Chapter 124 - The Fall of the Heavens (124)

The barrier that Gabriel had erected was still there. People outside could hear and feel the battle raging within—violent outbursts, shockwaves rattling the air.

Meanwhile, outside the barrier, figures could be seen crashing down.

Soul Society's elites had arrived.

It had only been about four hours since the war began. Yes, Gabriel had been boxing with Yamamoto for a long, long ass time.

The first thing one of the warriors did—with his brush-like Zanpakutō, and a headphone dent that would put the rest of humanity to shame—was close the Gates of Hell.

No new Hell Hollows could emerge.

The remaining members of the Zero Division immediately went to work, using their powers to annihilate every Hell Hollow in sight. In the span of about twenty seconds since their arrival, roughly 2,000 Hell Hollows had been slain.

And then—

Gabriel's barrier shattered.

The Monk gripped his sword, prepared to strike down whatever emerged from the debris. If it was the Hollow King, they would execute him on sight.

However—

It wasn't Gabriel who emerged.

It was—

Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni.

The once-mighty Flame God now looked like a husk of his former self. Nearly all of his body had been transfigured beyond recognition. His power had been reduced to the level of... Soi Fon.

Yes. The nerf was that massive.

His uniform was tattered.

His skin burned and broken.

His once unyielding stance now unsteady. His breathing ragged as he clutched his side.

His voice was hoarse, barely above a whisper.

"G-...Gabriel..."

Then—

His body twisted.

Contorted.

Like his very existence was rejecting itself.

His limbs distorted, his spiritual pressure collapsed, his essence unraveled.

Gabriel stepped forward, watching with dispassionate amusement.

Walking from behind the old man,Gabriel looked like a monster,4 arm, one of which was missing a hand.

His body seem to be charred, yet it was healing at speed visible to the naked eye.

Hm. This old man had been fun to fight. Granted, Gabriel had grown past him a while ago, but the old man had so many tricks, so many techniques.

Now, though?

Time to play with the Shinigami.

Gabriel's gaze locked onto the newcomers. There were about five of them.

Each of them felt stronger than a captain—by a long, long shot.

Individually, they surpassed every captain in Soul Society. The only one stronger than Yamamoto here was that monk with the ridiculous headset dent.

Yet as Gabriel studied them, he couldn't help but feel something... exciting.

Something about them set his blood boiling.

He wanted the fade.

His demonic aura leaked from his body like crazy. Sure, his armor was a bit beat up—after all, he'd been eating Yamamoto's strongest attacks for hours.

But this?

This was about to be fun.

"Is this the reason we were called down?" Hikifune muttered. She was a relatively new member. She could kill this Hollow—it was weakened.

Yet...

Oetsu, usually outgoing, said nothing. His eyes locked onto Gabriel.

This demonic feeling...

He remembered it.

Oetsu turned to Ichibē. The monk's expression was dark. As the oldest among them, he knew where he had felt this power before.

As Gabriel's power leaked into the battlefield, they all felt it.

The Ōken in their bones—

It was being suppressed.

It was being weakened.

A crack formed on Oetsu's arm.

Kirio staggered, her form flickering.

Tenjirō clenched his fist, feeling his divine resilience falter.

Ichibē's eyes narrowed.

This thing—

No.

This beast.

This monstrosity should have remained sealed in Hell.

What was it doing here?

No matter.

They had their orders.

Gabriel must be eradicated.

Ichibē raised his hand.

"Seal hi—"

BZZZT—BOOM!

The sky split open once more.

A black tear in the fabric of space itself.

And from that abyss—

Four figures descended.

The Four Horsemen of Hueco Mundo.

Ulquiorra Cifer, the Horseman of Death.

He vanished from his battle with Aizen and Gin, appearing at Gabriel's side without hesitation. Gin had already been defeated. Aizen had been 'dead'. Gabriel was more important.

Coyote Starrk, the Horseman of War.

He cracked his neck, his eyes calm yet alert.

Tier Harribel, the Horseman of Famine.

Her gaze was cold, unreadable, her presence commanding.

Val'Zirrah Aeterna, the Horseman of Conquest.

A cruel smile played on her lips as she adjusted her stance.

Gabriel's grin widened.

Now this was interesting.

The battlefield had shifted.

It was no longer just a slaughter.

Now—

It was a war between titans.

His eyes locked onto Ichibē.

A slow, arrogant nod.

"Come on, Monk. Show me how your gods fight."

Gabriel demonic aura flared once more, all four of his eyes seem to glow with malice.
