Chapter 13 - Chapter 12. With Moral Decay, Liyue Qixing Is Addicted to Coal Mining?!

How to describe the sheer amount of coal Ganyu had just discovered...

On the floor, on the walls, and even on the ceiling — coal veins stretched out across nearly thirty meters.

If they mined it all, they could easily fill at least a stack and a half.

This haul was already impressive.

But what excited Kanzaki Yuzuki more than the coal itself was the experience points he'd gain from mining it.

Those precious green orbs were crucial for future enchantments — whether for weapons, armor, or his ultimate goal: reforging his sword techniques.

Better start stockpiling now.

"Finally! We found it!" Keqing's relieved voice echoed through the cave. The tension she'd been holding in melted away.

Looking at the sheer number of coal veins, Keqing's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Even though it's not a huge amount, the quality looks excellent," she muttered to herself. "The coal demand at Liyue Harbor is high, and areas like Dragonspine always need large reserves to combat the extreme cold..."

Keqing paused, tapping her chin thoughtfully.

"If we stabilize a mining operation here... we could secure a long-term trade advantage. Heck, we might even corner the market and gain leverage over the Fatui!"

Hearing this, Kanzaki just chuckled and said nothing.

Few coal veins?

Sure, it seemed like it... but this was Minecraft.

A single coal block, weighing roughly 1.5 tons, required nine pieces of coal to craft. By rough calculation, that meant every individual coal chunk was around 167 kilograms.

Now consider the sheer number of coal blocks in this one area...

If they mined everything here — and considering potential hidden veins beneath the surface — they'd easily haul out over ten tons of coal.

That's enough to heat the entire Liyue Harbor for a season.

Still, Kanzaki decided to let Keqing figure it out on her own. Nothing teaches you about the absurdity of Minecraft better than firsthand experience.

He placed three torches down to brighten the surroundings.

"Watch closely," Kanzaki called. "There's a method to mining here. Always stand on solid stone while digging. If you mine recklessly, you might break into a cavern or hit a lava pocket. Even at this depth, we can't rule out accidents."

Keqing and Ganyu both nodded firmly, observing Kanzaki's movements like students watching their teacher.

With a wooden pickaxe in hand, Kanzaki started digging into the coal vein.

To Keqing and Ganyu, it looked almost effortless — just a few clean swings, and the coal chunk burst apart, leaving behind pure, high-quality coal.

Neither of them noticed the faint green particles drifting toward Kanzaki's body — experience points quietly accumulating.

"Whoa... that's fast!" Ganyu murmured in awe.

Kanzaki kept going, carving through the coal with precise, calculated strikes. Before long, his wooden pickaxe broke.

He paused, examining the half-mined coal deposit.

Sure enough, there was more coal buried beneath the first layer — typical MC logic at work.

But Kanzaki decided to leave the deeper layers for later.

"Alright," Kanzaki said, turning back to the girls. "Did you get it?"

Keqing and Ganyu nodded quickly.

"Good. Give it a try yourselves. I'll keep watch while I make some torches and prepare stone tools for you."

Keqing hesitated for a moment before stepping forward, clutching her pickaxe tightly.

"Is... is it really that easy?" she muttered. "Just a few swings, and coal pops out like that?"

"It's ridiculous," she added, eyes still wide with disbelief. "Kanzaki... your world is incredible! Liyue's economy could thrive on this alone!"

Her excitement flared again as she grabbed Kanzaki's arm.

"Seriously, thank you! You didn't have to share this with us, and yet... you still did!"

Kanzaki grinned and ruffled Keqing's hair.

"Relax. We're friends, aren't we?"

Keqing smiled sheepishly and stepped away, eager to start mining.

As Keqing and Ganyu began digging, Kanzaki multitasked — crafting torches, keeping an eye on the surroundings, and ensuring neither of the girls wandered too far.

Their progress was slower than his own — Keqing's strikes weren't as powerful, and Ganyu's rhythm was cautious.

But they managed well enough.

To Kanzaki's surprise, as Keqing and Ganyu mined, half the experience orbs drifted toward their Vision emblems.

Is this... leveling up their Vision power? Kanzaki wondered.

Neither girl seemed to notice, so Kanzaki decided to let it go for now.

With ample coal secured, Kanzaki turned to focus on equipment.

He crafted three sets of torches — one for each of them.

Two stacks for today's mining... one set for emergencies.

Safety first. Always.

Next, Kanzaki scavenged some stone from the walls and assembled a workbench and a furnace.

Three furnaces, actually.

Because no self-respecting miner survives without a furnace assembly line.

He followed up by crafting nine stone pickaxes and three stone swords — enough gear to ensure they'd be ready for whatever the mines threw at them.

Just as Kanzaki was about to distribute the tools, Ganyu's sudden shriek echoed through the cave.

"Kanzaki!"

In an instant, Kanzaki grabbed his stone sword and sprinted to her side, yanking Ganyu behind him.

"What happened?"

Eyes sharp, Kanzaki scanned the tunnel, half expecting a mob to lunge from the shadows.

"I-I'm fine," Ganyu stammered, her face pale.

Keqing hurried over, equally alarmed.

"Ganyu! Don't scare us like that!"

"S-Sorry," Ganyu said softly, face flushed.

"Then what happened?" Kanzaki asked, still holding his sword tight.

Ganyu hesitated, then awkwardly held up a chunk of coal.

"I-it's just... this coal... it's really heavy!"

Kanzaki blinked. Then he laughed — loud and unapologetic.

"Welcome to Minecraft logic!"
