It's 5 a.m, the sun has not even risen yet but Haphuco has already opened his eyes. No need for an alarm clock, he has been "kicked" out of his bed to wake up at this time for morning training since he was young so this is simply the force of habit. Immediately when Haphuco wakes up,...

[ Slappppp ! ]

He slaps his cheek. He slaps his cheek with all his mind. Sometimes, the slap can get so hard that his cheek turns a bit red. That's his own way of trying to get conscious as fast as possible from the sleep. If today is the right cheek then tomorrow will be the left cheek, fairness for both sides of the cheek.

After waking up, Haphuco goes to the bathroom and does everything that anyone would do in the bathroom every morning. Brushing his teeth, cleaning his face, taking a sh*t, all normal activities. Haphuco also use the tweezers to pluck thin hairs on his beard because beard makes you look old and Haphuco does not want to look old. After that, it's time for his daily exercise.

100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups and 100 squats

This is the training exercise that he learned from Uncle Jowi, the Manager of the Orphanage where he once spent his entire childhood living in until he went to the School four years ago. Jowi said he got to know about this kind of training method from a bald guy but he did not say anything much more than that. Haphuco could not remember when he started doing this exercise but it must be when he was still young. Of course, the standard at first was low, going from 10, 25, 50, 75 and finally 100. It's like trying to swallow a big bitter piece of pill, very hard but once it gets swallowed, the rest of the process is simply handled by your body unconsciously. The training was exhausting at the beginning but now it is just like a health-preserving exercise that a bunch of old people do every early morning that he sees during his running, no longer difficult, maybe having become a bit easy. Anyway, it's time for the exercise.

Push-up: Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels. Lower your chest until elbows are at 90 degrees, then push back up. Engage your core and avoid sagging or arching your back.

Sit-up: Lie on your back with knees bent, feet flat. Cross arms over chest or place hands behind your head without pulling your neck. Engage your core, lift your torso toward your knees, then lower back down slowly.

Squat: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart. Keep your chest up, back straight, and lower your hips until thighs are parallel to the ground. Knees should not go past your toes. Push through your heels to stand back up.

These are some brief description of how to do each exercise correctly and get the most out of them. Have yourself a 5 minutes break between each exercise. No more than 5 minutes, makes sure to keep a close eyes on the timing, do not give yourself up to the feeling of tiredness, discipline is the key. Drink water during every break, it will help you more or less.

96, 97,...98,...99,...

...

100 !

That's three exercises done. Everything needs a progress and a will to complete it. You start from nothing, you look back to where you start a few times and now you have completed the race. It's roughly 6 a.m, quickly clean the sweat on the floor and it's time to come out of the room for the last exercise which is 10 km run. Haphuco steps outside his apartment, you have to assume that everyone is still sleeping so better walk quietly. Having stepped outside the house, it's time to sprint.

Coincidentally, like something that is set up from a bloody novel author, the distance between the house and the city center is just a bit above 5 kms so Haphuco can take that as the turning point for the run. During the run, Haphuco maintains the running speed of 10 km/hour but at various points in the period when he will increase his speed gradually to 20 km/hour for a brief moment before going back to 10. It usually takes between 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes to run 10 kilometers but for Haphuco, it only takes him around 50 minutes, not really impressive but he is not trying so it's fair.

After intense running, you should not rest immediately but walk slowly so Haphuco intentionally runs slower and slower until he returns to the house. Although he has grown accustomed to the training but one thing never changes is his excessive sweating. He sweats so much that it's like a rain has just fallen only into his own head.

It's 7 a.m and Haphuco's daily exercise is over.

Floret : Good morning, Haphuco.

It's Floret, one of the tenants living in the house like him.

Haphuco : Oh, hi, Sis Floret, are you planning to water the flowers ?

Sis Floret is a florist. She owns a store near the city center. Weight unknow, age even more unknown. With the permission from Mr. Biudo, she has been growing several different kinds of flowers around the house which make the surroundings of the house much more beautiful. Let's see, there are Tulip 🌷, Lily 🌸, Orchid 🌺, Sunflower 🌻, Daisy 🌼, Peony 🌿, Chrysanthemum 🌾, Lavender 💜, Jasmine 🌿 and Bara ( Rose 🌹). Wait, Bara... Oh ! So that must be where the name of Mr. Mayo's daughter, Miss Barami comes from. The red-pink color of her hair really resembles the color of the flower.

