Chapter 46 - The Venomous Wolf

"What's going on here?"

Ning Fengqing arrived at Su Ming's location with a team of police officers in three patrol cars. The chaotic scene before them made everyone gasp in shock.

"I was heading home, and then..."

Su Ming briefly recounted the events.

"Check the surveillance footage for any anomalies."

With a wave of Ning Fengqing's hand, several officers immediately headed towards the surveillance cameras scattered around the intersection, while the others approached the nearly totaled car.

Two minutes later, an officer rushed over.

"Captain Ning, all the surveillance cameras have been tampered with. There's no evidence left at the scene except for that van!"

Ning Fengqing's eyes narrowed.

At this moment, another officer who had been examining the vehicles approached and reported, "Captain Ning, the van's license plate is counterfeit, and the vehicle has been heavily modified. Su Ming's car is almost totaled, but the van only has minor damage on the exterior."

"I see."

A serious look flashed across Ning Fengqing's eyes as he looked at Su Ming solemnly. "Someone is after you! Who did you cross?"

Su Ming nodded slightly and said, "I'm not sure, but the person who attacked me was highly skilled and went straight for the vital points. They were definitely not an ordinary person."

Ning Fengqing nodded slightly and asked, "Be careful. Do you need me to assign someone to protect you?"

"No, thank you."

Su Ming shook his head. "I'll be careful."

"Alright, take care of yourself. Your car is probably totaled. I'll give you a ride home. We'll handle the rest. If you have any leads, make sure to notify me. I'll also keep you informed if we find anything."

"Okay."

Su Ming replied and followed Ning Fengqing to one of the police cars.

As for Ning Fengqing's offer to notify her of any leads, Su Ming didn't give it much thought. A large corporation like Wan Hua Real Estate would likely be beyond Ning Fengqing's reach. Su Ming was confident; with his system, he didn't need anyone else's help.

Soon, Su Ming returned home, took out his phone, and downloaded a stock trading app to check the stock prices of Wan Hua Real Estate. Seeing the sea of green indicating a drop in Wan Hua's stock price, Su Ming smiled faintly.

"Heh... Wan Jing, is it? I'll play along with you."

He tossed the phone aside, took a shower, and went to bed.

Meanwhile, at the top floor of Jiangzhou Grand Hotel, in the city's most luxurious imperial suite, Wan Jing sat on a large leather sofa, holding a stack of documents.

"Su Ming, holds thirty percent of Hongda Real Estate. He used to be an ordinary person, unable to even come up with a few hundred thousand. Suddenly, he became rich. It's quite strange."

Wan Jing wore a thoughtful expression.

Ma Ru stood respectfully by his side.

"Forget it, it's just Jiangzhou. No matter how much power you have, you're still just an ant," Wan Jing muttered to himself. Suddenly, he turned to Ma Ru and asked, "How did things go?"

"Poison Wolf has already gone. Perhaps he has already taken care of it."

Ma Ru replied respectfully, a sly smile playing on her lips. She still vividly remembered the events of the day and hated Su Ming to the core. Since she had followed Wan Jing, when had she ever been treated like that? To her, it was an insult.

"Good job."

Wan Jing nodded lightly.

"Thank you, Young Master."

Ma Ru bowed to Wan Jing.

"Hmm?"

Wan Jing frowned, and a fiery light flickered in his eyes.

*Knock knock*

Just as Wan Jing was about to act, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in!"

Wan Jing's face darkened, annoyed by the interruption.

Ma Ru, looking displeased, turned and opened the door.

Standing at the door was a burly man, his face pale.

"Poison Wolf?"

Ma Ru raised an eyebrow.

Poison Wolf didn't speak but walked into the room, directly approaching Wan Jing.

"Young Master, I failed. He's still alive."

Poison Wolf knelt before Wan Jing.

"Oh? Give me a reason."

Wan Jing's voice was calm.

"He's not an ordinary person. His reaction was quick, and the carefully planned accident didn't harm him. I personally intervened, but in just one exchange, I was severely injured."

"And Young Master, he asked me to pass a message to you. He said..."

Poison Wolf paused, seemingly considering whether to continue.

"What did he say?"

Wan Jing asked calmly.

"He said... that you've messed with someone you can't afford to mess with."

"Oh? Heh... interesting. Is there really someone in this small Jiangzhou that I can't afford to mess with?"

A ripple of emotion passed through Wan Jing's otherwise emotionless eyes. After a long silence, he asked, "Is that true?"

"I wouldn't dare lie to you, Young Master."

Poison Wolf quickly replied.

Wan Jing fell into deep thought again. During this time, Poison Wolf remained silent, his head lowered as if awaiting judgment.

Finally, after a long while, Wan Jing spoke again, this time addressing Ma Ru.

"Assistant Ma, give him one million."

Ma Ru nodded hurriedly.

"Take good care of your injuries," Wan Jing said to Poison Wolf.

"Thank you, Young Master," Poison Wolf thanked.

Wan Jing fell silent, and Poison Wolf stood up and quickly left the room.

The atmosphere in the room grew heavy, and Wan Jing murmured to himself.

"Su Ming, it seems you have more to hide. Very well, I'll play along. Let's see if you can handle the game."

*Buzz*

At that moment, Wan Jing's phone on the table vibrated.

"Tsk."

"What does the old man want now?"

Wan Jing said irritably.

Ma Ru quickly stepped forward, picked up the phone, and put it on speaker.

"Dad!"

Wan Jing called out reluctantly.

"Yesterday, Wan Hua's stock price plummeted, and two billion in market value evaporated. Was that related to you?"

Wan Tong's voice came through the phone, filled with hidden anger.

"Dad, I'm in Jiangzhou, and I haven't done anything!" Wan Jing hastily replied.

Suddenly, an unrealistic thought crossed his mind.

Could it be related to Su Ming?

Of course, he dismissed the idea immediately. How could it be possible? For a Fortune 500 company to lose two billion in market value in a day, that would require some extraordinary means. Could Su Ming really have such power?

In Wan Jing's view, Su Ming certainly didn't have those means.

"Better be that way. Hmph..."

*Click*

Wan Tong hung up with a cold snort.

"Damn it!"

Wan Jing's composure finally broke, and he felt a surge of anger. Wan Tong's attitude irritated him deeply.

"I'm really angry right now!"

Wan Jing looked up at Ma Ru.
