Chapter 27: Juzi The Taste of My Father

As this thought crossed his mind, Tang San's expression grew even darker. "Hmph, Destruction, it must be you. You dare to interfere with my plans you're bringing about your own demise!

Unfortunately, this isn't the Douluo Continent, but the God Realm. Even if gods in the God Realm have conflicts and one emerges victorious, it's generally forbidden to kill the other."

The number of god positions in the God Realm was fixed unless the realm expanded, new positions wouldn't normally appear. That's why, when Tang San shattered the Angel God and Rakshasa God positions back then, some gods in the God Realm had secretly voiced their dissatisfaction.

After all, both of those were first level god positions, and there weren't many of those in the God Realm.

"Forget it. I'll have Da Ming take Xiao Qi on a tour of the Douluo Continent while Er Ming continues guarding the Haotian Sect. I must find that rising star and put him through various trials until he becomes my son in law and helps me carry out my plans!"

After all, he had even arranged the Valley of Love's Trials how could he not use it? If he didn't, wouldn't that be a waste?

God Realm Forbidden Land.

A man draped in a deep purple cloak slowly stepped out. Under his hood, two glowing red lights flickered. He glanced at Tang San, who stood among the clouds in the distance, then quietly withdrew his gaze.

Sun Moon Imperial Palace.

After listening to Jing Hongchen's report, Kong Deming's face showed a faint smile. "Not bad. Huo Yuhao's jet engine idea is indeed excellent he's a genius in the field of soul tools.

"Moreover, for someone so young to have such a powerful soul skill… even if he was born with deficiencies, no matter the cost, we must ensure he becomes a Titled Douluo!"

"Sir, about the soul bone…" Jing Hongchen looked at Kong Deming with some tension. In the Sun Moon Empire, Kong Deming's prestige was incredibly high after all, nearly all living ninth tier soul engineers had been mentored by him in some way.

"The soul bone issue is tricky. You've given me quite the challenge." Kong Deming sighed. "In all my years, I've never heard of a soul bone that enhances an existing soul skill. Even the royal treasury doesn't contain such a thing.

"I'll have others keep an eye out. If we ever find such a soul bone, we'll immediately give it to Huo Yuhao," he said indifferently.

The Next Day Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy

On a grassy field, Huo Yuhao set up a rack and skewered fresh fish one by one. He turned to Juzi. "Senior Sister, how many fish do you want to eat?"

According to their agreement, Juzi had lent him money to help him out of his predicament, and in return, he was to treat her to a meal three days later. Now that the three days had passed, not only had he repaid the 240,000 gold soul coins, but he had also set up a grill to let her experience his grilled fish skills.

"How many? Let's start with one. If your grilling skills aren't up to standard, I'll take over to prevent the fish from being wasted. As a cook, I can't stand seeing food go to waste," Juzi said with a smile.

Huo Yuhao simply smiled and said nothing, focusing on grilling the fish. Of course, he didn't just prepare one he hadn't eaten yet either, so he needed food too.

After some time, the fish was ready. He sprinkled some seasoning and looked up at Juzi. "Senior Sister, the fish is done. Want to try it?"

"Mm." Juzi nodded, picked up a skewer, and took a bite. Initially, she wasn't expecting much, but as soon as she chewed the first piece of fish, her expression changed.

This taste…

Tears welled up in her eyes, blurring her vision. She took big bites, eating faster and faster as silent tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Senior Sister, why are you crying? Did I make it too spicy?" Huo Yuhao asked, surprised.

"No… It's not spicy at all." Juzi's voice was choked with emotion. She looked at Huo Yuhao differently now. "Your cooking… it reminds me of my father's. He was the best chef in our town."

She began to share the untold story of her past, and Huo Yuhao listened attentively. Of course, as a transmigrator, he already knew her background.

Juzi's father had died at the hands of Duke White Tiger Dai Hao's Star Luo army, and her mother, devastated by his death, fell gravely ill and passed away soon after.

This was why Juzi hated Dai Hao so much and harbored ambitions of taking over the Star Luo Empire. And in the future, on the battlefield, Dai Hao would be utterly overwhelmed, nearly leading to the empire's downfall.

"Thank you, Yuhao. I haven't tasted my father's cooking in years… but your food has that same flavor."

Her gaze toward Huo Yuhao softened noticeably. He knew that her attitude toward him had changed significantly after all, in the original story, a major reason why Juzi fell for Huo Yuhao was because his cooking reminded her of her father's.

"Senior Sister Juzi, I'm actually an orphan too…"

Huo Yuhao started to share a similar experience to resonate with her. Of course, he didn't reveal his identity as Duke White Tiger's son. At this point in the original story, Brother Huo could indeed be considered an orphan his mother, Huo Yun'er, had passed away, and Dai Hao didn't even know he had a son with her, so he had never shown Huo Yuhao any fatherly love.

Some people may be alive, but they might as well be dead Dai Hao was exactly that kind of person.

"I see… You must have had a difficult life as well. Just like me, you're an orphan too."

Hearing Huo Yuhao's story, Juzi felt a deeper sense of sympathy for him. Her gaze grew even gentler, almost tender.

"Senior Sister Juzi, do you want more grilled fish? I made extra just for you." Huo Yuhao smiled warmly, offering her another skewer.

"Yes!"

Just as Juzi was about to take the fish, a female voice called out, "Huh? Huo Yuhao, what are you doing here?"

"Senior Sister Meng! What brings you here?"

Huo Yuhao looked in surprise at Meng Hongchen, who was approaching them.

"I just finished class and was heading out for a stroll."

Meng Hongchen quickly walked over, her gaze shifting between Huo Yuhao and Juzi. When she noticed Juzi's tear streaked face and slightly reddened eyes, her mind instantly filled in a dramatic backstory. She couldn't help but blurt out, "Huo Yuhao, what did you do to Juzi?!"

Because class had just ended, there were quite a few students around. As a famous genius beauty, the granddaughter of the headmaster, and the sister of an insufferable older brother, Meng Hongchen was undoubtedly one of the academy's most well known figures.

As soon as she walked up to Huo Yuhao, many students instinctively turned to watch.

Her sudden exclamation immediately piqued their curiosity after all, gossip was human nature.

"Huo Yuhao? I've heard of him. Isn't he the genius who broke Xiao Hongchen's record? I heard both Teacher Xuan Ziwen and the headmaster think highly of him…"
