Elena's slap landed crisply on Mary's face.

The sharp sound echoed in the air. Mary covered her face, looking at Elena in disbelief.
"Aunt, you... You actually hit me for that woman?"
Elena glared at Mary, and when she saw the palm print on her face, a hint of distress flashed in her eyes.
Although Mary wasn't her biological child, she was the one who had raised her.
