At the start of the fight, just as Fortis was about to punch Hector, Hector threw a Portable Desizer into the player tunnel. Upon hitting the ground, it emitted a bright light and a smoke screen. Veda watched the smoke with curiosity, his face gradually shifting from shock to anger as the screen cleared.
Emerging from the smoke was Emrys Arlorias. He wore an elegant woolen white coat with the word "Victory" written in red kanji on the back over black tactical trousers and leather boots. A Wakizashi was strapped to his left side, and he held a long sheathed Odachi Katana in his right hand. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches with a strong build, Emrys looked down at Veda with an expression of complete indifference.
Veda knew he was in deep trouble. With Fortis gone, his only escape route was through Emrys, a seemingly impossible task. Desperation crept in as he tried to hide his fear.
"Go on then, cut me down with your blade like you did the others. Show your true self; it's just us. Why do you hesitate?" Veda taunted.
Without responding immediately, Emrys scanned the room slowly before looking at Veda.
The battle between Aeron, Hector, and Fortis had commenced, and the sounds of metal clanking could be heard.
"Have you no moves again? No last-ditch trump card up your sleeve? I mean, this is your opportunity to release all your hidden potential on me and turn the tables, is it not?" Emrys' voice was as calm and somber as his expression.
"Klause pulled a good one." Emrys gestured as he said.
First a smirk, then Veda let out an ominous laugh that grew louder.
"It's hilarious you think you've won, it truly is." His laughter subsided. "You should be outside right now battling Fortis with your allies; at least that would increase your chances of victory by, let's say, 0.5%. But no, you're just so dumb...
"This is how it ends: either you cut me down now, join your allies in fighting Fortis, and then eventually lose—or you delay, and Fortis meets you here and stomps your ass into the ground. Either way, you lose!" A hint of panic was hidden in his voice.
"I like that you still have strength left in you, but underestimating us will lead to your defeat. If my comrades don't take down Fortis, they will wear him down. Then, when I'm done with you, I'll finish things up with him and draw the curtain close on all of this.
"You allowed Klause to create your path, and you traversed it blindly. Now you face the consequence. I had mine as well, just as everyone else—for such is part of life. Use everything you have while you still stand," Emrys replied.
Veda realized he had heard enough. He pretended to give up to put Emrys off guard.
The indifferent look in Emrys' light grey eyes remained.
After five seconds, Veda raised his head and explosively dashed towards Emrys, aiming to escape through the damaged player tunnel.
