Chapter 10 - A Good Place to Belong

A Good Place to Belong

Einar realized why he liked the Weasley house. After all, for as long as he could remember, he had to train magic with his mother and fight with his father. They weren't the most loving parents in the world. Even when he turned 13, he was sent to join the militia or the Stormcloaks just to get him out of the house.

Einar felt that raising him was nothing more than a duty for his parents and nothing else. They never showed appreciation or feelings for their son.

Einar realized that this was possibly due to his dragon soul, which never truly connected with his parents. He didn't know if previous Dovahkiin had the same problem or not. After all, they were rare, but there was something that connected them all to some extent.

And that was that they were always seen either as a tool or as someone to be served, nothing more.

In Einar's case, even though he had comrades he fought alongside, he didn't have many friends, and those who were, Einar valued their friendship like gold. Even so, they could be counted on the fingers of one hand.

While the rest only wanted to be near the Dragonborn.

But since he arrived in this different world, it seemed that this didn't affect the people here. After living among fakes, he could tell that the Weasleys were real. And they liked him for being himself.

"I like this place, Akatosh. You chose well," Einar said as he sat down to read a book outside the Weasley house, on a terrace he had built along with the twins.

Einar had the idea of building it with wood from trees they gathered from the forest not far away. It was made to teach them magical runes in a more comfortable, open-air place. Especially since Mrs. Molly often brought snacks while they studied.

The twins had been studying with him but asked for a break and ran off somewhere, leaving him alone.

"Is that a book of ancient runes? I've never seen it before. Where did you buy it?" asked an unfamiliar voice approaching Einar with interest.

Einar looked up from the book and found a fifteen-year-old girl with bushy brown hair, quite tall and a bit slim, looking at him with curiosity.

"Well... I didn't buy it anywhere. I wrote it myself," Einar replied calmly.

This book was where he noted the connections he found between the runes of both worlds. He usually spent several hours looking at it, finding other connections before testing them.

He had already found hundreds of connections that month, so the book was quite full.

"Really? So, you compiled them from other books? I usually do the same to study better. I copy the necessary information and then write it down in my notebook to study more efficiently," said the girl quickly.

"Well, let's say that's the case," Einar replied softly.

"Oh, sorry. My name is Hermione Granger, I'm a classmate of Ron and Harry," the girl introduced herself.

"Einar... Dovahkiin," Einar said, introducing himself for the first time with his last name. He chose this surname after realizing he needed one here.

He had a surname in Skyrim, but he rejected it after his parents practically threw him out of their house.

"Dova...? Sorry, it's hard to pronounce. Where's it from?" Hermione asked with interest.

"It's a Nordic surname written in an ancient magical language. It means 'The Dragonborn,'" Einar explained patiently.

"Magical language? I've never heard of something like that," Hermione said with even more interest.

"Yes. The language is called Dovazhul. It is said to be the tongue of the legendary dragons. Each of its words is filled with power," Einar explained.

"Dragons? But they don't speak," Hermione replied quickly, frowning, thinking Einar was lying.

"I'll show you a word," Einar said quickly.

"FUS."

Then, a wave of air lightly hit Hermione, almost making her fall to the ground. But Einar quickly stood up and grabbed her arm to keep her from falling.

"Sorry, I should have looked in another direction when using the word," Einar apologized quickly.

"I-It's okay," Hermione replied, a little embarrassed because Einar was so close.

Realizing it, Einar quickly took a step back and sat down again.

"Cough... If all the words of that language are so powerful, how do they speak?" Hermione said as she coughed to clear her throat.

"Obviously, you have to put mana into your words for them to activate; otherwise, they're just ordinary words. Although, after using them for so long, your own voice becomes so strong that even a whisper can make the ground tremble," Einar explained calmly.

"That's why I have to wear this mask. With it, I don't have problems with my voice being too powerful," he said while pointing at his face.

"I see... so you're from one of those old magical families... or something like that... Ron said some of those families have powerful spells or magic they don't want to share with the world. And this is the first time I've heard of Dovazhul," said Hermione with a bit of caution. After all, in Hogwarts, those who belonged to these families were all from Slytherin, who despised 'mudbloods' like her.

"Magical family? Oh, you mean the so-called purebloods. No, I'm not one of them. I come from another continent. And I learned the language from my masters called the Greybeards. They live on the peak of a frozen mountain," Einar quickly explained.

"Although I was born with a special ability to learn this language, so they taught me everything in just a few days. While it took them decades. Oh, but they are stronger than me. After all, they had to take a vow of silence to avoid accidentally destroying the world with their voice," Einar explained.

"The world? Really?" Hermione asked in surprise.

"Well, maybe I exaggerated. It might just be a continent," he said quickly.

"That's still an exaggeration," replied Hermione.

"Well, there was an idiotic guy who learned the Voice for a while and, thinking he was the most powerful, went to assassinate an emperor, so it's quite a powerful ability," Einar said.

"Hermione!" Ron's voice called from not too far away; with him was Harry, looking in their direction.

"My friends are calling me. See you, Einar," Hermione said as she waved with a smile and walked toward Ron and Harry.

"I told you to be careful, that guy is dangerous," Ron muttered angrily. Obviously, Einar heard him quite clearly.

"Why? He doesn't seem like it to me," Hermione replied quickly.

"Just don't get close to him, he's a lunatic," Ron said quickly.

"Alright, Ron. I don't think he's a bad guy. After all, he's teaching the twins something, and your parents get along well with him," Harry said quickly.

"That's because you guys moved the storm he summoned. It could've killed everyone in the area. And remember, he almost ripped your uncle's jaw off and tore your cousin's tongue out," Ron said quickly.

"Yeah, and it was awesome. Although about the storm, the twins said they were never in real danger since he cleared the sky quickly."

"It's not just that. I also think he's a compulsive liar. When I met him, he said he defeated all the teachers, including Dumbledore. And he's always talking about that power of his voice or whatever," Ron said quickly.

"I think you're just jealous, Ron," said Hermione, tired of her friend's nonsense. And then she walked into the house.

"Jealous of that guy? Of course not," Ron said quickly.

Harry just shook his head and led Ron somewhere else.

Meanwhile, Einar didn't care at all about their argument.

"I just shared a lot of information way too quickly. In the assassin's guild, they would laugh at me. In the thieves' guild, they'd be mocking me; the others would make me the joke of the month. Sigh." Einar said as he put his book away and thought about everything he had said.

"It doesn't matter, the Weasley family knows quite a bit, and the old man Dumbledore too. I should start keeping everything a better secret," he said quickly as he started walking towards his house calmly while watching the river flow gently.

Later, the twins went to fetch Einar for dinner, and he went with them back to the Weasley house.

Actually, Einar was a good cook. He had many recipes. Even magical recipes that he gave to Mrs. Weasley, after all, he ended up eating there all the time, and they didn't want to accept money for their food.

So, Einar caught the twins, Charlie, and Bill, who were visiting, to help him and created a cultivation area for fruits and vegetables. He also brought more chickens and other farm animals, increasing the ones the Weasley family already had.

Of course, he bought the land next to the Weasley family to do this. And the family didn't want to accept it until Einar told them that they would take care of it for him and, in exchange, they could use whatever they wanted as payment. That way, he could eat with more confidence when he was with them.

So, they ended up accepting, as Einar wouldn't have time to take care of the crops and animals.

And above all, it would be a great help to the Weasley family's economy.
