Chapter 6 – Ladoo Loot & Shocking Revelations
Yash sat comfortably in the living room of the Kalyankar villa, completely immersed in his noble mission—finishing as many besan ke laddoos as humanly possible. He had already emptied the bowl Neelam Aunty had given him and was now diligently refilling it from the steel dabba on the kitchen counter.
Upstairs, however, the mood was far less relaxed.
In Abhishek's father's office, a serious discussion was underway.
Seated behind his polished mahogany desk was Ramesh Kalyankar, a man in his early fifties, his sharp eyes scanning the woman sitting across from him. She exuded confidence, her poised demeanor a perfect complement to the authority she carried. Beside her stood a silent, imposing figure—her bodyguard.
Abhishek, seated beside his father, remained quiet, his expression unreadable. The air in the room was heavy with tension. Whatever they were discussing was no trivial matter.
After a long pause, Ramesh leaned forward. "I understand. The elders of my family have relayed the message, and as per our oath, we will provide our full cooperation."
The young woman nodded. "I appreciate it, Mr. Kalyankar."
With that, the meeting concluded. As the group stood up, they prepared to head downstairs—where a certain laddoo thief remained blissfully unaware of the storm heading his way.
Downstairs, Yash was mid-bite when he heard the sound of approaching footsteps.
From the staircase, Abhishek appeared, his expression one of pure exhaustion. The moment his eyes landed on Yash, however, his exhaustion was replaced with rage.
"What the hell!?" Abhishek marched over, eyes locked on the bowl of laddoos in Yash's hands. "You bastard! I haven't even had one yet!"
Yash, unfazed, continued chewing. "Not my fault you were stuck in a boring meeting. Should've come down earlier."
Abhishek snatched the bowl from Yash, glaring. "Unbelievable. You really have no shame."
Yash smirked. "I prefer to call it strategic food acquisition."
After a few more dramatic grumbles, the two settled onto the couch, sharing the laddoos like the true brothers-in-arms they were.
Yash then casually punched Abhishek's arm.
"Ow! What was that for?" Abhishek glared.
Yash leaned back with a smirk. "For the goddamn reel you sent me."
Abhishek burst into laughter. "Oh yeah! You mean the one that got your dumbass electrocuted? I still can't believe that actually happened."
Yash rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up, dumbass."
Abhishek, still chuckling, took another bite of laddoo. "So, how did you even calm your parents down about your laptop? That thing should've been fried."
For a split second, Yash froze.
Abhishek had no idea about his powers.
He shrugged casually. "Oh, you know me. I just pulled some jugaad (hack)."
Abhishek snorted. "Classic. You always get away with the weirdest shit."
Yash just gave a half-smile, internally relieved. He had made up his mind—not to involve Abhishek in this mess.
Unfortunately, fate had other plans.
Suddenly, the sound of voices and approaching footsteps reached them.
"Young Miss, please don't worry," Ramesh Kalyankar's deep voice echoed through the hallway as he descended the stairs. "I have received the elders' message, and we will provide full cooperation."
Yash and Abhishek turned toward the staircase.
At first, Yash's eyes were on Ramesh Kalyankar—whom he greeted with a warm smile. "Long time no see, Uncle."
Ramesh smiled back. "Beta, it's been a while. You've been busy, huh?"
Before Yash could respond—he saw her.
Mithra Varma.
Mithra, now standing on the staircase, looked directly at him.
For a moment, time froze.
Their eyes locked, both filled with shock. Neither of them had expected to see the other here.
And then—panic.
Without thinking, Yash's emotions surged, and in his panic…
The bowl of laddoos vanished into dust.
A stunned silence fell over the room.
Abhishek blinked.
Then he turned to Yash.
Then back to where the laddoos once existed.
Then back to Yash.
And finally, with pure, unfiltered rage—
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE LADDUS!?"
Before anyone could process the supernatural occurrence that had just unfolded, Abhishek tackled Yash.
"YOU MONSTER!"
Mithra's bodyguard, Ramesh Kalyankar, and even Mithra herself stared at the scene, dumbfounded.
Abhishek's mother, who had just walked in, looked around, confused. "Why are you two wrestling? And where's the bowl?"
Mithra let out a deep sigh. "So… you didn't tell them, huh?"
At her words, the Kalyankars turned toward Yash, their expressions shifting.
"You knew?" Ramesh asked Mithra, surprised.
Mithra smirked. "Of course. He didn't exactly hide it well."
Yash groaned, prying Abhishek off him. "Oh, what are you now? A stalker?"
Mithra shot back, "Please. If I were stalking you, I'd have better things to comment on than your tragic taste in t-shirts."
Yash scowled. "Says the woman who nearly killed me yesterday."
"Still alive, aren't you?"
"Debatable."
As the two continued their verbal sparring, the Kalyankars sat in growing confusion.
Then, realization dawned on Abhishek.
He turned to Yash. "Wait… are you telling me you actually got superpowers from that electric shock!?"
Yash sighed, rubbing his temples. "Yeah. Long story short—chai, laptop, CloseAI, boom. Now I can disintegrate and reconstruct things."
Ramesh, who had been silent until now, cleared his throat. "And since when has this been happening?"
Yash shifted uncomfortably. "A few weeks."
Ramesh's gaze sharpened. "And you didn't think to tell Abhishek or us?"
Yash hesitated. "Look, I didn't know how deep this supernatural world runs. I didn't want to put you guys in danger."
Mithra raised an eyebrow. "So, you didn't know they were supernatural too?"
Yash blinked. "Wait—what?"
A complicated expression crossed Ramesh's face as he exhaled. "Yash… we are part of the supernatural world as well."
Yash looked at Abhishek.
Abhishek looked at Yash.
"...Bro?" Yash said slowly.
"Yeah, bro," Abhishek replied.
Yash ran a hand through his hair. "You've got to be fucking kidding me."
Ramesh leaned forward. "The Kalyankar family is one of the most well-known aura and chakra artifact craftsmen in India. We've existed since the beginning of Kali Yuga. Utilizing the lost arts of Mantra, we merged our chakra with modern technology and developed supernatural artifacts."
Mithra added, "They're the best known aura/chakra artifact makers in the Indian subcontinent. Their work is even used in Malaysia, Thailand, and Japan."
Yash stared.
Abhishek gave him a sheepish smile. "Surprise?"
Yash let out a long sigh. "I came here for laddoos and ended up with a family secret reveal. What the actual fuck."
Mithra smirked. "Welcome to the real world, Yash Shah."
