Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: What is the End?

Am I already dead?

A drop of water fell into the void, then another. Little by little, the abyss began to fill with the echo of those drops.

No one. Nothing tangible. Only the abyss.

Where am I? I don't feel my body, but I perceive the floor. As if touching something that exists… and doesn't at the same time.

I can't speak. I have no body… I'm not even a sound.

Then what am I?

Something within me falls… and yet, it remains. I am the void and that which fills it.

I want to see. I want to escape this place.

Where am I? Why am I here?

Suddenly, a white light sparkled. Then again.

The void devoured me… and I did the same to it.

I began to fade little by little, becoming transparent.

And then…

Someone was gently cleaning my body before wrapping me in a soft blanket.

Where am I?

I was no longer in that strange place. But the sensation of emptiness still weighed inside me.

I tried to move, but my body was weaker than I'd imagined.

When I finally opened my eyes, the world flickered between clarity and fog.

I was in the arms of a beautiful woman with silver hair. Her warm hands held me firmly, and her delicate pats on my back sought to provoke a cry.

Something inside me burst suddenly, and unable to resist, I broke into tears.

The woman hugged me to her chest with infinite tenderness.

"My precious little Seik," she whispered in a soft, loving voice.

Seik. That is my name.

Then I understood. But it was too late.

The movement of my neck was still clumsy, limiting my view of the surroundings. From what little I could see: the delicate texture of the blanket, the finely carved furniture, the radiant expression of my mother… I deduced I'd been born into a wealthy family.

Wait… the language of this world should be different from Earth's, right? How can I understand it without any issues?

No matter.

I guess I don't have any emotions in this world either.

Are emotions innate, or do we develop them over time?

Perhaps, in this world, that will be my journey.

Or maybe not.

To be honest… I prefer not to feel anything.

Mmm… I'm so sleepy…

Seik fell asleep peacefully in his mother's arms.

Eris gazed at her son with absolute devotion as she gently caressed his face.

The sound of approaching footsteps shattered the room's tranquility before several people entered.

A man with dark hair and red eyes approached the bed.

"How is the child, Eris?" he asked, observing the baby in her arms.

He was accompanied by maids, as well as adults and children dressed in black jackets, white shirts, and dark pants. All seemed expectant.

"He's a healthy boy… Erick. Will you train this one too?"

"This country needs The Fénix family. With our abilities, we are the only ones who can eradicate the malignant tumors plaguing our lands," he replied firmly, his gaze severe.

Eris lowered her eyes to her son. Silence filled the room like a thick shadow, broken only by the crackling of the fireplace.

Finally, she spoke:

"I don't like it. I'm terrified that something might happen to my son because of his father's whims. I'm so afraid of losing him… like Nux."

"We'll raise him to be strong, so that won't happen. We won't repeat the same mistakes. Believe me, Eris, I don't want to lose a second child either."

Erick spoke with severity. His tone brooked no argument, but behind his words lingered a hint of warmth.

"Alright. I'll abide by your decision. But you should know… if I lose this child, I don't know if I can bear that pain again…"

Tears welled in Eris's eyes, but she refused to let them fall. She had already made up her mind.

Erick looked at her seriously before answering with determination:

"I swear, I won't let Seik die."

Clutching her son tightly, Eris released a trembling sigh before leaning in to kiss Erick tenderly. Then, both pressed gentle kisses to the sleeping child's forehead, silently sealing their vow to protect him at all costs.

The fireplace crackled softly nearby, its faint warmth spreading through the room and wrapping the family in a fleeting moment of peace.
