Instead of leaving the chamber, Rohan moved closer and positioned himself behind her, wrapping his body around hers. She quivered at the sensation of his warmth against her back, his long legs tucked up beneath hers, and a muscular arm thrown across her. All the textures, scents, and pulses of him surrounded her, his breath falling softly on her neck.
What an extraordinary creature this man was, Belle thought. And what a dangerous one. She had expected him to leave when she turned her back, so she could force herself back to sleep, but instead, he was now holding her, pressing himself against her from behind. The sensation caused her stomach to stir, and her heart to thud wildly.
