Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Kamui of the Left Eye

Although he was far away, Chiya had absolute confidence in his vision.

He could see clearly. The slender, frail figure was hard to identify as male or female, but the waist-length golden hair was definitely not something a man would have.

Moreover, the little girl was holding Pochita in chainsaw form. It had to be Denji.

Could it be that the Chainsaw Man world he had transmigrated into had some kind of bug, turning Denji into a girl?

While Chiya's mind was in chaos, Denji in the distance was fighting the Ant Devil.

A normal ant isn't even the size of a fingernail, but the Ant Devil was several times larger than Denji. Its gaping mouth was filled with countless sharp teeth, and its six legs were emaciated, human-like limbs.

Although not many people are afraid of ants, the incredible strength and tenacity of ants meant that a giant Ant Devil would definitely not be weak.

"Pochita, let's go!"

Denji, sweat dripping down her face, gripped Pochita and charged at the Ant Devil.

She was at her wit's end. If she didn't kill the Ant Devil and earn money to pay off her debts, she would have to sell her organs tomorrow. So no matter how dangerous it was, she had no choice but to risk it.

However, Denji wasn't yet skilled at using Pochita, and her frail body lacked strength. She was no match for the Ant Devil.

She tried to saw off one of the Ant Devil's legs but was knocked down by a massive tentacle.

"I can't… I can't beat it!"

Denji's face finally showed panic.

But the more fear she felt, the stronger the Ant Devil became.

Seeing Denji in danger, Chiya naturally wouldn't stand by and do nothing.

Running over now would be too late. His left eye widened, the whites of his eyes filling with blood vessels.

The Kamui of his left eye focused on the Ant Devil's head, and a spatial vortex appeared out of thin air, twisting the Ant Devil's neck from a distance.

This was one of the abilities of the left eye's Kamui, also known as the offensive Kamui.

Moreover, the dual Kamui of both eyes significantly increased the speed at which the spatial vortex formed and the speed of teleportation. The principle of twisting the devil's neck from a distance was "teleportation."

"Gah?!"

As its head fell to the ground, the Ant Devil let out a final "gah" before collapsing.

[Ding! Host has successfully hunted the "Ant Devil." Attribute points gained: 7!]

Denji was stunned, still sitting on the ground, too shocked to get up. She stared blankly at the Ant Devil in front of her.

"What just happened? How did it die all of a sudden?!"

Denji exclaimed in shock.

"Woof~"

By now, Pochita had returned to his usual "orange dog" form and was nuzzling against Denji.

Chiya walked toward Denji, feeling a bit unwell. His left eye was throbbing with intense pain, and a trickle of blood seeped out.

He gently covered his left eye with his hand, feeling a bit bitter. "It's still a bit too much…"

Even with his Vitality attribute increased to 30, three times that of an ordinary person, using Kamui's abilities still came with significant side effects.

Fortunately, his recovery rate was also three times that of an ordinary person, so he would gradually heal on his own.

[Ding! Distribution complete. Vitality +7!]

[Vitality: 37]

[Distributable Attribute Points: 0]

Chiya immediately allocated the attribute points he gained from hunting the Ant Devil to "Vitality." His body felt a bit better, and the pain in his left eye lessened.

Having such an overpowered dual Kamui but not being able to use it freely was truly frustrating!

This made Chiya even more eager to hunt more devils and gain more attribute points!

At this moment, Denji looked around, trying to figure out who had killed the Ant Devil. Then she saw a handsome older brother walking toward her from not too far away.

"Was it… you who saved me just now?"

Denji asked.

Chiya smiled and nodded.

[Ding! Host has unlocked the achievement "First Encounter with Denji." Attribute points gained: 1!]

[Ding! Host has unlocked the achievement "First Encounter with Pochita." Attribute points gained: 1!]

Earlier, Chiya had only seen Denji from the side and back. Now he could see her face clearly. Her features weren't too different from the original story, except they were more delicate, and she had a set of "shark-like" teeth.

But her face was dirty, and her long golden hair was messy and unkempt, as if she hadn't bathed or washed her hair in days. Only her dark red eyes were clear and bright.

Her clothes were old, dirty, and thin, and her body was skinny and severely malnourished.

Since this wasn't the original story's timeline, Denji was still quite young.

Chiya first called the truck driver and notified the police to come and handle the devil's corpse.

Listening to the phone call, Denji seemed deep in thought.

After hesitating for a while, she finally spoke up once Chiya hung up. "Um… Big brother, could you… give me a little bit of the devil's corpse…?"

Denji's tone and demeanor were cautious, afraid of angering him. But she was desperate. Even a small piece of the devil's corpse could be sold for some money.

Hearing this, Chiya shook his head.

It wasn't that he was cold-hearted, but even if he gave her the entire devil's corpse, it wouldn't help.

This all went back to Denji's background. Her family fell apart when she was young. Her mother died of heart disease, and her father, an alcoholic, borrowed a huge amount of money from loan sharks.

At one point, her father went mad and tried to kill her, and she had no choice but to defend herself, resulting in his death…

Under the interference of the loan sharks, she was saddled with her father's debt, which was close to 100 million yen.

In short, even if Chiya gave her the entire Ant Devil's corpse, it wouldn't be enough to fill the bottomless pit of debt. Her situation wouldn't change at all. Eventually, the loan sharks would force her to sell herself to make money, turning her into a tool with no freedom…

Seeing the older brother shake his head, Denji's eyes dimmed, and she lowered her head, filled with despair.

But she didn't throw a tantrum or cry.

She knew that no one was obligated to help her. The fact that he had saved her earlier was already more than enough.

Chiya sighed with pity. "How much debt do you still have left?"

Denji was stunned for a moment, then started counting with a dazed expression. After a while, she suddenly realized something was off. How did this stranger know about her debt?

She looked up, about to ask.

"You still owe close to 100 million, right?"

Chiya spoke first. "This devil's corpse won't change your situation. Let's try a different approach and solve the problem at its root…"
