Chapter 11 - Author's Note – The Battle of Patience and Storytelling

Alright, warriors of the comment section, hear me out. Some of you have been saying that Alice and Ash's relationship is taking too long, that Ash is dragging his feet in accepting his new reality, and that I should speed things up. And I get it—you want the good stuff now. You want Ash to look into Alice's golden eyes, have an epiphany, and then boom—eternal love, wedding bells, and maybe a pet cat named Twilight.

But here's the thing—I refuse to let this ship sail without a proper voyage.

I actually commented before that I'd aim to fully develop their relationship within the next five chapters, but that's making my chapter lengths longer than a vampire's lifespan, and honestly? It's exhausting. My sleep schedule is in shambles, my brain is running on the fumes of stubborn determination, and at this point, I might just start hallucinating my own OCs yelling at me to write faster.

And then, in the midst of my sleep-deprived state, I had a moment of clarity—why did I even start this book? Why Alice?

The answer was simple: I love Alice's character. And one thing that always annoyed me in other fanfics is how fast Alice and the OC fall into a relationship. Like, they meet on Monday, share a lunch tray on Tuesday, and by Wednesday, Alice is clinging to the OC like a koala while whispering sweet vampire nothings. And the OC? He just rolls with it—no questions, no hesitation, just "Yes, my love, our mate bond has spoken."

Excuse me? Did the bond also write their wedding vows overnight?

Look, I get that mate bonds pull you toward each other, but that doesn't mean the emotional depth of the relationship should be sacrificed. There should be romance, tension, uncertainty, and actual development. That's why I started this fanfic—to fully explore these emotions while keeping the story at a proper pace. Not to rush through it like a speedrun of Twilight: Ultimate Soulmate Edition.

So yes, these kinds of chapters will continue until Ash and Alice naturally fall into their relationship. Other things will be happening too, of course—this isn't just a slow-burn romance simulator. But if you're only here for instant gratification and rushed romance, I'm sorry, but I'm not going to compromise my story just for short-term satisfaction.

Now, onto a much more serious issue.

Back in Chapter 7, I asked if you guys wanted me to add my legendary (read: unhinged) commentary at the end of every chapter, and you never answered. How dare you leave me in suspense? Do you know how many sleepless nights I've had, pondering this betrayal?

So I'm asking again—should I continue my trash-talking, end-of-chapter commentary? If you don't know what it's like, go check out my other book, Twilight: Hunter, and witness the chaos firsthand.

Vote now.

Yes – "Give us your glorious nonsense!"

No – "Remain silent, storyteller, and let us read in peace."

Choose wisely.
