Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Requesting Great-Swords!

Timeline: 2 days since the last chapter!

Change of POV: Velzard

I walked around the E-Rantel today, checking Weapon Shops.

I walked in front of a building with board on it saying:

[Sword and Shield]

It's supposedly best best Blacksmith in the entire E-Rantel city, and that's saying something when there are dozens of others Blacksmiths.

And quite contrary compared to other buildings or shops of other Blacksmiths, this one looks plain.

Entire building is made out of bricks and stones, every blacksmith shop is made out of them too. But others are always trying to attract Noble's attention in some way, from making their shop look more extravagant than it should be.

For example that one [Blacksmith of Heaven] literally colored outsides of the building in gold and diamond. And his weapons tend to be more pleasing to the eyes than durable for actual fight.

For that Blacksmith, his usual clients are spoiled nobles.

And there is one Blacksmith from noble lineage who's shop is colored in purple to represent royal status despite him not being a royal but noble.

And yet, here we got a good old fashioned Blacksmith who was supposedly Gold-Class Adventurer in his youthful days.

As I mentioned above, his shop looks plain enough to pass for nothing else but 'Blacksmith shop'. There is nothing memorable about it except a huge sign saying [Sword and Shield].

Even though I still can't read their language, I made some progress in trying to learn what some words mean. Like Shield, Sword, Spear and other similar weapons.

It's good start up for now.

I pushed the wooden doors leading into [Sword and Shield].

And from one step inside it, heat rushed at me. I felt a bit uncomfortable.

It's obviously due to me being The Frost Dragon so fire and heat are my natural enemies. It does not have effect on me but it's annoying feeling. It's as if something crawled up on my skin.

I shrugged off the feeling before I stepped into the shop this time fully before closing the door behind me, with my coat fluttering from the wind once more.

I'm wearing [Capitano's Armor] with complete set, including coat this time.

Shop looked not too different from other Blacksmiths at least in the first room.

All around the room, numerous items are placed on walls and shelves to not only decorate the room but beneath these items are prices for each one of them.

Every item placed in this blacksmith's shop is weapon. There is no magic enchantment, but there is another store in E-Rantel that sells best used-weapons and Magic Items. I'll check it out later today, that store is useful and supposedly cheapest stuff there are hundreds of gold worthy, truly worthy only for top-tier Adventurer's.

I'll have to buy some of the stuff there since I don't have [Create Greater Item] yet, but once I do, I will sincerely enjoy experimenting with it.

Ok, let's get back to the track.

As I said, the room is full of different Items, from Short-Swords, Bows, Arrows, Spears, Swords, and pieces of Armors.

I like it, I might buy everything here once.

Wait!

Is this Dragon's greed emanating from me?! If I remember right, every Dragon in New World had liking for treasures or anything shinny they found interesting, and some of them have greater greed for it.

I mentally shivered, but I got broken out of my thoughts by young girl's voice.

"Welcome customer! How may we help you?!" Spoke energetic voice, I turned around to meet owner of said voice.

Owner of said voice appears to be young woman of 16 years old or a bit older. The young woman in question is currently sitting at chair near the desk. Obviously, she is cashier in this Blacksmith's shop.

I inspected her appearance for a second.

She appears to have long blonde hair braided into twin tails at the back, somewhat similar to my hair when I got transmigrated into Overlord.

She appears to be around 150cm tall, it's a bit shorter than average women's height in this age, wearing black pants with wooden sandals, and her top is black shirt with short sleeves. And on her hip is small short sword, no doubt to act as her defensive weapon in case some troublemaker appears.

And her voice appears to be a bit above average in beauty with big blue eyes and beneath her lips is beauty mark.

" I need a pair of Great-Swords made out of steel for me with this design." I spoke as I walked up to her before pulling out a small paper from one of my pockets, and showing it to her on the desk.

And subsequently her eyes flashed with shine once she noticed 'Orichalcum' plate hanging around my plate.

The Great-Swords I want to be created would be just over-sized steel swords. 140cm long, it's appearance is similar to katana but oversized, the Great-Sword would be just one of the numerous Swords I would request to be created, just one of them. And because it's steel Sword, it will be cheap for me now, can't be more than several gold coins for one Great-Sword each.

If you maybe want a better description of it, you could Imagine Ichigo's sealed zanpakuto when he took Rukia's powers.

And those Great-Swords will come with sheaths for them, the Great-Swords will be strapped on my back after they were created.

The girl after noticing my Adventurer's plate looked at my 'blueprint' if it even can be called that.

"Sir Adventurer please wait, i'll call Grandpa." She requested of me before turning around and walking away into opened doors just behind her desk.

From those doors I obviously can feel the heat off, in another words, that's where he creates weapon and shapes them.

Several more moments later, and clanking from inside the room stopped before two sets of footsteps walked closer and closer to me.

And soon, both the girl and Blacksmith exited from the room.

Blacksmith is..

Just like I imagined, old man in his early 50s, almost 2 meters tall, very burly build, huge shoulders and strong back.

He looks like someone who could crack your head with bare hands.

His hands are huge, like shovels.

No wonder he was someone not even Adventurer's don't want to trifle with.

He has shaved beard with small gray mustache and very short but grey hair.

With sharp black eyes.

And he is only wearing clothes, thus leaving his upper body bare and showcasing his muscles to the world.

He is flexing now!

"I heard from my granddaughter that you want me to make your two Great Swords?" His voice is rough and deep on the edges as his eyes narrowed as he inspected me.

I gave him my paper with drawing of what they need to look like.

"Each one of them needs to be 140cm long which includes their handle, I would like if you can to make both of them to be two-hand, In another words just normal Great-Sword principle with this design." I requested of him as he took a look at drawing.

