Chapter 106 - Chapter 106: The Perfume’s Name—Golden Legend

Stepping into the backyard, Sean found the distillation equipment already set up: flowers and glass bottles neatly arranged, four children led by Tom standing by with firewood.

"Ready when you are, Lord Sean!" Tom chirped, eyes bright with anticipation.

Sean began directing the process, simple yet precise:

Alcohol Distillation: With Leviathan controlling the flame, the still heated the ale to 80°C—just below water's boiling point, concentrating the alcohol. Two distillations yielded a potent, clear liquid.Essential Oil Extraction: Rose petals were steamed, their fragrance condensed into delicate oils through repeated distillation.Blending: Sean mixed oil, water, and alcohol at a 6:4:1 ratio, stirring until the pink-tinged mixture smelled of summer roses.

As he worked, Sean explained every step to the children, unconcerned about leaks—Leviathan's watchful gaze ensured loyalty.

Henry hovered nearby, frowning. "My Lord, will this… perfume truly sell?"

"Trust me, Henry. You'll understand when the gold pours in." Sean sealed the first vial, flecks of pink impurities swirling inside. No matter—the world has never seen such a thing.

Turning to Tom, he asked, "Master the process?"

"Absolutely!" Tom beamed.

"Good. You'll oversee production. Excellence earns each of you a 1 gold raise in monthly pay. Understood?"

The children knelt, gratitude in their eyes. "Yes, Lord Sean!"

Sean dispatched Windsor and Henry to buy supplies, then retreated to his study to refine plans for the luxury shop. An hour later, a familiar voice echoed at the gate—Lucio, accompanied by Jessica Rivers' ornate carriage.

Lucio dismounted, grinning. "Came for lunch—again!" His smile faded as Jessica stepped from her carriage, elegant but tense.

"Lucio, shouldn't you be preparing for your father's ascension?" Jessica chided, though her tone lacked bite.

"I would, if I knew where he was!" Lucio shrugged. "Why are you here, Jessica?"

She hesitated, then lied smoothly, "I need Sean's help with tonight's banquet."

Sean emerged from his study, clutching a perfume vial. Jessica's presence is a gift— he thought, a noblewoman as my first brand ambassador.

"Welcome! What can I do for you both?"

"Just here for food," Lucio chimed, already eyeing the dining hall.

Jessica, more formal, said, "Banquet protocol requires a dance partner. Would you honor me, Lord Sean?"

Sean's frown turned to a smile. A dance? Perfect. "It would be my privilege. And I have a gift for you—preview of something divine."

He handed her the vial, tone solemn, "Guided by the Light, I created this. I call it… Golden Legend."
