POV: Female Lead (Doctor)
The emergency room buzzed with controlled chaos—doctors shouting instructions, nurses rushing between patients, the rhythmic beeping of heart monitors filling the air. But to Jung Ha-neul, this was home.
She tightened her ponytail and slipped on a fresh pair of gloves. Another long shift, another battle between life and death. She lived for this.
"Ha-neul, trauma patient coming in—car accident victim. We need hands."
"I'm on it."
As she rushed toward the stretcher being wheeled in, she felt the familiar thrill of adrenaline. Saving lives—that was her purpose. It was the one thing that had always made sense in her world.
Yet, despite her passion, she was nothing more than an intern in the eyes of her colleagues. The other doctors looked at her as just another junior, unaware of the truth—that she was the hidden daughter of the hospital's chairman.
She preferred it that way. If people knew who she really was, they would treat her differently. She wanted to prove herself as a doctor first.
A Certain Cold-Hearted CEO
Later that evening, Ha-neul glanced at her schedule and noticed a name that made her pause.
Patient: Ahn Min-jae.
Her lips curled into a mischievous smile.
"Ah, the cold-hearted CEO everyone fears." She had heard all about him—ruthless, distant, impossible to deal with. People whispered about him as if he were a myth, but Ha-neul wasn't easily intimidated.
"Good luck," her fellow intern, Min-ji, muttered. "They say he can fire someone with just a look."
Ha-neul smirked. "Let him try."
She grabbed her clipboard and made her way to his private suite, completely unaware that this man—this patient she was about to meet—would change her life forever.
