Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Desperate Alliance

"Damn it! Where did those monsters come from? What happened to the chief and the others? No! I have to find them!"

Wyper roared as he punched the massive tree in front of him, shattering it in one blow.

By now, two days had passed since Demiurge had dispatched the undead to Skypiea.

After knowing that Enel had gone missing, Wyper couldn't wait any longer.

He gathered the last remaining elite warriors of Shandia, preparing to attack Upper Yard, ring the Golden Bell, and fulfill Shandia's four-hundred-year-old wish.

But just as he was about to set out, a man clad in armor, calling himself Arthas, appeared with a legion of skeletal monsters.

With overwhelming power, they crushed the Shandia warriors Wyper had assembled.

Kamakiri was killed on the spot, and Wyper barely managed to break through the encirclement with a handful of fighters. The women and children of the tribe had all fallen into Arthas' hands.

"Wyper, calm down! Now is not the time to be reckless!" Raki blocked his path.

"Calm down? How can I calm down?! Everyone except us has been captured by that monster!"

Wyper shoved Raki aside, grabbing his bazooka and preparing to head back to their ruined village.

"You think I don't care? Aisa... Aisa is in that monster's hands too!" Raki shouted, her voice trembling with emotion.

She was just as worried about their people, but she knew they couldn't act recklessly. The only ones left to save their tribe were those who had escaped.

"Look around you, Wyper! Braham and the others are gravely injured.

How can they possibly fight? Kamakiri was killed by that monster! I don't want you to die, too! If you die, who else can save Aisa and the rest?!"

"Damn it... Damn it all!" Wyper clenched his fists, glancing at his comrades. She was right.

The survivors from three days ago were all severely wounded—only he and Raki could still fight.

The rest could barely move. "Is there really no other way?"

"Who's there?!" Wyper, keeping watch at night, immediately aimed his weapon at a rustling bush.

"Easy there, Wyper. No need to get so worked up."

"Gan Fall? What are you doing here? What kind of scheme are you plotting?"

Wyper tensed up at the sight of the former God of Skypiea. With his tribe in ruins, the sudden appearance of this man made him wary.

"I'm here to ask for your help."

"Hah! That's rich. Since when do the Sky People seek aid from Shandia?!"

"Please! Three days ago, a horde of monsters attacked Angel Island. I did my best to fight them off, but we were overwhelmed. Angel Island has fallen.

Even Pierre... Even Pierre was killed by those monsters! For the sake of the island's people, I beg you! Help us!" Gan Fall dropped to his knees, pleading.

"You said monsters attacked Angel Island?" Wyper's grip on his weapon loosened slightly at the revelation.

"Yes. We stood no chance against them!" Gan Fall raised his head, finally noticing the state of the Shandia warriors.

Apart from Wyper and Raki, everyone else was heavily bandaged, looking as if they had barely survived a brutal battle. "What happened to you all?"

"Shandia was attacked too. These are the only warriors who escaped! And only Raki and I can still fight!"

Wyper had initially wanted to lash out at Gan Fall, but hearing that Angel Island had also suffered an attack made him reconsider.

He had assumed the monsters were Enel's doing, but if Angel Island was targeted too, then all of Skypiea was in grave danger!

"Even Shandia... was attacked by those creatures?" Despair flickered in Gan Fall's eyes.

"No. There has to be a way to defeat them!" He muttered to himself. Losing Angel Island to these creatures was a devastating blow.

"Shura! The Divine Soldiers are nearly wiped out! McKinley's militia has been completely slaughtered on Angel Island! Even the Hotori and Kotori are dead!

And to make things worse, we're almost out of dials. If this continues, we won't last much longer!" Ohm slumped against a wall, his left arm completely missing.

"If only God was here! If it were him, those creatures would be wiped out in an instant..." Shura muttered, clutching his bleeding abdomen, his face pale.

He looked at the remaining Divine Soldiers. Aside from the three remaining Priests, the rest were trembling with fear—fear of the undead monsters that had invaded their home.

"Shura!" Gan Fall burst into the room with Wyper and Raki, having found their hideout through a secret passage.

"Gan Fall, you old bastard! Why did you bring those Shandia rats here?! So even you, the former God, have stooped to groveling with them!"

Shura gritted his teeth, tightening his grip on his weapon. If Gan Fall and Wyper turned against them now, they wouldn't stand a chance in their current state.

"I'm not here to fight you, Shura." Gan Fall quickly assessed the situation—Upper Yard had been attacked too.

"Where is Enel? Why hasn't he shown up?! Angel Island is under siege, and he still refuses to act? He's supposed to be God!"

Gan Fall knew that Enel was no ally, but given the circumstances, his immense power could have turned the tide.

But seeing the reaction of Shura and the others, he understood—Pagaya had been right. Enel had disappeared days ago.

"Those creatures invaded Upper Yard too, didn't they? Otherwise, you wouldn't be in this condition."

Seeing that Enel was nowhere to be found, Gan Fall abandoned the idea of seeking his help. "These monsters are beyond any one group's ability to handle.

They've attacked Angel Island, and they've attacked Shandia. We have no choice—we must join forces."

"Whoa! That gate is huge!" Luffy exclaimed, staring up at the massive Gate of Heaven.

"Huh? There's a toll station here?" Nami noticed a sign indicating a fee for passage. "But... why is there no one here?"

While Nami was still pondering the situation, Luffy had already steered the Going Merry straight through the gate.