Floret : I wish I could wake up earlier to water the plants when they can absorb the most moisture but this is the best I can do. Not to mention today is Sunday so oh my, it is even harder to wake up. Therefore, I am impressed that you can wake up so early in the morning, Haphuco.

Haphuco : Haha, it's nothing too special. Now I should go taking a bath, see you at the breakfast, Sis.

Haphuco must smell stinky so he definitely need to go back to his apartment and clean himself up. He has 30 minutes before the breakfast starts. One special thing about renting an apartment in Mr. Biudo's house is that the breakfast is included in the rent fee and Mr. Biudo will make breakfast for anyone living there. The breakfast is set to take place at 7:30 every day which can be a bit too early for a Sunday morning but maybe that's his way of saying you should not wake up late in the morning.

On his way back to the apartment which is at the end of the basement, Haphuco meets Dorin, another tenant in the house who is on his last university year.

Dorin : Good morning, Haphuco. Damn, still working hard even if it is Sunday. You are really something else, man.

Haphuco : It's nothing, really. Are you heading to the breakfast ?

Dorin : Yeah, I am thinking of helping Mr. Buido a bit with making the breakfast. He is literally making the breakfast for everyone by himself.

Haphuco : That's admirable, Brother Dorin. I am going to take a shower for a bit. See you at the breakfast then.

The bathroom inside the apartment has both a standing shower and a bathtub. This seems really redundant but very considerate from Mr. Biudo. Apparently Biani prefers the bathtub more while Haphuco tends to use the standing shower. He agrees that bathing in a bathtub will be more comfortable but that's the reason why he does not like it plus he believes it will take more time than using the standing shower. After taking a shower, it's time to go upstairs and head to the room where the breakfast is served.

Haphuco : Hi everyone.

Biudo : Oh, Haphuco. Come on in. I see that you just took a shower, probably from the early exercise, isn't it ?

The breakfast today is bacon and egg with milk to drink and some fruits to eat for deserts.

Hana : Good morning, everyone !!!

What's a lovely voice and that's coming from Hana, the only child in the house. She is the daughter of Mr. Cavin and they are the second to last tenant living inside the house to be revealed in this chapter.

Biudo : Hi, Hana-chan. It's good to see you being so energetic in the morning.

Cavin ( Sound sleepy ) : Good morning, everyone.

Dorin : You sound sleepy, Mr. Cavin.

Cavin : To be honest, I want to sleep more but this rascal kept waking me up to have the breakfast. She really does not like me in this part, haha.

Floret enters the room after having done with her caring for the plants. 15 minutes passes and Momo, the final tenant shows up. People says don't judge people by their appearance but man, she is not looking like someone who is a teacher of a popular private school in the city. Her appearance is a bit... revealing. Dorin tries to look away out of embarrassment while Biudo is unpleased with how Momo looks.

Momo ( Yawn ) : Good morning, guys.

Biudo : You are late again, Momo. And once again, wear something more appropriately. You are supposed to set an example to Hana, aren't' you ?

Hana : I think you are really cool, Sis Momo !

Momo ( Smile ) : See, Mr. Biudo. Hana-chan said that I am cool. So there's no problem here, right ?

Biudo ( Irritated ) : Yes, there is !

...

Everyone eats the food, share about the stories they have, it's a pleasing time for Haphuco and it feels great to see people around him look happy. The breakfast eventually ends and each person has a different plan for the day of themselves.

Floret : I am going to my store for some business.

Dorin : I am having a job today.

Momo : I am going to sleep more.

Cavin : I am going to take this rascal to the cinema in the shopping mall.

Hana : Me and my father are going to watch Freeze 2 today !

For Haphuco, he will go to the supermarket to buy food for cooking, especially to prepare for the dinner today as Biani will come back home from her "business trip" by that time. He don't have any work on Sunday which is often spent as a resting day for most people. Even the restaurant of Mr. Ba and Haphumi chooses to not open on Sunday. There are some other activities that he regularly do on Sunday but that's a story to be told in another chapter.

Time passes and it's night-time, the ingredients have been prepared and tonight Haphuco will make a dish that he learned from Mr. Ba. Someone is opening the door, it must be Biani. Thinking like that, Haphuco looks towards the opening door, ready to greet Biani coming back home.

Haphuco : Welcome back, Bia...

Biani : Hi, Haphuco...

Wait, someone is with Biani.

May : Nice to meet you, Haphuco. My name is May, I am Biani's co-worker and her best friend !

It seems like one more mouth is needed to be fed for the dinner today.
