So what is this? Well, this is something that has been playing in my head for a while. It's a combination of several ideas I had, including storylines with and without Lucifer. I've been playing with it a bit. I do have to say that this is not going to be a novel of hundreds of pages. If I'm honest, I didn't think the others would be either when I started writing, so we'll just have to wait and see.
This story is AU, which means it is not totally based on the original series. Some things come directly from the TV series, and other things come purely from my imagination.
In my story, Lucifer has been living in Los Angeles for a few years and has met Chloe. Amenadiel is making Lucifer's life miserable; however, he has not yet brought Graham back from hell. Unlike the series, I let Ella make her entrance into my story a little earlier. The story begins the night before the murder at the warehouse in episode 6 of season 1. You know the double episode where Amenadiel plays a dirty game with Lucifer and his wings in hopes of changing his mind and eventually sending him back to Hell.
As mentioned, this is a bit of a playground for me, where I can give free rein to the abundance of plot bunnies I sometimes have. So I don't know how far the story is going to go, what episodes and issues from the series will come up in my story, what characters will make their appearance, and what their purpose will be. That also becomes clear to me only when I put it to paper. All I have is a thread that I want to work with and stick to.
All I can and will say in advance is that I want to get rid of the eternal betrayal of Maze on the one hand and Chloe on the other. Not that they won't have ups and downs; no, our Devil is too chaotic for that. But I want to put more emphasis on the supernatural. What good is a series filled with Angels and Demons if they seem to differ from humans in almost nothing? The Celestial will be much more pronounced in my story. In addition, I wanted the "cast" to act more like one big family. A sometimes chaotic, dysfunctional family that is sometimes at odds with each other, but a family nonetheless. Hence the title "Big Happy (?) Family".
Since I first put these chapters online, I've changed or added small bits here and there. Mainly in a few dialogues to make a few things clearer. Don't worry, there's absolutely no need to reread them, because the essence of the story remains exactly the same. Of course, nothing stops you from doing so and discovering the changes.
For those who are interested, on YouTube and Rumble, under the same name @sandroromanov, I created a channel with an audiobook version of some of my work. I started with a few chapters from my other story, "Alexander". There is also a detached story of what could happen if you have a mischievous little Antichrist of 12 reading a book that addresses a phobia that Hitler had. God may know what the little guy might get into his head to make life in the Hell of Hitler's soul a little more unpleasant....
