"Hahaha." One of the portraits started laughing while the others quickly turned to look at him, confused.
"Everard, what's gotten into you?" asked another portrait, looking at his always calm and observant companion.
"Haha, sorry. That boy... as the youngsters say these days: Awesome!" Everard said with a smile.
"Dumbledore, you have to fire that guy. He's a danger to everyone in this school," Phineas Black quickly said, the same portrait that had been stabbed by Einar's dagger.
"Do you really think that's the best idea? That boy mentioned many titles that sounded dangerous. And above all, he was right about everything he said," said one of the headmasters holding an ear trumpet.
"Dumbledore is acting for the good of the wizarding world. If that child is necessary to protect our world, his sacrifice will be an honor," Phineas quickly added.
"If our magical world needs the sacrifice of a child, then maybe it doesn't deserve to be saved," said one of the headmistresses dressed in a doctor's outfit, shaking her head in sorrow.
"It seems I'll have to change some plans," Dumbledore said, paying no attention to the headmasters in the portraits. Many of them, upon hearing what Dumbledore said, quickly shook their heads without even bothering to say anything.
"Thane was a noble title assigned to the personal guard of a lord in the Kingdom of Scotland during the Middle Ages, equivalent to a barony and similar to the huscarls of the Viking kingdoms in Scandinavia," said one of the headmasters in the portrait while thinking; this was the headmaster before Dumbledore. "If Dumbledore were to fire him, we would leave someone incredibly powerful out there. If he were corrupted by darkness, we'd end up facing someone who could be even more dangerous than the Dark Lord," he said while deeply pondering.
"It's better to keep him close to monitor him." Dumbledore stood up and went somewhere else, not wanting to listen or say anything more.
"Dumbledore is too obsessed with that prophecy," said one of the headmistresses while shaking her head, exhausted.
........
Meanwhile, on Einar's side, after leaving Dumbledore's office feeling angry, he walked through the hallways with a cold gaze.
Everyone was already frightened by the tremor from a moment ago, so when they saw the new professor with a rather deadly look, they quickly ran away.
Einar suddenly stopped when no one was around and said in annoyance:
"Prophecy? What nonsense." Then he started calming down his anger since he had to give one last class, this time with the sixth-year students.
"Einar!"
"Idiot, it's Professor Einar now."
"Oh, right. Professor Einar, good afternoon," the Weasley twins said as soon as they entered, smiling while sitting on his desk.
"Alright, go back to your seats," Einar said calmly as he approached.
"Wait, we have something to ask you," Fred said as he and George approached to whisper to Einar.
"That tremor was your doing, right?" George asked, getting straight to the point.
"Something like that. Just go back to your seats, class is about to start," Einar said quickly.
"What do we do, Fred? Our great Einar has joined the enemy camp," George said, acting overly betrayed.
"Don't worry, George. Maybe he's just an undercover agent," Fred said quickly, putting on some sort of theatrical performance in front of the others.
"If you two don't sit down, I'll deduct points," Einar said swiftly, looking at them.
"Looks like our friend Einar was corrupted by power," Fred said with fake shock as he and George returned to their seats.
"I had planned to teach you the same thing I taught the younger students before, but that would be too repetitive. So today, I'll teach you blacksmithing," Einar said calmly, surprising everyone.
"Blacksmithing? But we're at a magic school," a young man sitting behind the twins said quickly.
"I'm aware of that," Einar replied calmly.
"But..." Before the student could continue speaking, the twins intervened.
"Hey, Lee, if I were you, I'd think about what you're about to say," Fred said quickly.
"Didn't you hear what happened with Malfoy during his first class?" George quickly added.
"Professor, I'm excited to learn blacksmithing," Lee Jordan quickly said with a confident smile.
Einar looked calmly at the boy and the others, and quickly spoke.
"Calm down. Even though I said blacksmithing, I'll simply teach you how to make your own swords or daggers. Then I'll teach you how to handle them, and whoever performs the best, I'll enchant their weapon myself," Einar said swiftly.
