Chapter 77 - Chapter 76

Luna Everleigh's POV

***

Darkness swallowed me whole.

It wasn't the absence of light—it was something deeper, something alive. It clawed at my skin, whispering, pulling, devouring.

I could feel The Devourer's hunger pressing against my soul, an endless void stretching in every direction. It wanted everything. My power. My essence. My existence.

But I wouldn't let it win.

I called upon the Lunar Guardian's light, feeling it pulse inside me like a second heartbeat. The glow spread from my fingertips, golden and silver threads weaving through the abyss. It was small, fragile—nothing compared to the vast darkness—but it was there.

And I would make it enough.

I pushed forward, pouring every ounce of my strength into the light, forcing it outward. The darkness recoiled, but it fought back, slamming against me like a tidal wave.

Pain lanced through me. My limbs burned. My breath faltered.

This was it.

There would be no coming back from this.

The realization settled in my chest like lead, but there was no fear. Only acceptance. If my sacrifice meant saving them—saving him—then it was worth it.

A memory surfaced in my mind. Rhydian's golden eyes, burning with emotion. His voice, hoarse with desperation.

"What kind of life would it be without you?"

A tear slipped down my cheek. He would be safe now. That was all that mattered.

I closed my eyes and let go—

A roar shattered the silence.

Then suddenly, warmth.

Arms around me. A familiar scent.

And then—

Rhydian.
