Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 - Challenge

After receiving the elixir, Mo Wushuang bowed to Xie Ren three more times, her movements slow and respectful, before she turned and made her way back to a building.

The elixir, an earth-grade remedy for her injuries, was a gift that Xie Ren had purchased using his luck points.

As she walked away, a deep sense of regret washed over him. He had spent a lot of luck points on this single high-grade elixir, hoping it would heal her fully.

He really hoped the system wouldn't let him down.

[Ding, congratulations to the host for successfully accepting Mo Wushuang as a disciple. You have received the SSS-Grade Disciple Gift Pack.]

[Luck Points: +5000]

[Received: Heaven-grade high-tier martial technique Float Like a Butterfly 1x]

[Received: Divine-grade technique Emotionless Dao Manual 1x]

[The system has automatically perfected the techniques Void Crushing Divine Finger and Float Like a Butterfly for you.]

[Please pass the Emotionless Dao Manual to your disciple Mo Wushuang as soon as possible.]

Xie Ren stared at the system's prompt with a slight smile.

"Those are some unique techniques," he muttered, already imagining how they could enhance his abilities and those of his disciples.

His excitement grew, the possibilities of the system's other features unfolding before him like a treasure chest waiting to be opened. He was more eager than ever to explore all the features the system had to offer.

But as much as he wanted to delve deeper, he knew he couldn't stay cooped up in Empyrean Cloud City forever. The chances of finding more talented disciples here were slim. He had to venture outside to find those who could truly help expand his sect.

Just then, Chen Yinyin's voice broke through his thoughts, her irritation clear.

"Master, those Mystic Frost Sect people are so annoying! They've been blocking our sect's gate every day!"

Xie Ren's brow furrowed at the mention of the Mystic Frost Sect. After successfully taking Mo Wushuang as a disciple, he wasn't about to let anyone interfere with his plans, especially not the Mystic Frost Sect.

"Yinyin, don't you enjoy fighting?" he said with a grin. "Since they're blocking our gate, why don't you fight them off?"

Chen Yinyin's expression turned serious, though her frustration lingered. "Master, they have two cultivators in the Mid-stage of Golden Core. As a small Foundation Establishment cultivator, I'd be at a disadvantage facing them!"

Xie Ren raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "It's just two in the Mid-stage of Golden Core. Your Senior Sister just broke through to the Late-stage of Golden Core today. You can ask her for help."

Chen Yinyin's eyes sparkled with excitement. "I forgot about Senior Sister!"

She turned quickly, ready to take action.

Without wasting any time, she knocked eagerly on Lan Yue's door.

"Senior Sister, Master wants you to take me to fight!" she said with enthusiasm.

Lan Yue, who had been quietly meditating, looked up at Chen Yinyin with a raised eyebrow.

"You make it sound so easy," she said. "Why do you always make going to fight sound so smooth?"

Chen Yinyin's eyes twinkled mischievously. "Come on, Senior Sister! It's our sect's honor on the line!"

Lan Yue hesitated, looking uncomfortable. "This… I've never actually killed anyone before."

Xie Ren's calm voice echoed through the walls, reaching Lan Yue's ears. "Yue, they've come right to our door. As the Senior Sister, it's your duty to help your Junior Sister protect the sect's reputation."

Lan Yue sighed, feeling the weight of responsibility settle over her. She knew that as Senior Sister, it was expected of her to lead and protect, but the thought of battle still unsettled her. But seeing the determination in Chen Yinyin's eyes, she nodded.

"Yue obeys," she said quietly, stepping forward to join her Junior Sister.

Xie Ren was worried that if Lan Yue continued to remain in seclusion without any real combat experience, her cultivation would lose its edge. She needed to face true battles to sharpen her skills and deepen her understanding.

Meanwhile, outside the sect's gates, Chen Yinyin's impatience was starting to show.

"Hey, you bunch of bastards! How dare you block my sect's gate? Hurry up and jump away, you little frogs!" she yelled, hands on her hips, striking a defiant pose that made her look like a mischievous imp.

The Mystic Frost Sect disciples, already irritated by her presence, were momentarily thrown off by her strange words.

"Frogs? What's she talking about?" one of them muttered, confusion flashing in their eyes.

"Sigh, you silly frogs, how dumb can you be? You don't even realize you're frogs!" Chen Yinyin taunted, her voice filled with mockery.

At her words, one of the Mystic Frost Sect disciples couldn't take it any longer.

"Brother, this demoness is insulting us!" he quickly reported.

The man glared at the speaker who had spoken out of turn and kicked him in the chest, sending him sprawling into the dirt. He then turned his icy gaze to Chen Yinyin, anger flickering in his eyes.

This woman, standing there in her defiant stance, was simply too tempting to ignore. She had fair skin, long flowing black hair, and a beauty that seemed pure and untouched.

Despite the insults coming from her lips, her charm was undeniable.

"Beautiful girl," he said, his voice smooth and almost coaxing. "What future do you have in this shabby sect? Why not follow me instead? I promise you'll never go hungry, and you'll live a life of luxury."

Chen Yinyin just chuckled, unfazed by his words. She had heard similar lines from countless men over the years, but most of them were long dead now, their graves marked by towering trees that had grown over their forgotten bones.

"Looks like you've taken a liking to me," she said, eyeing him with a playful smirk. "Not bad. Here's the deal: If you can take just one of my strikes, I'll personally deliver myself to your doorstep."

The man raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her challenge. "Is that what you really want? No regrets?"

He hesitated for only a moment. After all, he and Chen Yinyin were both at the peak of Foundation Establishment, and he was confident that he could withstand one of her strikes. His reputation was on the line, and he wasn't about to back down from a challenge.

"Good. Let's see what you've got."
