One sunny morning, as James sat alone in the classroom, feeling lost and out of place, a girl walked in. She had a bright smile and carried a pink bag that seemed too big for her small frame. Her name was Sophie.
Sophie was new to the school too, but unlike James, she seemed confident and cheerful. She took the seat next to James and turned to him with a warm smile.
"Hi, I'm Sophie. What's your name?" she asked, her voice soft but full of energy.
James hesitated for a moment, surprised by her friendliness. "I'm James," he replied quietly, looking down at his desk.
Sophie didn't seem to mind his shyness. "Do you want to be friends?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
James looked up at her, unsure of how to respond. He had never had a friend like Sophie before. Slowly, he nodded, and a small smile appeared on his face.
From that day on, James and Sophie became inseparable. They spent their days together, sharing lunches, playing during recess, and helping each other with schoolwork. Sophie's cheerful personality brought a new light into James's life, and for the first time, he felt like he belonged somewhere.
