Chapter 5 - 5: Space pocket

"When is he gonna come back?" Rhaë asked the System outloud. She needed answers, and quickly. So she didn't bother to ask in her head.

'...host, did you know? You're scary when you change your expression and voice like this...' The system complained while looking at his host's terrifying face and listening to her ice cold voice. If it had looked closely, it would've seen small lightning shadows growing in his host's eyes, bit luckily he didn't see it. Or else it might've went into a fear shut down.

"Do I look like I have the time for this kind of games?? Answer me!" She demanded to the system

'Ok ok what do you wanna know???!' ( TДT)

"Why the hell am I here??" She asked in the calmest tone she could manage

'Hmm...can't tell you that' ┐(-.-;)┌

Rhaëlya could feel herself spiraling from here.

All her failures. Her uncle telling her that she should give up her heiress seat to his son because she's not fit for it. The academy forcing her to attend their curriculum when she didn't want to. The fact that the heir seat went to her cousin, that uncle's son since her little sister was in no condition to take over. Although it was supposed to be temporary. Now, if she's stuck here it'll be indefinite.

All the competition at the academy. All of the souls she had to return to their maker as the heiress and as part of the elite of the academy. All for what? To get stuck here??

'I don't want to stay here. And i won't. I'll break this world if that's what has to he done to leave.'

Her eyes were an empty, terrifying shade of blood red. Her body full of lightning and frost all over.

Crypt was stunned and the system was in tears, the screen went dormant.

Rhaëlya felt her body heat up and her heart drumming in her chest. And suddenly she couldn't feel anything anymore. But her abilities were still running rampant, destroying everything around her.

Two hours later, Rhaëlya woke up in a place unknown to her. The grass was green but the sky was a mix of sunset pink and sunrise orange. The wind was clean and cold on her skin.

At this point she wasn't surprised nor panicked, simply confused. She didn't know where she was, again.

[Welcome to your own space dimensional space! This is a small pocket that the universe has gifted you! Here, time stops so it keeps everything fresh, the water has healing properties and spiritual energy! You can grow anything that you want in here, even extinct plants since the earth here is blessed by the Gods!]

The screen once again popped in front of her, this time with a long introduction to where she was. Contrary to the first time it popped up.

"What happened? I remember getting angry and spiraling but nothing after that."

[...You went berserk and obliterated the cave. Luckily that snake knew how to protect himself. He's still waiting for you to wake up though.]

"Wake up?" She asked, her brain still foggy

[Yes, this place is sort of like your subconscious. But not really, your subconscious was too chaotic to implant a space like this in it. Had we done it, it would've turned into a spiritual hell. But anyway, only you can access this place along with anyone you willingly bring in here. But only through your soul, meaning that your physical body is dormant outside.]

"Alright, now get me back into my world." She still insisted, now that her head was clearer. She truly didn't want to stay in that world. And she needed to go back.

[That's not possible. Your existence in that world has already been erased.] The screen said.

"..."

Suddenly the space around them crackles.

Ariel, the one behind the screen panicked. This space wasn't supposed to bend to his host's emotions.

Or did he underestimate his host's powers??

Anyway, he still needed to do something to calm her down, and quickly.

[Please calm down. Although your existence from that world has been erased, you can still access some of it's technologies and inventions through your bag.]

Rhaëlya took a deep breath to try and calm down. She was angry but she knew that she couldn't force herself out. Not yet anyway.

So she processed what the screen said and was now irritated.

"What bag? I didn't have any bag with me when I woke up there." She grumbled.

[This bag.]

The screen glowed before showing her school bag in front of her. It must've transferred it from her world to here.

"And how is this supposed to give me access to my world's technologies? And what identity do I have among the beastmen? Do humans even exist here?" She asked back to back. Now she remembered a few beastmen world novels she read throughout her middle school and in most, the female lead was either the sole human or the only "good" human, because the other humans were either evil or completely non existent.

[Actually, your body has been through a modification when you were brought over in this space. The Gods of this world have granted you the power of "Shift" meaning that as long as you eat a single body piece of an animal or beastman, you can copy their beastform and powers, which are called blessings here. But you also have you own beastform, a snow leopard. An extinct and loved species here.]

"...What do you mean I have to eat a body part...?" Rhaëlya was disgusted at the thought. She might be desperate but she won't eat a sentient being. She'll kill one, sure, but not eat one.

[It means that if you want to take over a snake form, you just need a scale or a hair strand of the snakeman outside. And you'll choose whether to completely impersonate him or just take his beast form and adjust it to your gender and liking. You'll only be able to change the hardness and colors along with some forms of it to match a female beastkin though.]

"Oh, in that case it's alright." She sighed.
