"How dare you..." Esthair muttered, his eyes burning with fury as he stared at the woman who was supposed to be his wife. "How dare you replace me… with someone so insignificant...?"
He looked ready to explode, but before he could continue, a golden aura began to radiate from his body, distorting the space around him, making the atmosphere almost unbearable.
Still calmly seated on Seth, Connie gave him an enigmatic smile. With a smooth motion, she removed the support bar attached to the headboard and set it aside with a carefree ease. Then, just as casually, she picked up her panties from the floor and put them on, her face expressionless, completely disregarding Esthair's presence.
"Insignificant?" she repeated, a subtle smile curling her lips. "Insignificance is something defined by the strong. You remember that, don't you?" she said, grabbing a robe and tying it with practiced grace, maintaining a posture of absolute disdain.
"I'm stronger. And that's why I see you as insignificant." Her voice was cold, and a thunderclap echoed through the room, as if nature itself was responding to the intensity of her words. "Besides, he and I have a far more exciting story than our joke of a marriage born from some shitty business promise."
Esthair, disoriented, looked at her with a mixture of rage and disbelief. "You killed them all… innocent women..."
Connie shrugged, as if her actions carried no weight. "Hm? Of course not. Adultery is a crime. I simply punished criminals." Her indifference was almost unsettling.
She looked at him with icy eyes, devoid of mercy. "Well, not all of them. I haven't killed you yet." Her voice was sharp, and the sudden shift in her demeanor revealed a being completely different from the woman Esthair once thought he knew.
Esthair tried to hold himself together, but his words rang hollow. "You'll pay for this," he growled.
With staggering speed, Connie vanished from his sight. Esthair didn't even have time to react; when he realized it, she was already in front of him, her hand around his throat with the grip of a predator. He tried to fight back, but it felt like he was being crushed by a superior force.
"Barking dogs don't bite," Connie said, her voice dripping with icy intimidation. She looked into his eyes, and a chill ran down his spine.
She let him go — just for a second. Like a goddess descending upon a worm, she walked calmly back to the bed, picked up a thick folder of documents, and tossed it to the floor, scattering papers everywhere.
"Sign it, you piece of trash. Divorce contract. Everything was already prepared. Just needed your signature."
Esthair staggered, coughing, and wiped the blood from his lips. "You… you think you'll get away with this? I'll ruin you. I'll destroy your reputation, your career, and that brat over there..."
He charged with uncontrollable rage, a crimson aura gathering around his fist. "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!!"
Seth, sensing the danger, instinctively activated a skill he didn't even know he had.

His eyes lit up with electricity, and his body vanished in a crackling blue flash.
Esthair's punch hit only air — his hand tore through the wall with force, cracks splintering out across the room. Seth reappeared beside Connie, kneeling, sparks dancing around him.
"You..." Connie looked at him, surprised — and a delighted smile slowly formed on her lips.
"Don't ask me, I have no idea," Seth replied, slowly getting up. Using a Rank-S ability had taken a heavy toll on his body — but it had saved his life.
Esthair turned, eyes full of hatred. "YOU COPIED HER ABILITY?! YOU BASTARD… I'LL—"
"Enough."
Connie's voice sliced through the air like a blade. She vanished again.
But this time, she didn't appear behind Esthair.
She appeared inside him.
In a brutal instant, Connie's hand pierced straight through Esthair's chest, emerging from his back with his heart — engulfed in flames — resting in her palm. The shock on his face was absolute. Eyes wide. Mouth agape. No sound.
She shoved him aside with disgust, letting his body fall like a useless chunk of meat.
Without a word, she dropped the heart to the floor, where it burned to ashes. The electricity in the room flickered. The golden aura that had filled the space vanished.
Connie wiped the blood from her hand onto her white robe and took a deep breath, as if she had just finished a tedious chore.
Seth stood frozen in silence. He didn't know whether to thank her… or run.
She looked at him, and her gaze softened — just a little.
"That worm should've been dead years ago. I just waited for the right moment. Now… finally… I'm free."
"You… killed him," Seth said, still trying to process it.
"Yes. With pleasure. With intent. And with style." She rolled her neck, cracking her shoulders. "Now, where were we again?"
He stayed quiet.
She walked toward him, her hair still messy, the loose robe revealing the marks of her skin against his. "Ah, right. The marriage."
"Husband?" Seth asked, confused.
"What? You think I'd sleep with you and let you walk off with my power? Give me a break." She held up the signed contract. "When you passed out after round one, I grabbed your hand and finished the paperwork. Legally, you're mine."
"You're fast. And a cheat."
"And you're mine now. Deal with it. I'm your wife."
"Wait!" Seth gasped, his mind still spinning from everything — Esthair's murder, the marriage reveal, the signed contract without his consent, and, of course, the fact that a Rank-S woman had just casually called him "my husband." "What the hell... why the fuck would you choose a Rank-E?!"
The question slipped out like a breath of exasperation. He wasn't complaining — not even a little. In such a short time, she'd defended him with her life, destroyed a man who'd humiliated him for years, and despite being a force of nature, she touched him like he was her equal. It was more than just the sex — though the sex had been insane. It was the intensity. The way she looked at him like he was real. Like he mattered.
Seth liked confident women. Dangerous women. And of course, hot women. Connie was all three — to absurd degrees.
But still… why him?
Connie stopped at the bathroom door, her silhouette framed by the soft light. Her hair wild, skin marked by recent electricity and dried blood, her eyes still glowing with power. She turned slowly, the robe slipping off one shoulder, revealing more than it hid.
The look she gave him was sharp as a blade — but… there was something else. A shadow of disappointment.
"You really… don't remember?"
The question came out in a strange whisper. As if she already knew the answer, but still hoped for something different.
Seth frowned. "Remember...? Have we met before?"
Silence.
A long, uncomfortable silence — like the moment before lightning strikes.
Connie laughed. But it wasn't light or amused. It was bitter. Almost desperate.
"I started suspecting from the very first day." She turned fully to him, walking forward with slow, predatory steps. "From the moment you looked at me like I was just another Rank-S… even with everyone around you trembling… I already suspected."
Seth took half a step back, confused. "Suspected… what?"
She stopped in front of him, so close he could smell the metallic trace of electricity on her skin.
"That you forgot. Forgot me."
"I…" Seth blinked, his heart racing. "You're saying we… knew each other?"
She nodded — a barely perceptible motion. Her eyes burned with raw emotion, impossible to categorize.
"You made me a promise, Seth." Her voice trembled with restrained fury. "And I waited. Years. And when I finally found you… there you were, acting like I was just some driver."
"I don't remember any of that... I swear."
Connie's face darkened, like a storm brewing on the horizon. She grabbed his chin tightly, forcing him to meet her gaze.
"Then you better start digging through the dark corners of your mind. Dig, break, bleed if you have to." She brought her lips close to his ear and whispered, venom lacing her voice: "Because if you don't remember… I'll kill you myself."
She let him go with brutal force and walked toward the bathroom again.
"What we had… it's still there. Buried. And I'm not going to let it rot. Even if I have to make you remember the hard way."
She paused again at the doorway — a silhouette cloaked in power and resentment. Then she turned… "Just kidding," she said sweetly. "But really, please try to remember me, okay? I'll be upset."
With that, she walked into the bathroom.
"Join me in the shower. And after that... I want you to tell me what the hell that was. Because, my new husband, if your body handled my lightning—you're not a normal Rank-E. Not even close."
Seth stood there, staring at Esthair's lifeless body, the scent of ozone and blood heavy in the air.
