Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Blackbeard’s Offer

"So this is the power of a Devil Fruit?" Ainz observed with interest as the dark aura continuously emanated from Blackbeard's body.

After all, this was his first time witnessing a Devil Fruit ability in action.

Ainz had no intention of making a move himself.

After all, Narberal was his battle maid, possessing the combat prowess of an Eighth-Tier magic caster.

This was a perfect opportunity to compare the difference between Devil Fruit abilities and magic.

"You're really starting to annoy me, you swirling bug."

Narberal spoke viciously as she watched her magic get swallowed by Blackbeard's unknown ability.

In her mind, a mere insect should simply be crushed and disposed with Dragon Lightning.

Small streaks of lightning flickered around Narberal's staff before rapidly expanding into multiple electric nets, covering the entire bar in an instant.

As the lightning spread, everything it touched was reduced to charred remains.

"Black Vortex!"

Faced with the devastating attack, Blackbeard immediately activated his ability, shrouding himself and his crew in a black hole of darkness.

When the electric storm subsided, the bar had been completely obliterated—except for the corner where Ainz stood, untouched.

"Tch, cockroaches really do have strong survival instincts." Narberal scoffed as she eyed the sphere of darkness before her.

The fact that her attack hadn't wiped out Blackbeard and his crew only fueled her disdain.

"Devil Fruits… what an interesting power indeed." Ainz mused.

Seeing Blackbeard withstand a 5th-tier spell piqued his curiosity. "It seems Devil Fruits should be classified as a valuable resource."

"Zehahahaha! That was close! I almost died there!"

Blackbeard retracted the dark mist surrounding him, laughing boisterously as if he hadn't just barely escaped death.

"Missy, I'm growing more and more fond of you. Why don't you join my crew?"

To Blackbeard, Narberal's strength was on par with the top commanders of the Whitebeard Pirates.

Recruiting her would be a huge boost to his forces.

And if he could obtain the Rumble-Rumble Fruit ability, it might even surpass the Tremor-Tremor Fruit in power.

"You're just as disgusting as a slug." Narberal's gaze held nothing but raw contempt—though mixed with a hint of wariness.

She acknowledged that Blackbeard was a formidable opponent, able to endure her 5th-tier magic.

Still, compared to the Floor Guardians, he was nothing. And more importantly, Ainz-sama was right beside her.

"Missy, I'm going to conquer the world! Whitebeard's era is ending, and I'm about to become the Pirate King!

You shouldn't waste your talents being some bounty hunter's lackey!" Blackbeard remained unfazed by her rejection, persistently extending his offer.

He firmly believed that someone as strong as Narberal wouldn't follow a weakling.

And since Ainz gave off no aura of strength—no swordsman's spirit despite carrying a sword—Blackbeard didn't take him seriously.

This was because Ainz had activated aura suppression and, being undead, naturally emitted no life force, so Blackbeard couldn't perceive his strength.

"You dare challenge us?" Narberal's body began to show subtle signs of demonic transformation—her true race being Doppelganger, a lower-tier demon species.

"If that's the case, you will pay for your insolence… with your lives!"

The sheer intensity of her magic caused the surrounding air to vibrate.

"So, it's a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit?" Blackbeard's enthusiasm dimmed.

If she possessed the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, he would have been highly interested—it would have compensated for the inability of his Dark-Dark Fruit to grant intangibility.

But upon realizing it was a Mythical Zoan, he lost interest. Though rarer than Logia, they were of no use to him.

"Bang! Bang!"

Van Augur swiftly fired several shots at Narberal. Unlike before, these bullets were coated with Armament Haki.

"Looks like you bugs can put some scratches in my defense… But in the end, insects are still insects. Crushing them is enough!"

Narberal responded by unleashing multiple lightning bolts at Augur.

Augur lacked Blackbeard's durability and had to rely on agile movements to evade.

"Thunder Dragon!" Narberal obliterated a massive chunk of debris that Burgess had hurled at her.

"You ants have truly angered me!" Narberal held her staff close to her chest.

"Divine Punishment!"

"Damn it, Augur, Burgess! Who told you to attack?!" Blackbeard cursed.

The moment his crew engaged, he knew they were in deep trouble. They weren't ready for an opponent of Narberal's caliber.

A pillar of lightning struck down on Blackbeard's crew, sending them flying.

Coughing as he got up, Blackbeard barked, "Stand down! You're not ready to face this woman yet!"

He glared at Narberal.

"You've really pissed me off! I bet those folks from Pleasure District would love to have you!" As he spoke, darkness surged around him, spreading across the land.

"Black Hole!"

The affected area was consumed by an overwhelming gravitational force. Everything—rocks, trees—was sucked into the abyss of darkness.

Even Narberal was not spared.

"Zehahahaha! This is my power!" Blackbeard laughed wildly.

Though he had only restrained her temporarily, he couldn't help but revel in his ability's overwhelming might.

"Would you mind releasing my subordinate? The Great Tomb of Nazarick is not to be trifled with." Ainz, who had been spectating all this time, finally decided to step in.
