So many holographic interfaces, that he removed each one of them but one caught his eye the most.
"Focused Shot"
In Infinite Dungeon, every class has an offensive attack that has 'focused' written on it. For the Rogue, they have 'focused stab' which is a more powerful version of their normal attacks. In this case, Archers have a 'Focused Shot'. It can only be used if the Archer Class character has 15 points on their STR status.
[ "Focused Shot"
Details: This happens when the user pulls the bowstring far from its original pull. It results in the arrow being faster, can pierce through objects like wood, and possibly go through the skulls of weaker enemies. It can also reach farther, but it weakens the bow's durability. Use it too many times and the bow will shatter and possibly whip you with the string snapping. ]
Glad that I have this technique in my arsenal now. Though, shouldn't be used usually. I do not want to fight like a warrior again. He looked around, lots of corpses, and the flames had disappeared. Unfortunately, he did not kill the goblins that were affected by the fire spell blast. He didn't obtain any of their experience, but he could at least loot their items, if they still exist that is.
After a few minutes, he has looted over 7 bodies of goblins.
[ Items looted: 47 Copper Coins, 2x Clubs, 3x Dirty Loincloth ]
"Quite a huge haul. Now, let's see what the Elite boss dropped."
Nash perches over the dead Goblin-Mage's body as he searches for something of value. After a few seconds, he looted 2 items. His eyes widened.
"W-what?!"
[ Goblin-Mage dropped: Book of Fire, Goblin's Footwear ]
Two rare items, and I did not even put too many points on my LUCK stat yet! This is incredible!
Book of Fire, also known as an item you can read to learn how to use a simple fire magic spell. It produces a small orb of flame that can be used as a projectile. It doesn't explode like what the mage had.
What the Goblin-Mage used earlier was Fira, an evolution of the Fire spell. It explodes upon impact, and the orb of fire is much larger. This is why it's called an evolution of the Fire spell, which the book has written on it.
Nash instantly opened it, expecting to gain the ability to wield fire. However, nothing happened. The pages contain words he isn't familiar with, and a pop-up interface appears.
[ You do not have the required INT for this book ]
"Ah– I-i see."
I should've expected that instead of getting my hopes up. This is the realistic mode after all, meaning that I need to learn the language and that I need to have the required INT for it. For now, it is a valuable item that can be learned and sold for a few gold coins. Better keep this.
He opens up his inventory and puts the Book of Fire inside, and an amulet appears upon his hand.
"Goblin's Footwear, I did not expect this item to appear at all. Especially for how overpowered the effects are."
It doubles the player's agility, making it one of the overpowered items in the game. However, the effect only lasts until you hit level 20. So, it's an early game meta item that helps players in the long run, especially those who run classes that focus on an agility build.
"Equip."
The amulet disappears and reappears on his neck, it has been worn. Nash sighed and immediately ran towards a wall and performed a backflip. His body felt light like a feather. He landed gracefully without injuring himself, his limbs didn't feel any sprain or anything. His AGI stat has been doubled for sure.
"Before I get attacked again, I should put my points into my stats now. I could die if I encounter another Elite-type enemy."
"12 Status points, what should I spend it on?"
He puts his fingers below his chin, scratching it as he walks towards the opposite direction where the goblin-mage came from. After walking for a few minutes, he arrived at the stairs that led upwards. Meaning, the third floor. He is finally getting closer to escaping the Infinite Dungeon.
Nash looks at each step. Then, he slowly walks upwards.
"Put four points on LUCK, and put four points on WIS and the rest on INT."
His AGI stat is pretty much covered for now due to the Goblin's Footwear artifact. Prioritizing other status like luck, wisdom and intelligence is much more important. Luck is the most crucial status to put points in due to the loot drops, wisdom is needed to increase how far and deep he can see, and intelligence to wield magic and not accidentally overclock.
Overclock is a system in Infinite Dungeon, where if the character uses too much mana it reaches the negative, they get paralyzed and potentially die if there are no allies besides your character. So, it would be best to invest in INT for now that he got his STR in a stable condition.
Nash looks upwards, at a circling staircase. It would take a few minutes before finally reaching the third floor.
Going upwards means that enemies would get easier as he goes up, and the possibility of encountering adventurers. Fortunately, encountering thieves is nigh impossible on the first 3 floors. After floors 4-5, encountering thieves is gonna be more usual.
"I wish… I could see my character profile. Character Profiles are so important because they keep track of your overall status and show your character's skills. How come I can't access my own?!"
He screams in frustration, punching the wall to only hurt his knuckles. Nash sighed and calmed himself, caressing his knuckles for comfort.
Suddenly, an interface hologram popped up right in front of his face. Halting his movement when he was just about to take a step on the stairs.
[ Second Mission: Escape the Dungeon Within 6 hours.
Reward: Character Profile Access, Quiver, 64x Arrows
Failure leads to Death.
3 Hours Remaining. ]
[ 30 minutes until the Crimson Moon rises ]
"What?"
His pupils widened. Am I reading that correctly? There's gonna be a crimson moon literally after I reach the 3rd floor? And I only have 3 hours to escape the dungeon and failure to comply means death?
Are you fucking kidding me? Is my luck on the negatives?!
