Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

"So, it's you who have entered my territory?"

Calyrex held the Reins of Unity in its hands. Though its stature was not tall and its voice was neither loud nor deep, its tone carried an indescribable majesty that instilled a heavy sense of awe in those who heard it.

That was the dignity of a king!

Once the King of Bountiful Harvests in the Galar region, Calyrex was a true monarch!

"This is… the legendary king!"

The air was filled with an indescribable weight, making Marnie's chest feel heavy and her breathing almost difficult. She pursed her lips tightly, not daring to look directly at the king riding the white steed.

But in her heart, Marnie was utterly shocked.

Eternatus had already been captured by Ryuu Shiro, so she hadn't directly experienced the divine might of a high-level Legendary Pokémon. Even though Eternatus was the calamity that had nearly destroyed the Galar region, Marnie couldn't help but lose her fear of it.

As for Galarian Moltres and Spectrier, they were merely ordinary Legendary Pokémon, their presence far less imposing than that of a true deity.

But Calyrex was different. Calyrex was the legendary king of Galar, and it was impossible to tell whether it was friend or foe.

The heavy majesty of Calyrex made Marnie feel a sense of reverence for Legendary Pokémon for the first time.

"It's an honor to meet you for the first time, King of Bountiful Harvests."

Seemingly sensing Marnie's unease, Ryuu Shiro stepped forward, shielding her, and gave a slight bow to Calyrex with a smile.

Truly worthy of being a king among Pokémon.

Ryuu Shiro straightened up and met Calyrex's gaze, unable to help but marvel inwardly.

Calyrex's stature was by no means tall among high-level Legendary Pokémon—it could even be described as "petite."

After all, Calyrex stood just over a meter tall.

Its head was adorned with a large green bud resembling a crown, and its neck was lined with pearl-like beads arranged in a regular pattern. It had a pair of wings, and overall, it didn't appear particularly special.

But the kingly majesty it exuded was enough to make one forget about its size and appearance.

"Oh? You know of me?"

A glimmer of interest appeared in Calyrex's blue eyes as it scrutinized Ryuu Shiro.

It had once been a king, but that was in the past.

Even it couldn't remember how many years it had spent hidden away in the Crown Shrine. Yet, here was someone who recognized it at a glance and even addressed it by its former royal title.

"The existence of the King of Bountiful Harvests is naturally known to me, and the reason I've come here is to seek out the legends of the king."

Ryuu Shiro replied with a calm and respectful smile. For this legendary king, Ryuu Shiro indeed held a sense of reverence.

After all, it was an extremely benevolent king, and Calyrex's deeds were more than worthy of its title as the King of Bountiful Harvests.

For such a Legendary Pokémon—or even a human—who truly harbored goodwill, Ryuu Shiro would always show respect, even if they were opponents.

"Are you truly here merely to verify the legends of me? Human, while you may respect me, you lack the dedication to me. Your lies are not particularly subtle."

Calyrex's wise and majestic eyes stared intently at Ryuu Shiro. It didn't believe that Ryuu Shiro had come solely to seek out its existence.

Ryuu Shiro raised an eyebrow, looking at Calyrex with surprise.

"You've gained Eternatus's recognition. That is indeed surprising to me, but Eternatus's power is not so easily retained."

"You've come to find me—or rather, to lure Zacian into my territory and provoke a conflict between me and Zacian, correct? What a cunning human."

Calyrex's clear telepathic voice carried no trace of displeasure, instead brimming with the wisdom of one who held all the cards.

Spectrier had just found it and informed it of the two humans entering the Crown Shrine's territory.

Initially, Calyrex hadn't paid much attention, as it had been in seclusion for so long that even within the Galar region, its legends were rarely spoken of.

Let alone someone who knew its location.

So Calyrex had assumed the two were merely adventurers who had stumbled into the Crown Shrine by accident.

But Spectrier had told it that the human carried Eternatus within him!

And with that, everything became far more interesting.

"It's said that Calyrex possesses unparalleled wisdom. Truly, the rumors do not disappoint."

Ryuu Shiro's crimson eyes sparkled with admiration, for Calyrex had indeed guessed his intentions correctly.

Eternatus had already absorbed too many Power Spots in the Crown Tundra, and in Ryuu Shiro's view, Zacian would undoubtedly follow Eternatus's aura here.

At present, a battle between Eternatus and Zacian would be highly unbalanced, with Eternatus at a severe disadvantage.

From a distance, it might not be an issue—as long as Eternatus hid its aura within a Poké Ball, Zacian wouldn't be able to find it.

But if both were within the Crown Tundra region, and Zacian began patrolling at its incredible speed, what if they had a "romantic encounter"?

So… Ryuu Shiro had thought of Calyrex, who resided in the Crown Shrine!

"Zacian is a true natural enemy of Eternatus. We have no intention of making an enemy of Zacian."

"However, Zacian's prejudice against Eternatus runs too deep. I believe Calyrex is not so unreasonable, am I right?"

Ryuu Shiro remained composed, his crimson eyes meeting Calyrex's as he spoke with steady confidence.

In this situation, he had no choice but to lay his cards on the table with Calyrex. If things didn't work out, he could simply abandon the remaining Power Spots and leave the Crown Tundra.
