Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

A glowing blue panel appears before me, floating in midair.

[Congratulations! You have activated the Multiverse Magic System! You can now access all magic in the multiverse!]

I stare at the notification, my expression blank. This system chooses to show up now? Right after I enroll in the Academy? Goddammit. This system will be helpful before I enroll here! I need to use the knowledge of my previous life and work hard to remember the new knowledge of this world.

A long sigh escapes my lips.

Anyway, I was reincarnated into this world after dying in one of the most ridiculous ways imaginable—choking on water. In my panic, I spilled the rest of it, slipped, and slammed my head against the edge of a table. I don't even know if I died from internal bleeding or my skull cracking open, but before I could process what was happening, everything went black.

Then, I woke up in a new world.

It is a world of magic, wonders, and endless possibilities—a world where power determines one's future.

Unfortunately, I was not born into a noble family or one of the prestigious magical bloodlines. Instead, I found myself in a commoner's household in a medieval society where status determines everything. That meant I had to work my ass off to get where I am now.

After years of effort, I managed to earn a place in Jilantar Magic Academy, the most prestigious magic academy in the Bulkan Empire. My parents were beyond proud when I passed the entrance exam. Even nobles struggle to gain admission unless their families bribe the Academy's officials with absurd amounts of gold.

On paper, Jilantar Magic Academy prides itself on merit, selecting only the best and the brightest regardless of background. But I know that's complete bullshit. Nobles still hold influence, especially since the Academy is located in the imperial capital, Buaan City. Favoritism runs rampant, and students from powerful families enjoy privileges that commoners like me can only dream of.

Despite that, I fought my way in and earned my place.

The problem is that if this Multiverse Magic System had arrived earlier, I could have entered Class A instead of Class B. That may not sound like a big difference, but A-Class students receive everything they need for free—research materials, personal laboratories, and exclusive training grounds. Meanwhile, B-Class students still have to pay for those resources, even if we get discounts. Below me, there are four more ranks: C, D, E, and F. The only way to move up is through academic performance or by winning in special tournaments. If an F-Class student is talented enough, they can theoretically reach A-Class by sheer skill and determination.

That is exactly what I plan to do.

I will get to Class A before the semester ends.

A new notification appears before me, hovering like a ghostly message from the heavens.

[Do you want to claim your first magic system?]

A simple Yes or No button waits for my response.

Without hesitation, I press Yes.

The system flickers, scrolling through a massive selection of magical systems from across different worlds. Names flash by too fast to read, until the movement suddenly halts.

[Congratulations! You have obtained the Skyrim Magic System! Please choose your starting School of Magic.]

The answer is obvious. Without hesitation, I select Restoration.

A new notification immediately follows.

[Congratulations! You have unlocked Healing, Healing Hands, and Lesser Ward. You will gain more spells as you advance in your chosen school of magic.]

At the bottom of the panel, I notice a new status bar.

[Restoration (Skyrim): Level 1 - Novice]

I narrow my eyes at the level system. It really does function like a game. If Skyrim rules apply, I need to reach Level 100 before I can break past Novice.

Before I can even voice the question, the system responds as if reading my mind.

[That's right.]

A small relief washes over me. At least it's straightforward.

I made the right choice picking Restoration as my starting magic. Healers are in high demand, and I can rapidly level up by working at the Adventurer's Guild and do not need to worry about competition. The reason? I am a commoner who doesn't care about status. Unlike noble healers who demand outrageous sums for their services, if a commoner begs for their service, I can offer my abilities at a lower price and attract more clients.

Originally, I planned to study Elemental Magic to become an adventurer and earn gold for my tuition fees. Why? The first two years at the Academy are free, but starting from the third year up to the eighth, students must pay for their education. I had intended to take combat-oriented classes to secure my future, but with this system, I need to adjust my strategy.

A new thought crosses my mind. If my magic system follows Skyrim's rules, will I get bonus mana every time I level up?

The system immediately responds.

[No. You will not gain additional mana upon leveling up. However, your mana regeneration will increase when you rest or consume food. Search for the best ingredients to maximize your regeneration.]

That complicates things. My mana pool is above average, but it's not enough for extended healing. I need to find ingredients that enhance mana recovery to make the most of my grind.

Still, I can work with this.

Healing Hands is an Apprentice-level spell, which means the system knows I'll need it to increase my Restoration level faster. I need to exploit this as much as possible.

I shake my head, pushing aside unnecessary thoughts. It's time to head to pick the first course of this year.

===///===

The lecture is painfully dull.

The professor spends the entire session explaining the history of healing magic within the Bulkan Empire. I hold back a yawn as he drones on, feeling as if I've been transported back to my college days.

After enrolling in the Healing Magic Course, I received a certificate allowing me to legally work as a student healer. With this, I can take official healing jobs at the Adventurer's Guild, which is a massive advantage, considering how expensive healing services are.

Most of my classmates are nobles and wealthy merchants' children, which is why they despise my presence. Healing magic is one of the most profitable branches of magic, and those who master it control wealth and influence. The reason I got in was purely because of my intelligence, though my commoner status and mana reserves prevented me from entering Class A.

I ignore their disgusted stares. Their opinions don't matter.

I have one goal—to graduate, build wealth, and secure a comfortable future.

Once class ends, I waste no time leaving the Academy and heading straight to the Adventurer's Guild. I ignore their sneer and continue my walk. I leave the academy grounds and arrive in front of a massive building near the academy.

The moment I step inside, the atmosphere shifts. Conversations lower. Eyes turn toward me, studying me.

Some look curious. Others are judgmental.

I ignore them all and make my way to the receptionist's desk.

The woman behind the counter glances at me, eyes flicking to my Academy uniform before offering a polite, if cautious, smile.

"Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild. Are you here to post a mission?"

"No." I shake my head, placing my Student Healer Badge on the counter. "The opposite, actually. I'm here to take a job."

The receptionist raises an eyebrow.

I meet her gaze, put my healer badge on the counter, and continue.

"If anyone is willing to be healed by a student, I'm available."
