I used to never get sidetracked this much when I was on Earth.
Finally, I'm done filling the bottles up.
Kastis puts the bottles in a shadow he made by partially cupping his hand.
Finally, he takes his clothes off and jumps into the water. As soon as he reaches the water, a splash so huge it goes up 100 feet erupted, and spins around him like a tornado. After what felt like a second or an eternity, it disappeared; not a single water droplet from the splash ever reached the pond. A second later it appeared again and went into Kastis.
What was that?!?
Kastis was in a daze. To Kastis, when the water went into him, it felt as if the blood and internal organs were being ripped out by a tornado and then put back stronger.
A voice was heard in his head, and a floating text appeared.
[Your skill within you though locked interacted with the divine, the corrupted, the unknown water and was absorbed by you.]
[You have gained an unknown skill divine corrupted body.]
What!
I feel like I'm getting too strong too quickly; there must be a catch.
Kastis then called out "Status open", but nothing happened; he was confused.
Where is the status window? Maybe this has something to do with the new skill.
Since one's soul and body work as one, well, for the most part.
I should close my eyes and focus on my soul.
I, I can see my soul.
It was shapeless was the only way to describe it, and there were ruins but also hieroglyphs as if describing the skills on that shapeless soul.
When I looked closer, I could understand the ruins, but the more I looked, the more I wanted to go into the soul; unfortunately, it was like an invisible barrier, blocking me from entering.
Ok, for now, I'll ignore the urge to try to enter the soul and look at the skill: divine corrupted body.
Skill description: Unknown
Skill ability: Unknown, Unknown, Unknown, your body and soul are more intergraded to let you gain more soul essence from creatures with a higher soul shape and brightness, it also lets you dive into your soul and you don't have to say status opens you can just think of it and it will open.
How cool this will help…
AAAAAAAAAAA!
What is this, and why am I being sucked into the middle of the pond by a whirlpool!
Smack.
Kastis got hit by a stick and blacked out.
Damn it!
Where am I?
Kastis looked around, but it was pitch black.
Damn it where the HELL am I and how the F**k do I get out! Kastis yells.
As Kastis says that, a voice reverberated all around the pitch-black expanse.
"Well, hello there."
"You must be Krova Astris or Kastis."
"Welcome to the Illusory Island."
