Chapter 3 - 3 Ancient gibberish

Its been a few weeks since Ernie had created the Immortal Language.

Hes been having fun experimenting, he even managed to make a calculator in just 6 hours. Which was an amazing feeling.

He continued his game session. He was quite bummed out at the fact he couldnt beat the 3rd mode.

So he decided on some actual self imrpovement. Going through different Qi techniques, he had discovered a few that caught his eye.

The first being, Enhance Sense, which is in the name. Using Qi to stimulate his 5 senses, he basically has a passive boost as long as he had Qi.

The second was, Channel Qi. Using Qi, he could create enhancement to his physical body. Making him stronger and faster.

And lastly, a personal favorite. Qi string, he created strings of Qi. Which could grab objects. Perfect for being lazy.

With his new Enhance Sense, he managed to get a decent, 129 in the 3rd mode.

He had also been busy with a new project, he called it Parkour Simulator. He was using this project to test out building creation.

If it was sucessful, he might add structures to Fruit Ninja. Now though, he needed to perfect the code first.

Collision was hard, especially making the physics work like real life. Hed been scratching his head over and over again at the fact his hand always fazed through the block.

He sighed, drinking water as he relaxed for a moment. Nothing interesting has been happening in his life lately. It seemed to become familiar, to his old life.

"Ernie! Can I come in?" His fathers voice came from out his door.

"Ah, no problem dad." He deactivated the Qi nao. Hearing the door creek open.

"Your always huddled up in your room. Mind showing me whats got you busy, I already know but fill ke in will you?" Lynn sat down next to Ernie.

Looking at Ernies notes, Lynn saw how messy the hand writing was. There were many different structures as well but they seemed barely legible.

"Where did you get this ancient literature?" Lynn said with a mocking tone. Ruffling Ernest's hair.

"Shut it, dad." Ernie shot back annnoyed.

"Come on, you cant blame me. This looks like gibberish." He pointed at the messy arrangement of words.

It wasnt straight, not only that but the letters randomly switched to Italics at random intervals. There was also the fact the font size went from 10 to 29.

"Its readable, thats all that matters." Ernie shrugged it off. His father frowned at this display of content when his son was only on this level.

"What a terrible mindset, alright, enough with what your doing. Im gonna teach you a thing or two in calligraphy."

"What?! This is so sudden dad. Just let me be." Ernie couldnt understand what was wrong with his penmanship. It was readible, thats all that mattered.

"Let you be what, This awful literacy? A literate person would find themselves at awe at this foreign language."

"Now your just being rude."

"Scribbles are meant for drawing Ernie, not words." Lynn slapped the back of Ernie.

"Open up a clean page, Im gonna teach you from the very beginning on how to write letter correctly." Lynn ordered.

Begrudgingly, Ernest opened up a page that was empty.

"I find this unnecessary."

Lynn rolled his eyes, jotting down clean and elegantly written versions of the Alphabet.

"Notice the difference in levels, Ernie. Fast and elegant. Why cant you?" Lynn looked at Ernest with a raised brow.

"So what, writing elegant and writing quick isnt so different in purpose. Their still meant to be words."

"Words that can be read easily, not whatever this is."

Ernest sighed, it seemed like he would be distracted from his usual coding for calligraphy lessons.

"Get to writing, Son. I want 5 pages of proper Alphabets done in just 30 minutes."

Ernest drooped, he was so not gonna enjoy this.

_A few weeks pass by_

A swift noise could be heard, approaching a figure which wielded a blade from behind its back.

Without turning its head, a swift strike was delivered. The object cut in half, as the apple fell down.

Ernest swung his sword, as quick and efficient as he could. His newly added arrangement made Fruit Ninja tougher.

Not only did the fruit feel real, it also became realistic. Hed need both technique and control in order to cut the fruits in half.

It was Ernest of course, he had just finished calligraphy lessons with his father. Their lessons would be cut short for now, as his father once more received a letter from an unknown person.

So he finally had time to dedicate himself to coding and Qi practice.

'The fruits seem to be fine now, if thats the case then Fruit Ninja is polished. I can finally move onto my side project.'

Hed spent more time than he thought he'd need on Fruit Ninja. Now it was time to get onto collision. While object to object collision was simple, human to object wasnt.

While he found a rough solution, which was layering a player with a tiny miniscule invisible object. It didnt give a natural sense, as if he was grabbing onto air.

Slicing through multiple fruit, he began to theorize more solutions. Maybe its a problem with the code or the Spell Cards hes using.

He felt his body tire out, so he activated his Channel Qi. Revitalizing himself, he continued dicing.

Moments later, he deactivated the Code Structure. With a string of Qi, he grabbed a cup of water.

Taking a small bath and changing, he began to power up his Qi nao. He began typing.

"If [User] interacts, Activate :Touch Immersion: True.

Else if Not, Remain Illusion."

After writing down a long string of codes similar to the former, He tested out the collision once more.

"This... Seems better." Interacting with the physics more. He began to add more codes to try and fix the feel. Interaction seemed to be resolved already, he only needed to fix texture.

"Im gonna lose my crap." As he felt the same airy feel. He had wasted time writing down another string of codes.