"Really, Einar?" Fred quickly asked, while George was just as excited as him.
Seeing the twins' excitement, everyone quickly paid attention.
"Of course," Einar replied promptly. "That way, if you lose your wands, you can defend yourselves and not end up as cannon fodder. Let's go," he added as he left the classroom.
Quickly, everyone got up and followed him, intrigued.
"Where are we going, Einar?" George asked eagerly.
"Outside. We'll be working with hot metals, and we don't want to set the school on fire," Einar replied swiftly.
"Professor Einar, is it okay if I ask you something?" Lee Jordan said as he approached.
"Sure," Einar responded patiently.
"Well, it's not that I'm saying swords or daggers are bad, of course not. But... wouldn't it be better to learn powerful magic? That way, we wouldn't need to learn to use a weapon. But like I said, it's not that it doesn't sound cool," Jordan said, trying not to sound like he was belittling swords to avoid angering Einar.
Einar glanced at him before asking:
"What happens when you cast several spells or a powerful spell using all your strength?"
"Uh... exhaustion?" Jordan replied, somewhat confused.
"So, when you're tired, can you keep casting magic?" Einar asked again.
"No... If we keep casting magic, we could pass out," he quickly admitted.
"Then, if you launch a powerful magical attack against multiple enemies and only manage to injure some of them, how will you defend yourself from the rest?" Einar asked again, making Jordan and the others listening to the conversation ponder.
"Not only that. If you had to face all the students, starting with the first-years, and you unleashed your most powerful spells from the start against kids who don't even know how to use magic yet, you wouldn't even make it to defeating the second or third-years," Einar said calmly as they kept walking.
"Well, when you put it that way..." Jordan said while thinking.
"By using a weapon other than magic, you not only avoid exhausting all your magic from the start, but you can alternate magic with your sword, allowing your magic to regenerate when you deplete it," Einar explained calmly. "Or maybe you end up becoming so skilled with the sword that you can even cut through spells thrown at you and defeat an enemy who is a more powerful wizard than you."
"Einar, did you defeat wizards more powerful than you thanks to your sword?" Fred asked with interest.
"I've defeated dragons with just my sword or my mace," Einar replied with a proud smile.
Everyone, upon hearing that, was quickly surprised.
"That's a lie, right?" one of the students said, making Einar stop, as well as everyone else who was following him. He quickly looked in the direction of the one who had spoken.
Meanwhile, Fred and George started making gestures at the student to take back what he said, showing through pantomimes that he'd be sliced up.
Seeing the twins' gestures and being stared at by the professor, the student quickly became nervous.
"No... Well, I... I thought you were making a joke... so I was wondering if it was true or just something to make us laugh," the student quickly said, trying to find a way to save himself.
Then, everyone saw Einar pull out a large white greatsword with a black handle. Everyone started trembling as they felt the immense magical power radiating from that sword.
The young man who had spoken before also began trembling with fear, thinking Einar would cut him in half right there.
"This greatsword was forged by me. Its edge can cut through any material, and its enchantments make it a lethal weapon against any species. Not only that, with every cut you make to your enemy, you yourself are healed. I used this greatsword to fight a dragon one of the first times. The battle lasted hours, but in the end, I was the victor. Later, I used its scales and bones to craft myself armor, so it would be easier to face the next ones," Einar said proudly while showing the greatsword to the students.
Realizing he just wanted to explain something to them, everyone stopped being scared and moved closer to take a closer look at the weapon. Meanwhile, the student who had spoken earlier almost wet his pants.
"Einar, can I hold it?" Fred quickly asked.
"Ah, I was going to say that," George quickly added.
"Sure," Einar said without concern, handing his greatsword to the twins.
Fred quickly grabbed it with excitement, but he couldn't even lift it since it was quite heavy.
"Sigh. It's better if we stop wasting time," Einar said, storing the sword again.
