Dictionary

This chapter is a guide to the things I introduced to the Riordanverse.

I added some Murim elements and homebrew concepts and made this so that people unfamiliar with Wuxia can also enjoy the story.

I will explain everything in the book too but if you forget what is what you can always look here.

Here is a small dictionary for you:

Qi: Life energy. Martial artists use this energy for everything. It can be obtained through elixirs or martial arts, especially mind arts.

Vital Qi: The Qi you are born with. It is extremely powerful and nearly impossible to gain later in life.

Meridian: The spiritual veins through which Qi flows.

Dantian: The place where Qi is stored.

Shaolin: A Buddhist temple secluded from worldly desires. It is the oldest martial arts sect.

Namgung Clan: An ancient noble clan dedicated to the path of the sword.

Zhuge Clan: A noble clan known for strategy and tactics, famous for their expertise in formations and intelligence.

Tang Clan: Specialists in poison and assassination.

Wudang Sect: An orthodox sect known for its soft sword techniques and wisdom.

Mount Hua Sect: Known for their elegant and beautiful swordsmanship.

Sun Moon Divine Cult: The cult of the Heavenly Demon. They are not particularly important, but just know that they are usually the bad guys and use purple flames.

Martial Ranks (Ordered by power level):

Third Level: Novices who lack Qi and have just started training.

Second Level: Possess minimal Qi and have mastered basic sword arts.

First Rank: Masters with barely superhuman abilities and sufficient Qi.

Peak: Martial arts masters at the peak of pure mortality. They can barely reach the speed of sound.

Fusion: The first step toward ascension. Their bodies rejuvenate, and their lifespan extends significantly. They are literal superhumans.

Profound Realm: The second step toward transcendence and the final stage of mortality. This rank prepares one for ascension. Comparable to demigods like Heracles.

Transcendence: The absolute pinnacle of martial arts. The effects differ from person to person, but quasi-immortality and eternal youth are guaranteed. They are gods shackled by flesh and can achieve power equal to an Olympian.