"What about it's width? "

"Make them 20 centimeters wide, but beside that I want you to make it as much denser as possible. And handle, make it as comfortable as you can." Well, I don't really plan to use these Great-Swords that much, only against huge Animals or Monsters to try them out, so how much comfortable they can be doesn't truly matter, yet.

He nodded before he tucked the paper into one of his pockets.

"It will take me about 5 days to make it. But first, what is your name and name of your team so my Granddaughter can register you as a customer?" He asked me before crossing arms over his chest,

I nodded, just then his Granddaughter pulled out one book from nowhere with a pen before looking at me with.. What is that look!

"I'm Capitano from Frost Knights." I said before turning around, but just before I was about to take one step, Blacksmith placed his hand over my right shoulder, I turned my head slowly at him.

What does he want.

But then I noticed where his gaze was aimed at.

At my [Ice-Sword].

His eyes flashing with unknown interest and shine of a child seeing their first toy.

"I should first introduce myself, I'm Borist Baro." He stopped holding my shoulder, before glancing at my [Ice-Sword] once more. " I know this may sound inappropriate but may I see your sword?"

Well, why don't I entertain him for a second. I don't believe he would be capable of creating a weapon as good as my [Ice-Sword] with current materials and Magic he has his hands on.

My [Ice-Sword] is a Relic-Class equipment, and only equipment which are better than it may only be found in Six Great God's treasury in Slane Theocracy and Eight Greed Kings's guild base. Both of these locations are impossible for me right now to steal from. One is guarded by half-elf god kin and other from strongest being in New World, The Platinum Dragon Lord.

And that Black Sword whose name I forgot that belongs to leader of Blue Rose can't be more than Legendary-Class Item, I would bet it's Relic-Class or Legacy-Class.

I unsheathed my [Ice-Sword], it's edge blistering in the room with incredible coldness and it's dark-ice like blade shone.

I placed it on awaiting hands of blacksmith.

But then, something unexpected happened which I did not anticipate at all.

The [Ice-Sword], the moment I placed it on Boris' hands, it lashed out.

It literally lashed out with creating dark-like Ice energy, similar to what Capitano's cryo element manipulation looked like. It coated itself in said element before small tendrils of the same dark-ice emerged from random parts of the sword.

But, that's not the end. Boris' hands that were touching my [Ice-Sword] fell along with the Sword to ground, the weight of the sword almost crushed his hands if it didn't stop plunging till half of it's blade was plunged on the floor.

Both young girl and Boris were flabbergasted, meanwhile I received notification from the [System]

[Ice-Sword: Cannot be equipped by anyone else! It's only usable item by those possessing [Velzard] bloodline! But those requirements could be changed with usage of [World Class Items]! [Ice-Sword] posses ego of it's own and in circumstances of it being away from the wielder will stab itself on ground and will not be be possible to pull it outside of it! Only those of [Velzard] bloodline would be able to use this sword!]

Oh, there was not such mention of it..

Oh yes, dumb me.

I already forgot what [Ice-Sword]'s description was in the Inventory, I'll re-read it later, but now I have to apologize to flabbergasted Boris who is trying to pull out my [Ice-Sword] from his floor.

This reminds me of Excalibur.

Or is it Caliburn?

Should I re-name it?

No, I won't. I'll create my own Caliburn once I get access to [Create Greater Item].

"What the heck is wrong with this Sword!" Grunted Boris as he continued trying to pull it out by holding it by it's handle, this looks comical, a muscular 2 meter tall man trying to pull out one handed sword stabbed on floor. "Why can't I pull it out!"

Even his Granddaughter is stupefied with this.

I chuckled, causing Boris to stop his futile efforts and look at me with furrowed brows before standing up.

"I apologize, it has passed so long since I allowed someone else to touch my Sword." I began before crouching slightly to grip the handle of the sword. " [Ice-Sword] allows only those worthy to wield it." I pulled it out effortlessly, no wonder it's so light in my hands. Like a feather, almost no weight. So it's impossible for other people than myself to wield it.

Neat.

His granddaughter looked at sword in awe.

"What are requirements for wielding it?" She asked quite enthusiastically as she closed the gap between us but not before putting her book at the desk.

She eagerly inspected [Ice-Sword] as I twirled it around.

"You need to have my bloodline coursing through your veins and for [Ice-Sword] to deem you worthy."

She picked up her book once again before writing something on it.

"Then is that sword your family heirloom ?" Boris asked as he crossed his arms once again with one raised eyebrow.

I don't really enjoy lying, but I don't really have much options left.

"Indeed, it has been passed down through generations. But if you want to inspect it more-." I interrupted myself before showing my Sword to him by placing it horizontally on my palms.

He leaned slightly before tapping it once with his fingers. Maybe it's his way to inspect it's materials?

He stared on it before he glanced at me for confirmation at which I nodded at.

He then grabbed the sword once again but due to it still being in my hands it did not reject him, instead it allowed him to inspect it more.

"Hmm, this Sword is magic Item it is not? And I can't discern from what materials it's made out of from, it's truly fantastic! " He exclaimed while still looking at my sword, but he was not the only one.

His Granddaughter brought out one of the nearby Steel Swords before nudging her grandfather to take notice of her.

"Here Grandpa! You could test Sir Capitano's Sword by trying to parry his swings!"

"Thank you Leia, would you indulge me this once more, Sir Capitano?" He took the sword she handed him before falling back three steps to give us more space.

"I don't see a problem with this. But you may call me just Capitano."

"If so, then please call me Boris."

"I will, ready yourself Boris." I swung once with my [Ice-Spear at his outstretched steel Sword. I swung lightly so they would be able to see my movement with the Sword.

And as expected, steel Sword was cut in half without any difficulty, as if knife cutting through butter.
